  1. Seems like a lot of people at Penn State chose the easy way out.... McQuery, Paterno, etc., etc., etc. I have a question.......... If McQuery, or anyone else for that matter, had seen someone beating up and robbing someone on campus.......would they have stopped it and/or called the cops, or followed the chain of command?
  2. These were young boys who were participating in a Sports program for at risk youths created by Sandusky..... I don't think a ten year old boy could take the coach. ...and you are insinuating that the boys wanted this to happen?
  3. I don't know....but did the boys parents even know?? Many sexually abused children don't tell.... (I know from experience).... they are threatened to keep quiet. It works. They are made to feel guilty and part of the process...that somehow, they were asking for it.... I don't think the parents knew....these were at risk youths...easy kids to prey upon.
  4. I'm sorry, I just can't help it....it started about an hour ago.
  5. Yup! Heat's running right now.... of course, it's 32*F out right now.
  6. Blue Moon Cycle Great shop, great owner....we (hubby and I) used to do all his metal polishing. We love the old BMW's!
  7. Lots of wisdom in what you have said! I have degree in Biology....I have never worked in my field. Having my degree, though, has given me the confidence to homeschool my own kids and keep the government off my back (up here they leave you alone pretty much, if you have a degree). My husband has a technical (2 year) degree in Diesel Technology....I could see my son doing something like that instead of a four year degree.....perhaps apprenticing with John Deere and working for them. Either way, I think a technical Degree program might be a better choice.... Mechanic/Plumber/Construction
  8. Some to the Church Some to family Some to friends Some to me/hubby/kids....and our dreams Some for the poor/elderly in my area
  9. Sounds interesting.... I''ll have to check it out. Living up here now....we are only a very short drive from White Earth Indian Reservation (Ojibwa)we have many Native Americans around us all the time. It's a rough life for most of them, I think. Too many involved in alcohol/drugs/domestic violence/etc.
  10. We'll be around 36*F tonight...... window cracked and fan on.
  11. No smart phones in this household.... why does anyone need to be that connected?
  12. They're stuff has been crap for many, many years. We've stopped buying their cheap products a long time ago.... SEE YA!
  13. these have been around for years....maybe just dolled up a little different. If we moved to Kansas or Oklahoma, like we thought we were going to.... Monolithic would have been the only way to go long term. Monolithic Dome Homes some of the benefits.... Dome Home Benefits
  14. The good news? The weather up here is amazing.... highs near 70*F and lows in the mid-40's, no rain! Harvest time is keeping hubby very busy working on combines and that means a lot of overtime! woohoooo
  15. I was a Delfin Foam baby..... that's all my Mom and Dad had at the time.....
  16. I have no problem with the new FB....just have to get used to it. (...and thanks for the drive by on my blog.... )
  17. Sorry for the comment, Pubby.....I think it was that recessive gene that showed up in me....... I should have been killed before I was born, I guess.
  18. Gratitude is riches, complaint is poverty.
  19. Good times! Good times!!!
  20. My husband tried for a year after being laid off from yancey Bros. to get a job in GA...the Southeast....anywhere!!! The only place willing to hire a 55 year old diesel mechanic was 1600 miles away in the middle of Minnesota. To say that people aren't working because they don't want to take just any job is insensitive and pig headed. How would my husband support his family of 5 on minimum wage? How long would said job last? How many businesses in the area were willing to hire an older worker? We tried them all.... no one wanted him.
  21. Good Luck getting into an existing troop. It never worked for me...no one would take my girls. We wound up doing it as Juliette's (independent)...we really liked it...until they changed the program. We just dropped out...up here they aren't as active as in Atlanta and we can't stand the new program.
