  1. A turkey sandwich with Miracle Whip, dressing and cranberry sauce, a glass of red wine and an alka seltzer.
  2. Thanks for all the blogs and reference articles on "just wars". You have proven my theory that the South was right in their War of Northern aggression. The north put an unbearable tax on cotton going overseas and tariffs on goods coming to the South from Europe. And the when the north invaded the South the citizens took up arms to defend their homes and land. The north ravaged the South destroying everything it couldn't carry off. The South fought a just war but lost due to lack of manpower. Shock and awe still goes on today with our military.
  3. I knew Johnny J wouldn't be down long. You can't keep a tough old bird down. Glad you are recovering but don't over do it. Won't be long before we'll see you up on the square. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
  4. The AJC does give good coverage on sports except they think U. of Georgia is only college team in the world followed by Tech. And when Falcons win you'd think they won the lottery. Too much. Poor Braves don't get coverage they use to but they're not the same team either. As for Cynthia Tucker you can keep her in DC with the rest of the liberals. Way too much to the left. And Jay Bookman needs to just fade away. He needs to go the Washington Post with rest of his socialist, conservative hating idiots. Biggest complaint I have is you never know when they will deliver the paper. I know they conso
  5. Tell JJ to just rest, get well and take advantage of people looking after him for a change. Hate to see this happen to him. Great guy. I don't think you can keep him down long. He'll be up and about before you know it. Prayers to JJ. Does Nathan need anything. Who's looking after him?
  6. One of these days the burglars are going to go to the wrong house and will get smoked (shot). Then the parents or relatives will scream excessive force to stop them and all hell will break loose. Then the ACLU will come in and sue the homeowner. And if the burglar is wounded he/she will sue because they can't work (steal). A policeman told me to make sure the shot is permanent and they are in your house. Mossberg 500 with pistol grip handle is good protection. Don't touch my junk or my possessions. Because of the economy both parents work and leaves the house empty. People need to form neighbo
  7. Got my vote on the peach milkshake. Next would be DQ chocolate malt shake.
  8. A rocket/missile was fired off the coast of California today. Navy said it wasn't them. NASA said not them. Air Force said they didn't fire any missiles. Then they come out and say it wasn't from a foreign country. And it isn't a threat to our national security. Who the'bleep' is running this country? And who the 'bleep' did it? Could be the Mexican drug cartel letting us know to stop messing with their drug shipments. Or is it a private army/navy getting ready for an invasion. But then again it could be the latest toy from Mattel. Conspiracy!!!!!!!!
  9. Just remember it's about the kids and not the parents ego. Kids know who are the better players that are selected for select or classic teams. ALL rec players should have equal time playing so they can learn and be part of team work. Ask a child would they rather have fun or win. They will say win. Always encourage your child even if he or she doesn't live up to your expectations. You can't live your youth through your child. Cuddle them and encourage them. It's their game and not yours. And leave the coaches alone or else get out there and help.
  10. The reason they have it at night is to reenact a NIGHT TIME BATTLE that took place at Pickett's Mill. One of the few that took place during the war of northern aggression Southern independence. Pickett's Mill reenactments for this battle are usually done once a year. They space the tours an hour apart starting at 7:30. Volunteers, both Confederates and Yankees, participate. They buy their on uniforms, guns and equipment. They love the history that made this country great. The original battle in 1864 started about 5 PM when the yanks came up the ravine. They weren't sure where they were and sta
  11. One of the irritated neighbors next to Pickett's Mill called the fire department and said that had a big explosion at the Mill. Of course when they showed up they could not get in at the time because there was a reenactment tour going on. Firemen wouldn't moved their truck so next tour could get in. Lucky our commissioner David Austin was there for a tour and calmly took charge. The fire truck left. Another reason to keep him in office. Seems someone in the nearby subdivision didn't like the noise. Probably a Yankee. Pickett's Mill was there before the subdivisions and they have been doing thi
  12. It is cannon fire. There is a Civil War reenactment of a night battle at Pickett's Mill. One of the few night battles was fought here in Paulding with the Yankees taking about 1,500 casualties. There were three major battles here in 1864. There was the battle of New Hope on May 25, Pickett's Mill on May27, and Dallas on May 28, all of which were in favor of the Confederates. They have three reenactments a night. There is space available for the 9:30 battle on Saturday night and it only cost $10. Give Pickett;s Mill a call. BOOM
  13. Can't say enough praises about Johnny. Met him when we did 2000 census. He was there when I started a remodeling business. Smartest and hardest working carpenter I ever knew. I couldn't keep up with him and always one step ahead. Sure learned a lot from him and it wasn't all about carpentry. Almost watched him fly one day when putting plywood on a house and the wind was strong. Really enjoyed working with him. Could tell you some humorous tales when working with him and his brother Michael.
