  1. We had friends that lost Everything in Austell. The water turned their home 90 degrees and moved it 70 feet off of its foundation. They are still waiting to get things settled with it. I had students and co workers that were affected by it. Some had their homes flooded, some were just stranded in their homes due to flooded roads. I had one student tell me that her mom can not cross a bridge in Paulding County without having a panic attack because the mom was stranded on it during the flood and had to be rescued. Getting from our home to our driveway was not easy as our yard had floode
  2. Yes, Hiram beat Osborne...52-6. What were the actual scores of the other games?
  3. Prayers being said for the family. I was going to post that I knew it was not any of the band kids because they left the field at 5:45 today. This is scary as I know Many of the freshman. Will someone please pm me the child's name.
  4. I grew up not far from the tanks in W.Cobb....as in less than 5 miles from them. We always knew there was some danger in case they ever exploded or such. I have no clue where my place here in Paulding County is in relation to the pipelines. I guess if it is my time to go, it is my time to go. I've got bigger things to worry about.
  5. We camped at John Tanner Park in Carrollton this summer and LOVE it. It is close by so that DH can still go to work after we set up camp, has a playground for the little one, putt putt golf, and very clean. Unfortunately, we waited to late there to get a site for the last weekend of the break so we will be staying home this year. I have a prior committment thus why we are going going this next weekend.
  6. Praying that your daughter heals and gets to feeling better soon. Prayers being said for all of those involved in this accident and loss of life.
  7. Thank you. I will keep you in mind. After I posted this last night, he finally calmed down. It also helped that our 16 yr old son started helping him. By 9:30 last night they had the in take off and he was scraping the oil and gunk off of it. Now, it is a matter of getting the new gasket, putting it back on and then putting it all back together. With the temps cooling off and the fact that he goes to work at 11pmish and back home in the morning, we may let the servicing of the AC wait til next Spring.
  8. The in take gasket has gone out on our 2001 Chevy Astro van. DH knows the basics of how to fix it but getting to the part is driving him nuts. He has already taken off the ac and is now telling me that it will no longer have an AC in it once he does get it fixed. Are there any tricks of the trade that anyone can give me to give to DH? Bless his heart, he is getting extremely frustrated with this whole thing. Before someone says something about taking it to a mechanic...we can't afford to, thus why he is trying to fix it. TIA
  9. In case there was someone who had not heard...HHS 24 Douglas Co. 0
  10. I think that I can speak for Working that neither of us meant it as a hardship on BBB and we are not upset with our admin. I think it would be nice if our PTA patronized them and bought goodies from them for each of the teachers/paras/etc. at our school. I know that I would come on here and sing praises for both the PTA at my school as well as how good the goodies from BBB are if that were to happen. In no way at all did I mean anything negative towards BBB. They are the
  11. Me and you both. 2 custom cakes within 3 months and not to mention the weekly Friday stops.
  12. My son is taking his Joshua's Law class on line. It costs us a little over $40. As ridiculous as I thought the class was, he has actually learned quiet a bit while taking the class. Also, don't forget to get the attandance form from the school as well as his certificate from his Adapt class.
  13. I'd like to know the reaction of the admin from that one. I have a feeling, at least one might find it humourous.
  14. I saw the car and sign this morning when I dropped my son off at HHS. On the way home this afternoon, my son...who is about to get his license, was telling how is actually Blake's car and some of the reactions from his peers. I admire Blake's parent for taking this step. I can not imagine how hard this must have been for them.
  15. I wondered what happened? I left work and got caught up in the traffic. Prayers being said for those involved.
  16. Congrats!!!!!!! I love it when good things happen to good people.
  17. Karen, I am sooooo sorry for your loss. The one time I met him, Riley was such a sweetheart. I am afraid every day that I will be in your shoes. We have a 14 yo poodle that is blind but still looses his mama. He goes around sniffing/smelling for me. (((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))
  18. My grandmother had a green thumb like no other. She could grow Anything Anywhere. I would love to have that gift. My thumg is sooo black that hubby will not let me mow the grass. My mom was great at putting up fruits and vegetables. She also made some Wonderful dressing. Neither of these did I manage to learn from her before she passed.
  19. Where do you live to be able to get this? Does your payment vary month to month to account for your electric bill?
