  1. 42-34 tells me neither side had much of a defense.
  2. NEVER MIND. I thought this was about something else. If I don't see it, I'll post. Yeah, we prolly did the WikiLeaks thing.
  3. I want in! I ain't gots no money, but I'll work the office fer ye for a substantial cut. I remember when I was little and they were doing the trials for the C5-A...I thought that was the biggest thing EVER...I can still remember my awe when looking up at the sky as it flew over. Now, not so much. Funny how that happens, huh?
  4. I just have to add that I think Marines are DA BOMB. If ever I wanted someone in a bad situation with me, it would be they, HANDS DOWN. More even than a special ops type.
  5. Well, cost justified or no (I think there's at least one bridge in the design), I still don't agree with it being built. I hear it will be a two-lane with a divided median at first with room to add a lane on each side. I don't care what it is...it is absolutely unnecessary and a waste. Drivers can just go another mile down the road and take the other way. Chaps my arse, it does.
  6. Honestly, I can't think why anybody would care. My neighbor's kids and grandkids are career military...I think I'll ask them when they're visiting next to get their take on it and if they do object, why.
  7. Well, I know I have...those damned evil libraries with their damned evil books. Sorry to spoil the fun, dearest, but most TP folks I know (including moi) are RABID free-speechers and voracious readers. I personally read somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-200 books a year, and I keep the Cobb liberry system hopping getting books from other branches for me. (And I'm miffed that Cobb now closes all branches on Sundays...I loved my Sunday library visits!) I'm not dissing you, and I'm not saying no TP person ever anywhere said to get rid of libraries, but it's not consistent with t
  8. Well, I like the Christmas banner, but I keep looking for the leaves. I miss my leaves!
  9. Woman, you are not right. My heat has been on for weeks. Literally. But then, I am a reptile.
  10. Well, I've been a weather-watcher since I was knee-high to a grasshopper (my father was a weather nut), and I still have to stop and think about which one it is!
  11. Yeah, I'm not feelin' the rudeness, either, on 200 Images' part. Whatev. I personally would darn well pay $11/hour and more to find the right sort of person to sit with the greatest treasure on earth.
  12. OMG - you evil mother trying to instill a little culture in your child! How dare you! (I think that is wonderbar...what a cute kid.)
  13. Heartstar, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Words cannot do it justice, but know that my heart hurts for you. Dayzee - what a great set of pictures. Thank you for sharing, and thank GOD for protecting that young man!
  14. No way would I provide a photo, on principle. In fact, I'd probably tell them to disregard my application, that I was no longer interested.
  15. Me, neither! Homey don't leave the house 'tween now and Sunday.
  16. I think WFAL is on YOUR side. I don't think she's accusing you of being like those other people...she's saying that people like you are doing the RIGHT thing. I think she's just frustrated at all the focus of Christmas being on GETTING GETTING GETTING, even at the expense of doing the right thing. I am so sorry you're in this position...I'm in a similar situation or I would love to help. I will pray that God sends someone your way to be just the help you need. God bless.
  17. Awwwwwwwww...ain't you sweet! I see somebody came through with the negative for me...thank you, too!
  18. Right back atcha, bub... That's such an awful thing to do, I'm giving myself a negative. Well, crap...I'm all out of negatives...will somebody give me a neggie here?
  19. BTW - I also usually don't listen to wall-to-wall Christmas music till much closer to Christmas, for the same reason as Mariposa. When you've heard the songs 850,000 times by December 20, somehow, it takes the meaning out of it a little bit. HA! Gave you one!
  20. MONEY, baby, MONEY. The advertisers pay radio stations for ads, and if people hear Christmas music, that makes them think of running out to buy gifts. I'm sure that's not the only reason, but that would figure into it. B98.5 snatched that marker up when 94.9 went country a couple of years ago (right in the middle of Christmas, which I thought was one of the more bone-headed moves ever). I mean, I know they got a lot of listeners who tuned in to listen to Christmas music, but folks like me, who really WANTED to hear Christmas music and NOT regular country music, were turned totally off
  21. That old lady made that show, IMHO. All the characters added something to the show, but she's one of those that if she weren't on there, it would have been way less funny.
