I'm living dangerously. On my last roll of TP, no bread, and milk almost gone....last time I did this...BLIZZARD of '93

I don't have that choice. I work there and HATE driving in the snow and ice. So far, I've had 3 scary drives in the last year but I can't leave before the kids are on the bus.

Since she was found relatively close to where she was taken, and the guy was not from that area, maybe she didn't suffer a long ordeal.

Convicted Texas robber exhonorated after 30 years in prison

I'm in support of cutting back on wasteful government spending in MANY areas. I hate frivolous law suits....BUT IF YOU PUT ME IN JAIL FOR 30 YEARS FOR NOTHING, I EXPECT SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION. -
No one will want to work with the struggling students or work at the school with lower test scores. We'll see how it goes in those districts who agreed.

What Would You Do If Your Disabled Child Was Bullied
Mariposa replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There are cameras all over the halls and in buses. They are not in classrooms and bathrooms, but cameras can't pick up what is said. Bathrooms are monitored as much as possible, but it is impossible to have security in all bathrooms at all times. Can you imagine the cost? We try to be in the hall during class change, but when you have hundreds of kids in a hall, you don't see or hear everything. Even in a classroom, even when it is a small class, a teacher does not see or hear EVERYTHING. Kids who are trying to get away with things will watch for us to be talking to someone or our att -
What Would You Do If Your Disabled Child Was Bullied

I understand the parent's anger. Picking on other students is such a hard issue to for schools to deal with because its usually done when no adult is around. School employees would get fired in a flash if they did what that father did. Buses, bathrooms, lockerooms, and crowded halls are the prime areas. If no adult heard it and it doesn't show up on a bus video its hard to give consequences based on what someone else said someone did. I can't officially endorse any physical violence in school, but sometimes I don't mind when some kid gets their butt kicked who deserves it. -
Just checked myself on that. There was a marriage in the mid-80s but no kids.

I thought he was already a dad to at least one child from a sham marriage in the mid-80s.

I was going to suggest crockpot with a good BBQ sauce and a little liquid smoke for easy BBQ, but I guess that's not what you're looking for. Check food network or Pioneer Woman websites for good recipes.

Man faces charges for reading wife's e-mail
Mariposa replied to afriendlygeek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
She violated his trust, he violated her privacy, and they are equally wrong. Neither should be prosecuted. In a marriage, I think you should have a joint email or at least access to each other's email and/or Facebook. Its not about violating trust or privacy, but about accountability. We all have our temptations, but we are more likely to give into those temptations when no one is looking. Just like with a teen's computer, phone, Facebook; if a parent has access to check on what they're doing, they're not as likely to get into something they shouldn't. -
Man faces charges for reading wife's e-mail

I'll give you alcohol sales on Sunday are mainly laws in place for religious reasons. I'm not going to get into an argument either way whether the other things mentioned should or should not be criminally/morally wrong. What you said was that the laws were on the books because of religious people wanting to dictate people's sex lives. The argument I was making was that those laws were put into place in the past where society in general, not just the religious, found those actions to be so morally wrong that they should be punishable by law. Just like today, it is not just the religious that -
Man faces charges for reading wife's e-mail

So only "religious people" think that aldultery is wrong? That's bizarre logic. So, when most of society believes that something is wrong and should be punishable under law, especially when it comes to sex, its because of crazy religious people and not because an act is morally wrong in itself? Is it only religious people that want laws that rule the sex lives of pedophiles? I don't think so. I think its because our society thinks that it is such a morally wrong act, that it deserves punishment. In the past, our society (not just the religious) believed this about adultery. Apparentl -
Email Spam is mildly annoying, but I do understand. The ones that I want to sue are the people who drop the soggy, unreadable paper that litters my yard. That can't be legal. Also, the people who send me all of those advertisements, credit card offers, and junkmail that clogs my mailbox. Comcast and satellite companies are at the top of my list.

I don't remember it snowing on Christmas. I do remember some time in the late 80s or early 90s, it snowed a little on the Christmas Parade in Dallas.

If I were alone, I wouldn't open the door and would call the police. Sounds like she need someone to help her to get to safe place for the night anyway. Lost, without a phone, in this weather is not good.

My couch from American Signature survived me and two large dogs for two years, my sister's family including a 6-9 year old boy jumping and diving off of it every day for several years , now me and my two dogs again for a couple of years. I even sleep on my couch more than I do in my bed (with at least one dog) (we traded furniture back and forth)

Don't buy from Jennifer Convertibles. I bought a chair and loveseat that is very nice looking and comfy...UNTIL you get stuck in the butt by a down feather. I've had other furniture with down stuffing, but with this stuff, had to put something between me and the down.

I bought an indestructible couch at American Signature Furniture about 7 years ago. They also have a bargain room that's worth checking out if you are in that area. Its hit or miss with deals.

You may laugh at us...but the last time I did not prepare for being snowed in was the blizzard of '93. Never again! I will stock up, just in case from now on. Merry White Christmas Everyone!

Maybe if they have enough interest they'll do more showings of movies. It doesn't even have to be free they could charge small fee or even have a donation box. I would love to see more family movies or old movies playing. I know they showed Gone With The Wind a while back, but I wasn't able to attend. Things like: True Grit (the old one) Its a Wonderful Life Star Wars ET I don't know what else would be great to see on a big screen again?
