  1. chemistry project gone wrong?????
  2. Well, I guess it might not be a suprise anymore if he reads p.com..............
  3. Perhaps as someone that deals with this on a daily basis I was concerned that you were getting a bum rap on the cost. Get a grip!
  4. Yes, I was about to ask the same thing. My daughter's is about six thousand a treatment (Remicade) which fortunately our insurance covers. When we were waiting for the insurance to decide we were contacted by Centecor about their assistance program. There are also a couple in clinical trial right now that you may be able to get on for free if you meet the criteria they are looking for. Hijack over
  5. Just discussing with my daughter. A little worried about parking for this one.
  6. North Paulding defeats Paulding County East Paulding defeats South Paulding Hiram defeats Douglas County--GO HIRAM Tiebreaker: East Paulding 28 South Paulding 6
  7. Never!!!!!!!!!! I have seen what five high school girls can do and I would probably have to hock my car to feed your pack!
  8. Really? I did not realize he had hours out here. I am going to have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up!
  9. The ones that stayed after Katrina on the Gulf Coast will not leave. Many were there for Camille (either as adults or children). Hurricanes are a way of life and knowing that you could loose everything you own comes with the territory. You learn to have less attachment to material items. The beauty of the region or the life you grew up with compensates somewhat for the potential loss. Then there is, of course, the arm length list of insurances that you can purchase (which is another story in and of itself). I am not blowing smoke on this one either. Lost it all in Camille, stayed until
  10. We use the doctors at Piedmont (both my husband and I). There is a satellite office in Austell (we see Dr. Desai). They work out of a very nice cardio lab at the hospital for regular testing and procedures but if you require more extensive work you may to Piedmont. Having a heart condition and reading your symptoms I would recommend you follow another posters advice and call the office this morning to relate the issues to them. If you are not happy with your current cardiologist call and make an appointment with a new one stressing with the desk that you are having issues--they may see you
  11. I did not watch because I knew the slant would be about New Orleans........not the gulf coast where three quarters of the county I grew up in was under water or where ninty percent of the homes were destroyed or where five years after the storm there is only one major grocery store in the town (a walmart)........You don't see much about the folks in Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson county because between the help from thousands of volunteers and their determination they are rebuilding their lives....I guess that media does not sell.
  12. People that use children and senior citizens to support their life styles need to learn the life style of a prison from the inside out for a very very long time...........
  13. That made me laugh. You are right! I can just see Dagmar saying "Doo Bee"
  14. 1. Mike is the BEST 2. We have ATT but are looking to switch. Too many dropped calls.
  15. If you don't mind the wait, Gumbeaux in Douglasville is good. Cajun though, not sure if that will do for you. With the economy the way it is, we have just started doing boils at our house (Whole foods for fresh seafood).
  16. Two couches, numerous books, many shoes, two tv remotes, one cell phone, a coffee cup (?), and my sanity.......but we love her. (nine month old rescue)
  17. Between the traffic and the number of people at Hiram I am really wondering how many sutdents are enrolled there this year? There were lines out the doors of classrooms with students/parents waiting to see teachers and get schedules. One thing though, the addition is amazing. The halls are very wide without those doorway obstructions in them and the new band room is like something out of an architecture magazine.
  18. Checkout Atlanta Downtown Restaurant Week. Think it runs through the eighth. Bunches of restaurants, great prices (fixed menu). We do it every year to try someplace that we might not normally go. (There is also a midtown restaurant week (or two) a little later on).
  19. I never put two and two together until just now. The night my Uncle, the one born with the veil, passed my Father was at home with me (my Mom was with him as we "knew" this was the end from his words). Before bedtime our dogs started barking and my Dad went to see what was outside......it was a large black dog that we had never seen before. It was sitting under our yardlight looking at the house. My Dad went out to check things out and the dog would not come to my Dad but he would not run away either (we lived out in a rural area). The next day when we got up to leave the dog was gone and
  20. Where I am from we call it being born with the veil. My uncle was and he was able to tell many of us things that were going to happen to us in the near future as well as letting us know when he was going to die. You writing that is the first time I have heard anyone mention that gift in a long time.
  21. I also had a great experience with A Friendly Geek. Our laptop decided to bite the dust. We brought it to Mike and less than 24 hours later we picked up our healthy, much faster laptop. As well as fixing the computer, he also gave my daughter and I some great tips. We will definetly be using "A Friendly Geek" for all our our computer servicing needs! Thanks Mike!
  22. That is where we went when Nebo first openened (our oldest daughter went there). Then our youngest wound up at Panter. We used to say Nebo was built for our subdivision.......guess the school board got the last laugh on that one! Which house are you looking at? (My next door neighbors house is for sale)
  23. Well, my daughter went to Panter, Dobbins, and is now at Hiram. Did you check out the district map at the board of education site? (In case the elementary or middle changed since we were there.) By the way, here's hopefully a "welcome to the neighborhood". You know, I should have asked........did you mean Carrington Point at Lake Swan?
  24. Many experimental, test, new treatments on the market are covered by the manufacturers. Wonder why these experimental treatments are not covered. Also why would this little girl not have a Katie Beckett waiver? I have several friends whose children are covered by this due to the extremely high cost of their medical care. Sorry to seem to skeptical because my heart aches for the little girl who must live with this, I just question the basis for the fund raising.
  25. Your husband is very nice! Please tell him thank you from those of us that have appreciated (personally) all of the hard work that they do for the children. They have had a big impact on my daughter both in and out of the hospital.
