I like to look at the Cobb County Sheriff's Department web page that shows everyone arrested for a particular day. It is amazing that the majority of those arrested are definitely under 23. There are lots of DUI and drug arrests. And a lot of those arrested live in Paulding County!! I was scared to death of the consequences I would suffer at the hands of my mother. That was enough to make me not do anything that I could be arrested for!! It seems that today, most kids don't fear any repurcussions from their parents. It's sad to see all these young folks making mistakes that will

I went to the Diet Clinic up by Wal-Mart. They are really good. I got the pills and took them for about a month. I couldn't take them everyday because I couldn't sleep at night. They really suppressed my appetite and I lost 20 pounds. I have more to lose, but I'm waiting until after the holidays to get started again. The pills did not have any side effects other than keeping me from sleeping. I didn't have the racing heart or "high" feeling that I've had with other prescription diet pills. I feel completely normal when I take them. I don't know anyone else who is taking them,

Child hit and killed after getting off of school bus
drosser replied to boosmom13's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It will be interesting to see how Douglas County handles this. A while back, a woman drove around a school bus in Cobb County and struck a 5-year-old who was getting off the bus. This lady was honking her horn at the bus and went around on the right side through someone's yard and ran over the little girl. What happened to her? 3-months in jail. To me, that's no where near enough punishment for the deliberateness of her actions. It just made me sick. They did take her driver's license away but does that really stop her from driving? I seriously doubt it. I hope Douglas County prov -
I know they can't all win, but I hate to see any one of the remaining 5 go home. I like them all so much, I don't even have a favorite. I really think they will all have a career in music no matter who actually wins.

I feel your pain and feel the exact same way. I tried the same thing and was told the same thing!! It seems those of us who pay their bills on time and do the right thing get screwed over just for doing those very things. If a lender is going to offier loan modification, it should be to everyone who is interested and not just for those who can't or won't pay their bills on time. I understand that their are dire sitations, and I feel for those people (it could happen to any one of us at any time), but a home loan modification would make it a lot less likely for someone to be in a bad situat

And my husband thinks I'm stupid for not leaving the garage door up when we're home and for keeping the doors locked at all times. I told him about this and he still thinks we are all stupid for being worried and afraid. We live off Ridge Road and it makes me very nervous!!

Kids lose their innocence way too early in this screwed up world already. IMO, no teacher should be telling kids that there is no Santa. That's for the parents to do when the time is right. We, as parents, should try to keep our kids as innocent as possible for as long as possible. Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy are all part of that innocence and the fun of childhood. It should be made to last as long as possible.

Yep--the two who needed to go are now gone!! It's going to be extremely hard now to see anyone go home. The remaining 5 are all awesome and I think each one of them deserves a recording contract.

I liked Astro, too, but he was not the best and it was time for him to go. Same with Drew. Now the eliminations really get tough!!

I am in total agreement with you. Not all, but a whole lot, of people just sit back and collect their unemployment and welfare benefits and never give a thought to actually looking for a job. I have to work for my money, and I feel everyone else should, too. I think that if unemployed folks get out and mingle in the community by doing CS, their chances of finding work will be increased if they really want a job. Teh sad thing is that there are too many people who get used to not working and grow content with having their check come in the mail. 24 hours a week is not that many hours. I

I think Astro is a very talented young man, but he needs to sing and not just rap everything. I don't care for Drew at all. The rest of them are all awesome and it's going to be tough to watch anyone else get cut. Melanie is always good, and I just love Rachel. There has been far more talent on X-Factor than there ever was on American Idol.

I agree 100%. I have to freeze at work because the temperature in our office is impossible to control. When I come home, I want my heat on so that I can thaw out. I only like the cold when it is snowing. For some reason, it never seems really cold when it snows. My husband wants the ceiling fan on in the bedroom year round, so I have to have my own blanket to keep warm at night. I can't sleep when I'm cold.

I have been at my job for 17 years. It started out with great benefits. We used to have great health insurance with dental (no vision), $200 bonus each year that we did not call out sick (I am very fortunate and very rarely am sick). We had good annual raises. PTO accrues according to how long you've been there. Sick time used to accure up to a total of 270 hours. Good 401K that is matched after a few years (I don't remember how many). We can also purchase stock, but we get dividends each year and have to pay taxes on it, so I'd rather they keep it!! Now we have horrible insurance.

Mine is up!!! My husband and two oldest grandsons worked on it this afternoon. It's not quite finished because I need to go up in the attic to see what decorations I bought after Christmas last year. It will be finished tomorrow with gifts wrapped and under it. I am almost finished with my shopping. Just a couple of things left and some stocking stuffers. I'm so relieved that I got started early with my shopping. I hate crowds and standing in line.

I have a very hard time following the Cobb scanner. They always have something going on and they don't do tones, so it's hard to tell when it's something worth listening to. I listen to it a lot because my daughter lives in Cobb, but I'll hear something on the news and realize that it was on the scanner, but I missed it!!

Not yet!! I want to so bad but will wait until the day after T\hanksgiving!! I can't wait because I've got almost all my shopping done and will have lots or presents to wrap and put under the tree. My grandkids are so excited and that makes me excited, too!!

My husband got a ticket for this, too, quite a while ago. I see people doing it all the time. I try to avoid touching the gore area and am usually honked at or nearly hit because I am obeying the law. It is really bad at Pine Valley and 92!! I come this way home very day, and it is always a problem for anyone behind me if there is a line of traffic. My insurance is high enough. I'm certainly not going to do anything to get a ticket and make it go up more!! People just need to be a little more patient and learn to obey the traffic laws.

Been there, done that!! Yes, they are expensive. My daughter was addicted to meth and they had us come over and go through all this crap and told us about scholarships, etc. that would pay for her treatment. Ended up that they wouldn't take her because they don't do detox for meth. They wanted her to come to out-patient, but we had no money!! She ended up getting clean on her own. It was awful!! She lost everything she had except for her kids. They are all that got her through. Now I have my daughter back and the boys finally have a mom who is 100% there for them. It seems to be

Both of my daughters were involed in accidents at that intersection while they were attending Hiram High. It is a terrible intersection!!

My gut tells me the mother is involved. I don't know about the dad. It's just so very sad that anyone could hurt an innocent child. I don't feel like this will have a good outcome, but I pray that it will.

What really ticks me off is that most people who really need SSDI have to jump through so many hoops it is ridiculous, and it takes several tries and sometimes an attorney before they get accepted. I've seen people who are not really injured or not injured enough that they absolutely cannot work get SSDI on the first try. I just don't understand how that happens.

I used to feel the same way. I was a little leary about ordering on line, but when I saw the difference in prices I gave it a try. A lot of times, you can get free shipping. And even if youhave to pay for shipping, it is a lot less than having to drive to Town Center or to Gwinnett County. I only order from certain companies and have found that if you are not satisfied with a color or the quality or if they make a mistake and send you a different item than what you ordered, they will credit your card and let you keep the merchandise sent to you. I've only had this happen once and was ver
