  1. We live in a 16 x 80 mobile home. Last month the bill was $233 this month, is is $295. This is with hubby sleeping during the day, me and at least one of the kids home all day, and the thermostat set on 77 all the time. We can heat much better than we can cool in this thing.
  2. I am glad that you all are able to offer this to the families that need your help. Thank you for providing this.
  3. I agree about the camp fire. I think I will have DH go by the guy in Hiram Suide and see if he will cut us a deal. I called the office about the internet. I think I may actually leave the laptop at home and go through pcom/facebook withdrawals. This could be interesting....my son is taking a friend along with him...that has never been camping. I love exposing kids to new things
  4. Can anyone tell me if Tanner has internet access? Just wondering. Clean bathrooms are a definite plus. We will look into the campground near Cartersville. Thanks for the suggestion.
  5. Thanks everyone. We have a screenhouse that we take with us. Not so sure hubby will care for the close campsites. He likes his space. Finding firewood at this time of the year could be interesting. Nice to know we can take a good warm shower. Fishing poles and such are a given for us. Ms.G, we had planned on going camping at Stone Mtn but they have taken away most of what we consider the really good pop up sites and we wanted to try something new. If we are going camping, it is going to rain...just part of life. Is there a camp store in the campground?
  6. We are going to Tanner State Park in Carrollton this weekend. We have never been there before. Is there anything we need to know about this park before getting there? Are there any stores around or should we get everything before we get near there? We are taking our pop up. TIA
  7. I certainly Don't like the idea of T-Mobile going under. We have been with them for about 5 yrs and LOVE them. Their coverage fits my needs, their customer service is wonderful. My bill is the same every month as long as I don't do things to make it go up...use 411, down load stuff....this is more than I can say for at least one of the other providers that we have used in the past. As far as the other companies...I'm not at all surprised at some of them at all. RedBox has also hurt Blockbuster.
  8. My family and I are going to the GA aquarium tomorrow. One of the people we are going with thinks that we can see everything in about 3 hours. Keep in mind that I'm going with people ranging in ages 62-4 yrs old. I will personally have to see it via a wheelchair due to my recent surgery. Are there any do's, don'ts, or any suggestions that anyone can give me. The person paying for this refuses to buy tickets on line...something I highly recommended from looking at their site. Also, is the gift shop out of reason price wise? TIA.
  9. Thank You Msgastorm and Shano6. Now, my next question...how do you make granny squares? Sorry...I know the one basic stitch and that is all. I have a book, but I would do MUCH better if someone sat beside me and taught me.
  10. What size needles do you suggest for a beginner? What type and such yarn do you suggest? I'm fine with just making something simple right now. I need to occupy my mind and my hands. I'm 3 weeks post op and am looking at another 3 weeks or more to go. TIA.
  11. I would pay off the debt sooo fast it would be unbeliveable. Although, I like the idea of putting $1000 into savings and then paying off/down the debt with the rest. I to would not tell hubby about what I was doing if at all possible. I have one that likes to spend as well and I squeak when I walk . I would LOVE to be able to put my house payment and student loan money in the bank every month. Then again, it is the monthlys that get us...electric, storage, gas, groceries, daycare, etc.. If I could find away to get someone to pay those life would be Really good .
  12. I was also wondering if Rockmart was going to have the festival and fireworks like they did last year. That was sooo much fun last year.
  13. Our bill was 133 last month and 252 this month. Honestly, being that I live in a mobile home, this was actually a little less than what I was expecting. We are use to power bills of about 300 during the summer. We keep our thermostat set on 77 24/7.
  14. They did a beautiful and Delicious castle cake for my youngest 4th birthday back in April and DH has them doing a cake for my 40th this Saturday. It just occured to me and my son that we had not had our Bumble Bee fix since school got out....lucky for us, DH brought home some goodies from there when he stopped to order my cake ...YUUMMOOO.
  15. Our's went from 133 to 252. That is not as bad asI expected. The kids and I have been home almost every day since school got out, we had company, had the camper plugged up, etc.. I honestly expected it to be at least 300.
  16. Hope things are going well for you. My surgery was laproscopic so that makes quiet a bit of difference for me. My guys have been really good about things as well. At least you are not by yourself in being bored. Lady Raider, I had the plumbing and some accessories taken out.
  17. I managed to get a shower...a huge accoplishment. Other than that, I haven't done much of anything since I had surgery on the 16th. Well, I have managed to irritate the everything out of hubby and our son. We are having friends over for supper tonight..hubby is doing most of the cooking.
  18. Do they have signs up as to where to go to vote? I'm having surgery tomorrow and want to make sure that my vote is counted...not sure if I'll be up and able to by the time the real voting comes along.
  19. She is Adorable!!!!! Congrats.
  20. I was up there today picking up son's attendance form for his dl and was told the same thing. The lady in the office was kind enough to look up his grades/transcript for him so that he would know if he had a life this summer...(if he fails his summer is mine and no dl....if he passes he gets to have some fun and his dl). The lady said something about the counselors having to verify all of the transcripts.
  21. We had to replace our hot water heater last week and we have a couple of broken lawnmowers in the yard. We just need to get rid of these. Whoever takes these will need to come pick them up. Any suggestions or takers?
  22. Thank you. I would lots rather give her these items than the big place in Hiram.
  23. Does anyone know if she is open today? I have several bags of clothes and such to donate. Thanks.
  24. I used Consumer Credit Counseling Services many (as in at least 13) years ago and had good success with them.
