I know it is a little off topic... I've never heard bad things about Griffin White or James Kelly, but is this common practice to profit off of the city when you're on the city council? I am asking a honest question and not trying to stir up anything. I can see both sides 1) Its not fair for them to get the business when they are the ones making the decisions on where to rent or who to hire 2)if they are giving the city a deal on rent or landscaping charges, its not necessarily a bad thing. I would think that services should be a part of a bid process or some type of process to make sure

Democrat/Republican really doesn't matter at the local level as much. They are almost ALL Republican even if they are really Democrats. That's the only way they get elected...just ask our dear governor.

I heard one in the distance the other night and my brain all of a sudden thinks "ICE CREAM MAN"!!! Then, the reasonable adult in pajamas realizes that I don't have any money handy, I have better ice cream in the fridge, and me running down the street after dark in my pajamas yelling ice cream might seem strange to neighbors. I wonder if Pavlov invented the ice cream truck.

1) Because groping a woman's breasts without her permission is considered sexual assault. 2)Because he is in a position of authority over her. 3) I would think that HIS money and not taxpayer money will be spent on this. (I am not saying it happened. There may be a lot more to this story)

Just saw the report and am confused. The alleged behavior of kissing a city employee on the forhead and hugging went on for a period of time culminating in an incident where her chest was groped. It was reported that these incidents happened in a city office under construction. The office they showed was in Griffin White's own strip mall and not the Dallas City Hall Building. Is the City of Dallas putting city office's in Griffin White's building? Can the city do business with its own city councilman in that way?

Her family had to fly in from Jerusalem. If she slept in a car then a shelter, sounds like she doesn't have friends around that aren't his friends. I wish someone could confirm that she is ok physically right now.

I've never been in that situation myself, but I did work with many in a former work life. This whole situation screams battered woman to me.

Did you see the interview???? HE's the one wanting attention. When she was "missing" she was sleeping in her car for a night and at a battered women's shelter because she was afraid to come home. He came home and caught her in a lie and she was afraid to come home. He even admitted to "pushing" her in the past and that he sent her a message that he was going to kill her when she got home. Sounds a whole lot like a battered woman to me.

I think I do. I don't remember her being a singer, but I did have Charley (Charlie??) doll when I was a little that was sort of like a cheap barbie. I remember her being a guest star on One Day at a Time or Jeffersons or something. I would never have remembered it but I have a vague memory of playing in the floor with my doll and her being on TV.

At the middle schools, a few times a year, they cover the stage with all of the lost clothes. It is boxes and boxes full of nice things...lots of brand new, expensive jackets. Most students never bother to look.

10 furlough days the past 2 years and our school lost a lot of teachers, but I think almost all found jobs I am thankful for my health insurance, but I would gladly stop paying into the teacher's retirement system and put that money into a 401k. I see that huge chunk of change plus Social Security and Medicare go out of my check every month knowing it will never be there when I retire some day.

A lot of people ONLY have access to the internet through the public library. That was my only access a few years ago. There are still a lot of benefits from the public libraries, but the smaller ones could be consolidated.

Just because someone was rude to you doesn't mean you need to be rude to them. Its horrible that someone with an engineering degree (probably high student loans) can not find enough work right now. It stinks that my pay keeps shrinking from furloughs and other cuts. It is just as bad for these people that now they are getting furloughed. Its not good for anyone.

I don't agree in racism or making negative assumptions based on of a few crazies in a religion. I am a Christian but I do not want to be lumped in with the bunch who protest military funerals and blow up aboortzion clinics. Many races are muslim. Glad you posted. I know its hard in a situation like this when you want to prevent something from happening, BUT I know the other side of this is not good either. I would not want to live in a country where I could be arrested just because someone thought I might do something or said I was being threatening with no proof. It is a tough job for law enforcement.

I admit it, I love DWTS, but I usually hate the music...I wish they would fire the band and pay out the bucks for the original songs...but tonight the classical music with the violinist is great.
