That is NOT my experience. I had many trips to get my Mac repaired and had to drive to Atlanta, drop it off, and then drive back. It was never convenient, and of course, I had long waits while at the store. My Dell laptop was easily fixed locally twice, same day. When the charger cord messed up, I picked one up locally...easy. When I needed something on my Mac, had to drive to Atlanta and pay a bundle, or order over the net and wait. I did get a virus* on my Dell, and it was not worth fixing. I bought it two years ago as a refurb and it was several years old beyond that...but I cou

This is my main gripe with having a Mac. I had a Mac and will NEVER go back. Its hard to find anyone who will work on them and the Apple stores are outrageous. I can almost guarantee you that it will cost more to get it fixed than to buy a new one. That Peach store quoted me $200 to get my info of of my old I Book that I can not get fixed. Really? $200 when the Apple Store is the one who caused the problem? (I took my laptop to them with a broken hinge. The top would fall back and would not close, but it worked as long as there was something to hold it up. I had a cloth between the top

Bill to Require Booster Seats For 7-8 Year Old

Obvious sarcasm here . I do wish all parents had the sense to do what is necessary to make sure their children are safe...but lets face it, some don't even feed their kids. I'm not disagreeing with you that the government needs to step in at times to mandate (legalize) issues that concern safety, especially with kids. The problem I see with this is that there are so many variables. It varies with age, weight, height, types of car, types of restraint systems, etc. Its going to be hard to write a law that makes sense of all of the variables. -
CHARLIE SHEEN: ANYONE ELSE WATCHING HIS PUBLIC MELTDOWN?

If its not drugs, it must be a manic stage of bipolar disorder or some type of mental disorder that looks a lot like it. He's very unstable and unpredictable right now. -
I'm sure that there are some people who may prefer to stay in a situation that they are accustomed to, but by far, the majority of people would choose freedom. Look what the Middle East is going through now. I hope their battle ends up with the people having a say in their governments, and not just another dictator or oppressive type government in charge.

CHARLIE SHEEN: ANYONE ELSE WATCHING HIS PUBLIC MELTDOWN?

I think he shares custody with Denise Richards so they are not in the home all of the time. Denise Richards will have go to a judge, just like the other mom did, to get a protection order or change of custody to prevent him from getting the visits with his daughter. Hopefully, this is coming. It is very sad. -
It is horrible what those people are doing. Its horrible that they do this in the name of Christianity, IT IS NOT! Their message has nothing to do with Christ. All I see is hate and evil in their words. Its just so sad and horrible that they are choosing to put their time into such an awful thing.

CHARLIE SHEEN: ANYONE ELSE WATCHING HIS PUBLIC MELTDOWN?

I'm hoping everyone gets tired of it soon and it goes away for everyone's sake. I did hear him say on the news this morning that he has custody of his two littlest kids right now since the current wife is out of the picture temporarily. THAT SCARES ME. I thought all of the kids were out of that house and with the moms. -
Breast Milk Ice Cream Smashing Success in London

Ewww. And as far as the cow's milk comment above... think of it this way cow's milk --good...people milk-- bad (except for babies) eating cows--good....eating people---bad (unless stranded on top of a snowy mountain) -
Sounds like she had a long, happy life and was able to devote a lot of time to her faith and reaching out to others. Surprising, since I mostly knew her from the old cross your heart bra commercials.

Got Zaxbys wings and they were raw on the inside, but the sirens were going off, so I wasn't going to risk my life and take them back. I even requested that they be extra crispy. I've hardly eaten in two days due to a migraine, have no groceries, and my stomach is growling in the middle of a storm. Thanks a lot Zaxbys

I live very close to the sirens and heard nothing last night...I guess I slept through it.

Does employer have right to require your Facebook password?
Mariposa replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In my opinion, there is a huge difference in mandatory drug testing and requiring the password for social media. The latter is the same as requiring an employee allow their phone lines to be tapped and recorded so that the employer can listen. I don't feel violated by being asked to pee in a cup. I would feel violated if they required me to allow an employer to observe me having a physical exam. I don't feel violated by a background check or my employer having access to see anything on my work computer. I do feel violated by them having access to my private computer, especially soci -
I am speaking from first-hand experience. I am by no means a computer guru. When I bought my first lap-top around 5 years ago, I read everything I could find, and decided on paying more for a Macbook...one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. The keyboard was broken right out of the box and it took hours on the phone to get it fixed, even then had to drive it to a special store in Atlanta. That was the problem, it kept messing up, or every time I needed something, I couldn't get it locally. Had to ship it or drive to Atl. Payed for the Microsoft office suite for Mac so I could easily p

Looks like the big red K store may be closing too...
Mariposa replied to macarose's topic in RECENT TOPICS
About 10 years ago, I lived out of state, and I preferred the K-mart in that town to Wal-mart any day. Kmart was well managed, organized, clean...the Wal-mart was a mess and EVERY time I went I had a problem with items not ringing up for the sale price. As I stated previously, I will not go into the Kmart on 278 unless there is an extreme circumstance. -
I had so many problems with my Mac, never found the customer service better, and do not recommend them unless you are in music, art, design or some area where their programs are better. If you are wanting to take info back and forth to a PC, you may run into problems.

I refuse to go to that K-mart unless absolutely necessary. I have had a bad experience every time and never enough registers open. I've never seen more than two open. I won't miss the store, but I do hate it for those who are losing a job. I hope they can be placed in nearby stores. -
The front desk of the ER has the number of a taxi service. I used them once when I hated to wake everyone up in the middle of the night. It was fine.

I've heard about the aspirin, too, but never tried it.

My ancestor, too. I hate to see the old cemetary sitting in the middle of a sub-division.

As a PC native, I don't get it. I do remember it painted across the old brick store in Dallas when I was a kid, but I never knew what it meant.

That explains the power outage earlier.
