Roundabouts with not much traffic are ok, you don't have to stop Roundabouts with traffic, and lots of people not knowing what to do are crazy Someone needs to put a wrecker and collision center close to the roundabouts, they will make lots of money without spending much on gas (I admit to being one of crazies when I first was in Carroll Co, but got used to them after a while--I still don't like them) -
Hopefully, something has happened to the little jerk by now that has made him grow up a bit without anyone getting hurt. Just looking at it from the school's perspective, they can't call a kid into the office or enforce some penalty on him because a stranger made a report that may have been him. Their hands are tied even if they know exactly who you were talking about. It may have been different if it happened on school property. You do have every right to be ticked off. As far as whether or not to blame parents. Teenagers will be stupid at times no matter how great of a parent they ha

Am I the only one that wants to smack the little girl in the ATT Uverse Commercial that busts on the cable guy visiting her class? I remember growing up and kids like her being "bad kids" like Nelly Olsen from LHOTP, or a couple of the kids from the old Willy Wonka movie. In my day, those kind of smartypants kids got what was coming to them, but in that commercial, she is not portrayed in a bad light at all. Whether right or not, she should not talk to adults that way or embarrass a guest to the classroom. I know it is JUST a commercial, but it is a commercial that is ALWAYS on and does se

It is a buyer's market right now, so I'm sure you could easily find another state in which to reside at a great price, where you would be much happier. -
I think its where Fatbacks used to be, behind Las Palmas near the Sparkles. They used to be next to the old Courthouse in Dallas in the old bus station place, but I don't think they were getting much business. I've only had the shrimp po boy, but it was good. Heard they had good beignets.

Also, at the intersection of the roads where the red light is now has been relocated/reconfigured. The roads did not intersect in the same place/way now as they did at the time. That's why there is that weird little part of a road near the cemetery.

If you do one of the checks on charities, they are rated pretty low for spending more money on fundraising/ other costs compared to what actually goes to the cause.

There was wreck at the convenience store between PCHS and the redlight. It was out of the way in the store parking lot, but ambulance, police, and wrecker were arriving.

I don't know why this is in Animal House. You can have my sirens. They don't just go off when there's a warning but anytime there is a watch or even bad thunderstorm. They don't wake me up anyway if I'm asleep. Speaking of Animals, they freak my dogs out, too.

I think that one was about 74 or 75 because I remember standing on the porch and seeing the funnel cloud to the North of our house while all of the adults were running around and freaking out. Mother pulled a king size mattress off the bed and put it over us, Daddy kept running around opening and closing windows because he couldn't remember which side you were supposed to open and close, and all of the old ladies in the neighborhood came to our house to keep from being alone. I still remember riding up 61 right at the store and seeing where the storm went through and being sad that some cow

That is a horrible situation to be in as a parent. Unfortunately, it is not that unusual for boys with severe autism to become violent in their teens. Some do not continue to be violent later on in life, after the hormones stop raging, so it may not be a life-long situation

I don't think that statement is fair. Actually, almost every special ed student is "thrown back" in the regular population today. Schools can be penalized if they don't have almost all students mixed in the general population, and its called "inclusion." There are very few small group classes. Almost every student who has a small group class attends at least one or two "general education" classes during the course of the day. Inclusion has benefits and drawbacks. There are no students at our middle school who are not in inclusion at some point during the day. I don't know where this

Yes I was being sarcastic. I had seen the other report with more info, but did not look at this one in detail. Makes more sense now, but I'm so used to people defending crazy things kids do, you never know. "Little Johnny only threatened that woman with a hacksaw, but he didn't ACTUALLY hurt anyone. That's so unfair to arrest him."

I'm not going to get into the whole issue of whether text books are needed or are obsolete. I see positives and negatives on both sides. I do want to point out that we(GA and many other states)are transitioning to common core standards next year so almost every subject area's standards will change. From what I understand, some subject areas will change a lot from this year to next and other subject areas will only change a little bit next year, but will gradually change over a few years. I don't think any system will have up-to-date texts if things change some each year for several years.

They also don't allow ALL students to attend. Major behavior issues, students who refuse to do work, and severe learning disabilities are usually not allowed to stay enrolled. (I know there are some problems with behavior, low motivation of students, and mild ld served in private schools) In public schools, not only are they served, but in most cases they are dealt with in a classroom of 30 other students. I would also like to point out that private schools have a majority of students who come from middle class or higher, educated backgrounds. In general, you can predict the success o

I'll pay extra to avoid Hiram!! I even drive to Cartersville sometimes just to avoid it.

I'm not a blue cheese snob, but wasn't thrilled about the blue cheese, either. Very bland, but that's just a minor thing. I'll get ranch next time. Everything else was great. I love the place, too. They do have the best chicken tenders I've ever had.

Shoney's on Thornton Road, very close to I-20 was good last weekend. I haven't been to Shoney's in years, but stopped on the spur of the moment restroom break We were scared when it was Sat evening and we were the ONLY ones in the entire restaurant, but we had every worker's attention so I was too embarrassed to leave. It was clean, the food/salad bar was good, and our food was great! The waitress made a point to tell us that they had recently remodeled and had new cooks. I guess things used to be really bad there, but they have re-vamped the place.