  14. Last night about 9 Pm there was a kid driving around our neighborhood, parking and then trick-or-treating. When he headed to our house I cut off the front lights and closed the door. Some nerve. Grow up. Earlier had young child with MUCH older sibling wearing mask trick-or-treating. Figured with his size and voice he must be much older or possible a father. The nerve. Halloween is for children. When an adult comes with a child and has no mask but just escorting I always give them candy. On the good side every child said thank you after getting candy. That was respectful and heart warming.
  15. Anyone hear an official fire or police report?
  16. My daughter lives on Davis Mill Dr. South and said fire trucks went down toward the end but didn't know what it was. Said her home shook. Could have been meth lab. Anyone know what happened?
  17. Does any one have the snap on type dentures that just cover your front teeth. I've seen them advertised on TV and where they haev a $49 fisdt time payment. Wonder what the total cost will be?
  18. We had to change to Kaiser. We went to the one on East West Connector. We had Dr. Knox. He was good. Draw back is people working at the front desk have an attitude. They have ALL facilities in each of their locations........x-ray, blood work, pharmacy, etc. One stop shopping for what ails you. All major test like colonoscopy, cat scans, and all specialty test have to be done elsewhere which, sorry to say, is over off 278 and up 400. Draw back was wife had cataract surgery and regular doctor was out so used a female doctor to do pre-op physical. Wife is always nervous so blood pressure was up. T
  19. Did you also see where Barnes claimed on his 2008 and 2009 taxes that he claimed a house he did not own. Maybe his accountant used Turbo tax. Barnes' people bad mouthing Deal's finances has come back to bite him.
  20. In todays Atlanta Constipation there is a SMALL article burned on the back pages about how king Barnes filed taxes in 2008 and 2009 and claimed a house he DID NOT Own. Did he use Turbo tax? When something seems amiss with Deal it's always plastered on the front page. But when Barnes gets caught they bury it. What else can you expect from a liberal rag. Now Deals should come out with an ad that Barnes is not Mr. Clean. I heard Barnes on the news today saying he was going through tough economic times like everyone else. Yeah right mister millionaire. Unemployed people in Georgia struggling to fe
  21. Thank goodness we haven't had to use Clark's ambulance or funeral home. I have heard nothing but praise about his services and about Sam personally. I met him once in Sam's (warehouse and not his business) when he and a couple of his employees were getting supplies for the funeral Home. I mention about using his service one day and he floored me. He was respectful and very informative. I asked if he had a pre-pay plan so we could lock in a cost before it would go up. He said he would work with us any way that would be a benefit to us. I let him know I had insurance but was considering the plan
  22. Surprised that no one is bragging on Georgia beating Tennessee 41 to 14. About time. Now Richt can stay for the rest of the year. How about South Carolina beating #1 Alabama and I mean they BEAT them. What a shocker. Spurrier was smiling from ear to ear.
  23. What have you found in your pool skimmer this summer? That is those that have a pool. First I opened to remove leaves and there was a snake. It was a garter snake about a foot long. It had been cut/peeked right below the head and was dead. Supposedly a bird had killed it and dropped it as it was going to the nest to feed the young. Next I removed the cover and there was a live squirrel sitting on the flap. Must have fallen in and thought that was the way out. Don't know why it didn't use steps. It was as scared as I was. It jumped out and ran up a tree. Lastly I found what I though
  24. You go girl. Always on top of things for Paulding voters. Than's why I supported you. Keep up the good work. (no disrespect on the 'girl' thingy)
