In the real world, decisions you make affect your life forever. They need to learn this. A few years back a guy I knew was in law enforcement and tried his best to be a state trooper, but they would not consider him because at 18, his first quarter of college, he was stupid and got a DUI.

I completely agree with that if I had done this, I would want to stay locked up as long as possible to avoid what was going to happen when my mother got ahold of me. I disagree that the school should have to spell out to students and parents that vandalism will get you arrested and kicked out of school. I think its in the handbook that they sign anyway. I'll look and see if I can find it. We did not tell our middle schoolers that peeing on toilet paper and throwing the wads at other students is against the rules, but I assume they know it will get them in trouble.

Its this type of attitude that has caused the problem. Maybe they are good kids and should know better than this, but they didn't just spray paint a road. They did 40,000 dollars in property damage. They BROKE the LAW and. It was their choice to do this and they have to suffer the embarrassment, jail, fines, and punishment that they brought on themselves. I don't know who they are, I might even know some of them, but they should not be able to go to prom or participate in any school activities this school year. I don't think their lives should be ruined by this forever, but they deser

I say ombudsman for the rest of the school year. (no prom or other school activities) They have to personally clean up what they did and what they can't personally fix, they have to reimburse the school for repairs.
  5. Scary, but I'm not sure that its common enough for me to alter my swimming habits
  6. I haven't run across it, but it doesn't bother me. I do HATE seeing the deceased person in the casket whether it is a close family member or not. Like someone said earlier, its not what I want to remember about them. Pictures on the other hand, don't bother me.
  7. West Ridge Church has some financial counseling resources.
  8. I was wondering the same thing. The only thing I can think of is jumping off of the platform in the deep end on top of another kid, or doing some type of weird jump and hitting the platform. Killer amoeba????!!!!!
  9. It was crowded today but wouldn't have been so bad if family groups of 4-6 people had not blocked off whole isles and sections while they talked, or one person shopped with no consideration for others. Ugghh. Not much selection, but I knew that in advance. The prices on produce were awesome. I got out with several bags of groceries and paid less than $30.
  10. If you get grossed out by lakes and creeks, its not for you. If you prefer lakes and creeks to community pools, you'll be ok. I prefer fish cooties to people cooties almost any day. Saturdays are relatively busy, but if you can go a week day during the summer, you may have the whole beach to yourself, never crowded. I didn't go last year, but before that you could stay all day for 5 bucks and get a hot dog, chips, and drink for less than $3. For less than 10 bucks for person, you're good for the day. I've never had to deal with much rudeness or rowdy kids. I like it so much better than
  11. Once upon a time...it was a nice, family-friendly place to eat. Hope the guy's ok.
  12. Mama, my grandmother who lived with us, always cooked for an army on Sunday. You never knew which relatives would show up. Usually two meats fried chicken and something else, biscuits and cornbread, beans, mashed potatoes, okra, or whatever vegetables she had, usually two desserts from scratch. We also had cucumbers soaked in vinegar, sliced tomato, sliced onion, pickled beets, and whatever type of relish or chow chow she had on hand. Ooops can't forget the sweet tea.
  13. Its pretty much Hope Floats meets Desperate Housewives.
  14. Was your home OK? I know a lot of damage was in that area. Just hoping your home escaped the worst of it.
  15. I'm sure if a gun was found, it would have been reported. Students are carted off all of the time for fighting at school in the back of deputy's car. Its nothing unusual. I would imagine their parents picked them up last night or today.
  16. From the video it looks like 61 North, between the old Courthouse and cemetary hill. Actually, much closer to cemetary hill. She should not be affected.
  17. My doc said DON'T do the beer or any other diuretic; it dehydrates you more afterwards. It won't help much unless it is close to passing, and if it doesn't you are compounding the problem by being dehydrated. Plenty of consistent water until it passes is best.
  18. The Sears at Town Center has a large Lands End section. I haven't been to the one at North Point to know how it compares.
  19. I think there is one gas station and Coot's Lake just outside of Paulding, there's not much between Dallas and Rockmart on 278.
  20. I'm glad you asked because that made no sense to me.
  21. Of course there was an affair. I think the fact that she called him when the daycare called her, shows she at least suspected that he did something, if not KNEW what was going to happen. If she was just trying to get in touch with the office, she would have called another co-worker when she didn't reach him or left a message at the office. She was trying to get in touch with HIM.
  22. I did not read the link so this may be a repeat of information. On the televised BOC meeting they were having to get another contractor to re-pour the foundation because the first one messed it up and could not fix it. Apparently, this ate up some time and is what put them behind.
