  1. maybe a better movie correlation would be "Hannibal (2001)" -- although those were supposedly wild/feral hogs
  2. That was my point. If you look at the links posted earlier by pinches monos (and other online complaints about the stores), that is the pattern for most of these stores. First they come into the neighborhood and then after a couple of years, they get a alcohol license, etc. Then the crime rate goes up, etc -- (not necessarily in that order or that one has to do with the other) That is why i said the issue wasn't done yet.
  3. do they have their alcohol license or sunday sales yet? then the issue isn't done yet...
  4. first, those that rent would not be typically be the type of person to be able to re-install the operating system -- if they had that kind of knowledge on computers, they would not be in a situation renting in the first place. second, these rental companies have the computer's setup locked with a password and it will not boot from the dvd or USB, so how would you load it anyway? (without removing the hard drive and putting it in another computer)
  5. update on the surrender on the suspect from approx 12pm: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/swat-officers-surround-home-barricaded-man-accused/nSPqh/
  6. good they were able to get him out safely ------------------ this story was posted hours ago : http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/293263-whats-going-on/
  7. Paranoia, the destroyer Here it goes again Paranoia, the destroyer KINKS - DESTROYER LYRICS
  8. thanks, i will be near the avenues west cobb this afternoon
  9. The reason there was no monetary fine is because the companies didn't make a direct "profit" from the scheme. At least not one the government could readily detect
  10. We got a great deal last year and i recommend the place we stayed at. It's a 3 bedroom condo with a hot tub in the master bath and a common area outdoor heated pool. It is about a mile from the disney gate / turn off. Plenty of fast food too within walking distance. Fairly modern condos with refrigerator, tv in each room, microwave and full kitchen with dishes, soap and dishwasher, etc, dining room, and a washer/dryer too. The nearest grocery store is about 2 miles. The condo sales staff are at the office, but they do not harass you with trying to sell you a time share -- but, we did get a
  11. Tell that to the 3+ bikers that like to wheelie and do 100 mph on bakers bridge road and ridge road every weekend. Normally cars speed anyway on those roads anyway -- these guys will be passing them 30-40 mph faster on the double-yellow. So, no it is not just one crazy guy. It starts up every friday night and goes until sunday night as they fly by every couple of hours. And as far as "sound" -- most anyone can tell you a bike is speeding just by listening to the high rpm engine going through all 6 gears almost a mile away.
  12. First, this a really odd model when kelley blue book, edmunds and the hollander junk yard inventory checker does not even have kia rondo listed in 2005. Even certifit does not list it for replacement body parts, so you will have a problem if it gets dented, etc link for salvage yard engine inventory: http://mypartshop.com there are 2.7L kia engines on there for $850 to $1200, and if you have the 2.4L engine, then it is lower than that. Most companies start listing the Rondo at 2007 and up and the basic value is between $4400 and $6500 As far as parting it out, it could take 6
  13. From what i have seen, the big companies like waste industries have transfer stations where the trash is dumped and then loaded onto huge conveyor belts where a large magnet picks out the steel and then humans pick through the rest separating the aluminum, copper, plastic and glass, etc by pulling it off the belt as it goes along. What is left is true trash and gets loaded onto a tractor trailer bound for an alabama landfill. They make side money by selling the scrap metal, and plastic, etc by the truck load
  14. ingles grocery stores have them in the frozen vegetables section -- i think the brand name is "pict sweet" and is about a 1 pound bag
  15. This patent stuff is sounding alot like the domain name registration scam. When you go to a hosting site and search to see if the domain name you want is currently available, the company will instantly buy it out from under you before you have time to register it. And of course, you can then buy it from them for a significant mark up.
  16. thanks, i do realize there is a big difference between a local shooting in the woods and one in new york city with 1000 people on the sidewalk down range. I am sure the different environment there requires different procedures, and if there was any way to stop the guy other than lethal force, they would have done it.
  17. How ironic that a little over a month later we see what "a policeman that has been trained to shoot properly" can do ----- "(Reuters) - All nine of the bystanders wounded on Friday near the Empire State Building were hit by police gunfire" you still think your family would stand a better chance?
  18. the survey works on firefox, IE and chrome -- not sure about the other internet browsers. I am not sure i like the georgia coastline tags like the whales. That's just not representing georgia.
  19. There is value in the old tube-type amps --- but usually people buy them for spare parts, etc. It really depends on the power output and brand / model number as to if they are worth anything as a complete amp
  20. The FTC (federal trade commission) tells consumers they are due a refund from purchasing Disney- or Marvel Hero-themed Children's Vitamins If you have purchased Disney- or Marvel Hero-themed "gummy" vitamins for your kids during the last few years – vitamins that featured characters such as the Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, Finding Nemo, and Spider-Man, you can get a refund. The FTC is providing these refunds as a result of a settlement with a vitamin marketer named NBTY Inc. and two subsidiaries, which agreed to pay $2.1 million to settle charges that they made false health
  21. georgia code 16-8-6 : Theft of lost or mislaid property "a person commits the offense of theft of lost or mislaid property when he comes into control of property that he knows or learns to have been lost or mislaid and appropriates the property to his own use without first taking reasonable measures to restore the property to the owner. " of course, the real issue is defining the statement of "taking reasonable measures to the restore property to the owner"
  22. There are benefits to the tuition scam for the schools --- the colleges can recruit students easier (from in state and out of state)/they can brag about having one of the lowest tuition costs in the country, etc. The real game is enrollment numbers -- the higher the student population, the more the school can expand. As long as the costs (or majority of costs) are paid by the government (or a foreign nation) it is an unlimited supply of money coming in with no oversight. But really, with public colleges, they have to get approval from the state board of regents to be able to raise tuiti
  23. maybe...... but is it cheaper to run a water heater at a lower temperature (and use more to take a shower) or have the water heater at a higher temp and use less of the heated water?
  24. I thought lockheed was the only company that used tri-wing screws on their aircraft... glad i saved my bits
  25. i have a good friend at univ of west georgia for summer semester and they have all those fees and on top of that they have: $90 per semester for health clinic fee $47 transportation fee (shuttle bus around campus?) $35 intramural sports fee (whether or not you play sports) $75 summer semester fee there was also a "facilities fee", but i do not know how much it was........... There were more individual fees, but the total was only approx $750, and he is a commuter student, which makes the campus bus fee especially ridiculous.
