  1. I don't get it either.... I'm not into "hero worship" and detest any kind of "mob mentality"..... so all this hoopla, whether it is for Royalty or the latest American Idol star just leaves me puzzled. Such is life.
  2. Good Morning LR and CO! I hope you all have a great day. Looks like we dodged the snow last night so I know I will.
  3. We had AT&T for years and years down in GA...but they didn't have coverage up here. So we changed to Verizon. Both are good. One disadvantage to changing to Verizon was that all my family has AT&T and so our free calling to them went away...but we don't use our cells for much .... so it isn't sooo bad.
  4. When I was still in GA I bought my fruit trees/blueberries/grapes from Johnson Nursery The drought killed a lot of the smaller plants but the Apple Trees were stellar! It took 5 years for them to start producing but once they did it was awesome!!
  5. I love it! ...and I love the poem! ....been thinking about you.
  6. Huffin' glitter..... now that would be a weird one, wouldn't it? ..and yes, Glitter is the devil!
  7. Look what we got last night! Isn't it purty? I'm only a little snow crazy at this point...hopefully it will be gone by the end of day today.... hopefully. The really sad part is that all the previous snow had melted last week....our yard was bare....I was beginning to think about gardening..
  8. I've never given it any thought whatsoever what the author has dangling or not dangling between their legs. I either like a book or I don't like a book.
  9. I'm so sorry. I know the heartache all too well. My Mom passed on Monday. I don't think (and maybe don't want) the heartache to leave anytime soon. My Mom and I were so very, very close also.
  10. We used to go....when we still lived in GA. My brother and his girlfriend were there last night. We went early with the kids (we have 3) and they picked all three kids for different activities throughout the pregame stuff. They had a blast! A lot of fun, but very hot in the summertime...
  11. I didn't know butterflies needed houses.... Butterfly Bushes always brought many many butterflies to my yard.... Butterfly Houses
  12. I've taken that test a number of times.... it always says that I'm a ............... Christian Scientist! How'd they know?
  13. I maintained squirrel free feeders for years when I lived in Buford, GA.... I also worked at Birdwatcher's Supply Co. and used to sell and advise on birdfeeding, etc. A squirrel can jump up roughly 5 or 6 feet........ they can climb up just about anything. They can jump down from trees, etc. from any height. They can jump out horizontally around 6+ feet. So where does that leave the average bird feeder? If you have an open area in your yard....no overhanging trees or buildings within 10 feet or more... there is a good likelihood of being squirrel free. I used metal conduit or water
  14. I'm so sorry. My prayers for peace for the family and the sweet little angel.
  15. I'm so sorry. I so know what you are going through right now.... My Mom is 82 and is currently in Cherokee Northside....she had a heart attack and a stroke last night and today they took her off of life support. She has no circulation in her legs...her kidneys are working at <60% ...... her lungs are <40%. She is essentially unconscious. She probably will not last through the night. What am I going to do without my Mom?????? I'm so sad. I haven't seen her in two years...since moving up here. ...and now I won't. It is truly a Rainy Night in GA. I will keep you in m
  16. May you feel his love for you as he watches over you today. {{{hugs}}}
  17. The USDA does home loans through Rural Development..... it is income based. Google it...lots of information. I think the house has to be in a community that is less than 25,000 people. I know someone up near Jasper, GA who has one of these loans. The percentage rate is modified and as long as your income stays below a certain level (based on the size of your family and the county you want to buy in)you will continue to have that reduced rate for the life of the loan. They can do a hardship loan if the person applying overall is a good risk and just fell upon hard times.... we had excellen
  18. We are in a house already. We moved to MN and while our GA house was still on the market and our credit was excellent...I started talking to the folks at the USDA-Rural Development. they did the credit check, etc and said that we should have no problem financing through them. As our house went into foreclosure they stuck by us and we got a "hardship" loan... we were approved and moved into our new house up here just a couple of months after our GA house sold on the courthouse steps. We now have twice as much house with payments that are less than our GA house. What helped us was havi
  19. Not necessarily. We bought our home for $77,000 ............ at it's peak it was appraised at $114,000.... when we tried to sell it the value had dropped back down to less then our original purchase price. We were upside down by over $30,000. Our house finally foreclosed and sold for about $36,000......... all has been written off. This was over a year ago. We owe nothing on that house. Our credit sucks... but we owe nothing.
  20. Is it debtor's prison if the real crime is missing the court date with the creditor? Her crime was missing the court hearing.......... not necessarily the debt. Don't mess with the courts.
  21. You know it's killing me, I really should post a picture ......... we got a foot of snow last night. After almost all the snow had melted, the grass was showing all over the place.......and we got another foot. Someone please shoot me now.
  22. We're at 28*F............. 30+ mph winds......... and sleet changing to snow. Move to Minnesota.
