In regards to cutting the arts...research shows that students that are in the Arts have better grades. This is proven true by the fact 3 of the top 4 of Hiram's graduating class this past Spring were either in Band or Chorus or both. We used a heated mattress pad as well. It seems to heat up faster than the electric blanket. The only down fall I see to the mattress pad is washing it. I read the washing directions on mine last night and it seems to be a real pain.

I compleltely agree. They played a good game against Hiram last night but unfortunately, their penalities literally killed them. They had 2 TDs called back because of penalities and Hiram was able to hold them back and keep them from getting them back. Pope is creative with their plays..on one of them the players didn't pay attention to where they were in regards to the line of scrimage. I will say that Hiram had a lot less penalities last night than they did in the beginning of the year.. I think the loss to East kicked Hiram in the butt. That was a game we didn't want to loose and

Seeing any Paulding County Band trying to pull off a Show Band show would be intersting. Our bands are all GREAT at the kind of marching and performing that they do. I just can't see them pulling off a Show Band show. I have to admit that I Really liked it 3 yrs ago when the Band of Gold did their Chicago show/tunes. It was nice hearing tunes that I actually know. I have to admit that it would be nice to hear some new tunes added to the stand tunes. My own tuba playing son is playing the same stand tunes that I played at McEachern 20 years go.

In regards to High School Football Region Play Ins Who plays who next week and what are their records? I have read on facebook that Hiram plays Villa Rica but I have no idea of Villa Rica's record. Other teams in the county?

Osborne's band is a Show Band. This is very different from what most of us are used to seeing. My understanding is that this is a very common style with mostly black/ African American bands. I completely agree that Osborne's band is AMAZING!!!!! Thanks for adding the video.

Zoo, would you mind teaching me as well? I have watched the videos and I just don't get them. I am the type of person that needs someone right there with me to tell me how to do the next step. I agree. I have a friend's child in one of my classes now and I honestly don't enjoy it. It is nice to have friends in the building to watch over your child, but being their teacher is a very different story. My daughter will also be going in to K next year and at this point, I'm simply trying to decide what school I want her to attend. Thank you. Our kids were really bummed that they didn't place better. They Truly wanted to send Dr. Davis out with another Grand Champion or at the very least 1st in their class....2nd just isn't good enough for them in their eyes. Next Sat. we host the GIBC...in case you are in the need to sit out in the cold and watch more band compete . We have 16 bands committed to be there.
