  1. Yes, ma'am, you are correct. And isn't that sad?
  2. As Dave Ramsey woudl say, the only way I can answer a question is how I would handle it, and if it was ME, I'd high-tail myself to a good real estate lawyer. He may suggest another survey by another company since yours differs from what's on file with the county. And how much acreage could be involved where the buildings are built? Say it's 1/10 acre...that's only $3000 to have it settled. I'm not saying do that; I'm just trying to think of what a lawyer might think of. At any rate, yes, it'll cost you a few pennies to talk to a lawyer, but look at it this way - better a few pennies now t
  3. I've never seen the show, but my experience has been the same as MCMM's. Not saying the other experiences aren't true, but in a variety of jobs, I've never seen them. The best treatment I ever got was from a mondo corporation (IBM); the absolute worst treatment was from a small family-owned business. More than one, actually. It's a goal of mine to BE a good small business owner, though. I've certainly learned how NOT to do a lot of things from others.
  4. Had ours up for about a week, but still haven't seen one. Anxiously waiting, though!!! Thanks for the pic!
  5. Obviously I have been pwned by mrsdavidj6.
  6. The only one I know of is Acworth First Methodist at 7am.
  7. Oh, yeah. No doubts here. God bless your family.
  8. I happily join the ranks of those of you who know of Subby's excellence with machines. I took him our push mower which I had all but given up for dead, and he completely fixed every single thing on it, and charged a totally reasonable price. I think he should hereby be dubbed "The Machine Whisperer". And we took some old photographs to Nicholas Cole for restoration. The pics were the old-timey kind we all (except those of you who are very organized) have stuffed into boxes. He beautifully restored and enlarged them, and also charged a very reasonable fee. Nicholas isn't a photo wh
  9. I don't have kids and have never dealt with these issues, but I have to say that I found your post, aw2008, totally encouraging. What a sweet attitude. (Also, your avatar makes me laugh. )
  10. Yes, I will still vote no, no matter what. The only tax I have EVER EVER voted for in my life was the fire tax because I believed them when they said it's for the firemen, they'll have what they need, blah blah blah. Somehow they forgot to mention that they were going to take the fire dept. out of the budget and fund it only with the new tax. Fool me once.........
  11. OK, I have to go cry now. I remember the frisbee video...cute dog. I'm so sorry.
  12. NO. And Bentwater was something like 9.??% of the vote in the bond vote where it passed, IIRC. Well, the Shelton precinct, which is Bentwater. Did I mention I'll be voting NO?
  13. Doesn't this sort of underline the spoiled brat part? Esp. after two years...
  14. Oh, sad, sad, sad. I do pray for the person's family, and also for the joggers. Goodness. Too sad.
  15. Wouldn't that have been in the news? Not saying it didn't happen, but that's a pretty gruesome story that would have made a splash I should think. RE: hanging one's self, in the movies, they stand on a chair and kick it out from under themselves.
  16. I have experienced such confusion twice from a hospital (both times being their errors). The second time was so egregious and involved so many thousands of dollars that I absolutely did not owe and their stating things that were not true, that I finally abandoned the phone and took to writing letters, meticulously documenting the details of all previous interactions, the names of people, dates, times, etc., and including copies of each correspondence as needed. In my last letter, after this had dragged on for months and months and months, i told them this was my final attempt to straighten o
  17. I'm guessing this would not hold up if challenged in court, primarily due to the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA). SCOTUS has already upheld several aspects of the law (which seeks to ensure liberty for prisoners and others who seek to practice their religion in places that are not churches), but according to the web site below, the local zoning laws portions are still in litigation. We shall see. I'm an evangelical Christian, but I believe that religious liberty applies to all - Wiccans included. Link to RLUIPA information is here: http://encyclopedia.thef
  18. I don't even have any kids, and they creep me out. I was just about to say that they're right up there with clowns in my Book of Creepiness, but then I saw Reacher's comment, and got the willies even worse. Ice cream truck dude dressed as a clown? That is just wrong.
  19. We have a newish in-ground pool with a saltwater system. I LOVE IT. I have ALWAYS hated swimming pools because of that hideous chlorine smell and feel. This water not only doesn't smell creepy, it feels like silk. If I'm not mistaken, it's more expensive up front (at install), but cheaper on chemicals over the long haul. And healthier, if my information is correct. All I know is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the saline water in our pool and could not bear to think of going to a regular chlorine system. RE: chemicals - you do still have to put some chemicals in from time to time (algaecide in t
