I agree with SUREPIP and LPPT 100%. Do we want to be a second class county just getting by and not growing with the times? Some herein would rather keep us in the past but you can't stop progress. If we have better roads and parks then there is a better chance that people will come and build homes in the half empty subdivisions. And yes it may influence a business to relocate to Paulding thus improving employment and revenue. No one likes raising taxes especially like the idiots now running (ruining) our country. The money stays in Paulding and not sent to Washington. It helps improve our life

I think I just found the other "Old Fart".
-
And I thought I was the only "Old Fart". Great statement. Once when I held the door for a lady she said she was glad to still see a gentleman around. I told her there were only two left in the country. I was one and I don't know who the other was. She just laughed and said glad I lived in Paulding. My Mom taught me to always say please and thank you and my Dad taught me to treat females with respect. Kids today don't do that. Also, an "Old Fart" will always speak to the elderly.

I am writing about my childhood memories and want to have it copy righted. Has anyone ever had an article or story copy righted? If so, how do you do it? The reason is my brother-in-law got a copy of one of our relative's journal from the Civil War, wrote an introduction and then had it printed without the owner's permission. Now he wants to take things from our childhood (my sister and mine) that we have written and have it printed so he can make money from it. I don't think much of this SOB even if he is my sister's husband. A real opportunist. And a bleeding heart liberal.....ugh!

Dick has a lot of management skills and experience and will work to have more trials during the week. Not like Drew that seems to just get by. On one of Donovan's first cases he beat Glenn R. when he was DA and Glenn didn't speak to him for a year. Plumley doesn't have the experience.

How about a Popeye's or a Bojanglesnear 61 and 278 or even in Hiram? Need something besides Kentucky fried or Mrs. Weiners. Wish we could get a Red Lobster.

What about the forecast the other day? Channel 2 said hot and sunny, no rain and a high of 90. That was at 6 AM. At 9 AM it was pouring. They need to get a new crystal ball.

I just knew you weren't a stuffed shirt. Glad to see you cut loose. But don't give up the day job.

Well a big howdy to you and the misses and welcome aboard. At times it will seem like a wild and crazy ride but it is always enjoyable and the people on board are really nice though at times frustrating.

I know this will get some of you going................. PLUG THE HOLE WITH ALL THE ILLEGALS.

Why should you not put lime on centipede? I put out centipede seeds (in sand) several years ago and it is now growing and crowding out (thankfully) the Bermuda grass and any weeds. I was going to put lime down to make it greener. Also two years ago our idiot ACC chairman sent my neighbor and I a letter telling us we needed to cut our grass (Bermuda)........... in JANUARY. There's no monopoly on stupid.

Doesn't get better unless I could get all my children/grands here from out of town.

Agree. Don't know why people like light beer. Might as well drink water. And not any of those sissy named beers either. Real beer must be robust. I like Killian's Irish Red. Now there's a real beer.

As told by the ranger at Pickett's Mill, 'Hell Hole' is off Old Catersville Rd. at the intersection of Bickers Rd. If you go straight across Bickers you can see the trenches. Union troops were pinned down and got slaughtered. When they were clearing the land for houses (first street on left from 381 and Old Cartersville) a relic hunter found lots of mini balls. Seems when union soldiers were trying to load guns the cartridges got wet (severe storms during battle) so they just threw them on the ground. Talk to ranger at PM and he can give you details about battle and where trenches were at NH.

Maybe I missed something but I looked at 8 pages and couldn't find any reference. I know there are area sports programs but they still need middle school sports because the clubs season is different. It also helps some children realize they can compete and possible will pursue sports in high school. Besides club sports have a lot of politics in them and the cost is way higher than if in the schools.

How about Caesar? Then there is Jack, Rex, Boot (if one or more legs are different colors) and at last resorts call him Pubby. I'm sure he would be honored. Or name him after a p.commer that impresses you.

There are a lot of parents that would gladly pay to support their children in middle school sports programs but now that they have dropped the ax how do we keep it going? The state requires only an employee of the school district can be a coach. I came from S.C. and they allowed a parent or relative of a student to assist a teacher or school employee in coaching. Of course the teacher got paid. How do we get the State to allow a parent or relative to coach a sport but not a coach that is paid by a "club" team. I coached junior varsity soccer in S.C. and my son was on the high school soccer var

How old should you be before you stop riding a motorcycle? I see a lot of grey beards riding but don't know their ages. I had a bike when my two children were 2 and 3 (now 32 and 34) and my wife gave me a hard time about possibly getting killed so I sold it. Really want another one if I can get one at a good price. Plan on getting learners permit, ride during the summer and then if I still feel like it get a permanent license. I will go through the course at Earl's first. Keep thinking about a fellow worker that 'T' boned a truck that pulled in front of him and broke his neck.

If you pray...Please say a prayer for my Grandmother
Dallas Bigfoot replied to Caped Crusader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
May God's grace be with her and heal her from any adverse illness. She reminds me of my grandmother. Prayers have been sent. -
I know Drew Lane is running but who are the other two? Drew is one of Richardson's boys. He got Glenn to get Perdue to appoint him and he rides that like a badge of courage and honor. Some kind of political payback. As I said, I was on the grand jury and after Lane came in and spoke we all looked at each other like WTF, who is this guy. He was not impressive and even his assistants acted like they didn't want to be part of his team. One of the assistants was sharp but I understand he has gone into private practice. There has to be somebody other than Lane.

I've heard there are a lot of cases that are not being brought up in a timely manner out of the DA's office. When I was on the grand jury we were looking at cases that were over a year old or longer. That means someone is not getting a fair and timely hearing and the taxpayers are having to foot the bill to house these people guilty or not. When does the DA's office come up again for election?

Has anyone noticed the new grocery store sign is gone
Dallas Bigfoot replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The economy is the reason Food Lion isn't going to put in a store. There is one on 61S at Hiram-Sudie. I heard Hwy 92 from 278 south won't be widened until 2015. If you want better roads you have to support SPLOST vote. -
I had to go to work early but at about 6:30 this AM i heard a lot of sirens going up 61 from Dallas and then one down Old Cartersville going up 61. I just got home to get on p.com. Does anyone know what was going on?

My wife deserves her special day for putting up with children (and me) all these years. I decided to make her a special breakfast. This is her favorite breakfast.....Cajun eggs. Sauté onions and andouille sausage, then add RoTel (diced tomatoes and green chilies); add garlic powder and Creole seasoning, then add in shrimp. In separate pan scramble eggs with dried parsley, Creole seasoning and shredded Monterey jack cheese. Put eggs on plate and pour sausage/shrimp mix over top of eggs then sprinkling chopped spring onions and Monterey cheese. Garnish with fresh fruit. Served with champagne

Are they open on Sundays?
