  1. I was actually more concerned about the anti-american rhetoric and the close association with those that believe our government was behind 9/11. IMO that is almost as outlandish as those who deny the Holocaust. I would be just as concerned if he had close associations with that ideology. His Marxist remarks about education may be taken out of context, but I want to know more about these other associations before I decide to put any money into that institution as long as he is one of its leaders.
  2. Are you going to answer my questions? Actually no I haven't yet, but I will before I make my decisions. It may be taken out of context. My main point was that they have the right to make their hiring choices, and we all have ways to express our disagreement with those choices. That is the beauty of living in this country.
  3. Just wondering if you can support this with evidence? Also wondering what level of education you have? I'm smelling some powerful dog squeeze coming from your post, too. I was considering taking some night/online classes toward another degree in the near future. I'm considering dropping KSU a letter letting them know that if this fellow is Provost, KSU will no longer be my school of choice. The school has the right to choose their staff, and I have the right to let them know how their choices affect my choices. If enough people express their intentions to steer clear of the
  4. My guess is that the kid has older siblings, probably middle school age who are starting to talk about things, but don't yet have the maturity to know the appropriate time and place. MANY kids are exposed to things at too early of an age and not sheltered from much they can see on movies, TV, internet, but still, it is usually older siblings that are the culprits. The parents need to know about it. Lets hope they will do something.
  5. Well, I guess comfy elastic waist pants can be considered planning ahead if you're wanting to take full advantage of a buffet. Fashion may not be your strength, but you are prepared!
  6. About 10 years ago I was living out of state and was looking to move back closer to home. I submitted many resumes for jobs and received a call for an interview in Marietta. They could clearly see that I was living half-way across the country at the time. I spoke to the person on the phone, asked about the certification for the job, and was told that I could take classes to get certified as a counselor while I worked there. With the conversation I had, the person seemed to feel I was a good candidate for the job. I took time off of work, drove about 13 hours on Thursday night, and went to th
  7. I don't consider my money going to the state retirement system as a benefit. I would opt out in a millisecond if I could and put that money in my own retirement account. I doubt the state pension plan will be afloat in 25 years when I need it. My thousands are going down the drain.
  8. Oh yes! We get tons of bonuses, whenever we ask. We are all world travelers with all of that pay and time off. My fellow teachers who are working part-time at Sylvan, JCPenney, waittressing are just doing for fun because our job isn't challenging enough. Come join us! Its a blast and you'll have the time of your life with the wonderful children that love learning! Easiest job ever!
  9. I wonder where the programs will go that are in New Hope School.
  10. Kennesaw Mountain and Pickett's Mill if they are into history.
  11. I think at one time, there was a 22 year old grandmother in Georgia.
  12. and the daffodils that bloomed early
  13. Can't we all just get along??? Agree to disagree??? Not take it personally when someone does not exactly hold the same opinion as you??? I've been there, done that, and can't say that I've never gotten into it on here, but it just seems like even the most harmless topics end up in some type of argument.
  14. I've seen one of those purply Tulip Trees blooming, but most of what I've seen blooming is what I think are the blooming Pear trees. (not the kind with fruit)
  15. Haven't heard that story. Would love to know the details on that tidbit of history.
  16. Coosawattee River Resort in Ellijay was ok last Fall. There are mostly cabins rented by individuals but we stayed on a creek that would be great for tubing, fishing, relaxing most have firepits. Some of the houses are only big enough for 6 and some can sleep 20. Just walk or drive up the road and tube back. There's also two pools, game rooms, larger river on site. Amicalola Falls, Burt's Farm, and other things in a short distance.
  17. I kind of like the originality, but not slick and high quality. The guy gets rich and finds his own way to put himself in a Western and advertise his business. Like the commercials or not, people know the name and he seems to be having a great time.
  18. I don't think its silly to want to see my doctor when I need something. Sickness isn't planned. My doc is good but over-crowded in my experience. I'm looking to see what other options are available. I think you are silly for thinking that I am silly. Is that silly of me?
  19. Yes, I do this every year. I didn't get allergies until 30+ and am still a little in denial. EVERY year I feel like I'm fighting the flu, it come and goes for a couple of weeks. I start sleeping more, feeling bad, and get behind on work. Then, migrains hit, and I think its just stress, but it puts me more behind. Suddenly, it dawns on me that I have allergies. When will I ever learn? If I were popping benadryl like jelly beans I would be comatose. Those things knock me out for hours.
  20. Are you suppose to say granite? (I don't judge. I've caught many of my own typos. thought instead though, they're instead their, necesarily, it happens, even when we know better) oh wait, just read previous post Do you say granite? Are you suppose to?
  21. This is the same group as Dr. Gose. I guess you have better luck than I do. I can never get in on short notice...not in the last 4 years. I have no complaints when it is an appointment that is scheduled ahead.
  22. What local physician is good as a primary care and is not so busy that they can't take you when you are sick. I love Dr. Gose, but I always in end up Urgent Care Center or having to wait two days.
  23. Maple Almond Butter...$10 a jar it lasts a while, thought I have to splurge on some clothes because I'm larger and shorter than the "norm" in clothes sizes, but not far out of average if you look at height and weight chart for average American women (off topic, but when will the people that make clothes realize that most of us aren't tall and skinny. Average height for Am woman now is just over 5'3" and weight is close to plus size)
