    Rhubarb

Has anyone noticed rhubarb for sale in stores around here? I have been looking for it but haven't found any. I asked the produce guy at Food Depot last week and he had no idea what I was talking about. I tried growing it once but it didn't work out. It must be a northern thing! I have been seeing a lot of rhubarb recipes lately so it must be either in season or will soon be in season. I love it.
  3. I'm not sure where exactly at the courthouse you would go (sorry). I would go there and tell the person at the front desk what you need and they should be able to direct you. I know there is a person sitting at the building where you go get your tags renewed. NOt sure about the other building.
  4. I would start at the court house and see if they have contact info on the property owner. I would be nervous about people coming and going over there, too, especially with small kids at your house. If you can at least find out the owner's name, you could try MSN white pages and look him up. It would be a start anyway.
  5. I wasn't sure if I could use Pampered Chef in the title so I went with spoiled cook.
  6. Does anyone know if Pampered Chef products have any kind of warranty as far as a part breaking and it being replaced for free? I know that if the stoneware breaks, you can give pieces back and they give you a new one. I have an egg slicer that broke when I sliced strawberries Monday. I only use it for strawberries or slicing mushrooms. One of the thin metal "slicers" snapped and I was wondering if they could replace that piece. I can't remember who I bought it from though (or even when/how long ago I bought it). Thanks!
  7. We used to have Pergo in our old house and I always just used a bucket with either cider vinegar or ammonia in water. I washed it down with a wet rag that I had wrung out (yes, on my hands and knees - the house was small). It never left streaks. I went back to cleaning my hardwoods on my hands and knees in our current house using Murphy's Oil Soap and water. A mop does not clean it very well and I like getting in the cracks and corners with a wet rag. Now I have a question. We are having tile installed tomorrow in our kitchen/hallway/bathroom/laundry room. Can I clean it with Murph
  8. My brother in law looked in to having someone come to my mother in law's house to help her out but it was going to be $200 per day. So she lives in assisted living in the memory care unit. They take good care of her 24/7 if she needs help with anything.
  9. Publix sells un-stuffed cannoli shells that aren't too bad. I make my own filling and throw it in.
  10. I've always heard you shouldn't plant until after Good Friday/Easter. There must be some truth to it. I think it was in the Farmer's Almanac about planting later, too.
  11. I think that's where I'll wind up. Thanks for the info.!
  12. My original birth certificate was from the hospital and it has my foot prints on it and my mom's thumb prints. It once had some sort of seal on it but after 51 years of being in a filing cabinet, it is totally flat and you can't read what the seal ever said. I'm pretty sure it is a hospital seal and not a seal from the state of Illinois. Anyway, I have used that one all of my life for anything I needed to do - marriage certificate, original driver's license, state board exam for cosmetology, enrollment in school (grade, middle and high). On the back of it, it says that it should be used for id
  13. I don't think you can renew on line until you go in once and show all of your ID information. I think the NEXT time I renew, I can do it on line.
  14. My license expires this month, too and I have all the stuff I need to take with me to get it. I just don't know where to go. I will have to go on a Friday and I'm sure the Cobb Co. office will be backed up early. I don't know how to get to the other places in Rockmart, Carrollton, etc.
  15. I am from Illinois and have lived in Ga for almost 26 years. I say things that my co-workers don't understand but it makes perfect sense in Illinois. I "shut" the light instead of turn it off. A toboggan is a wooden sled, not a hat. A buggy is something you push a baby around in, not food. Also, I lived in Michigan for about a year and picked up the habit of saying "are you coming with us or no". instead of "or not". My family says "gotta-get-a" (as in "I gotta get a shoe rack for this closet) if they're going to the store or to another room to get something and I'm told that's weird
  16. My gardenia is dead, too. Is it ok to cut off all the dead leaves, etc. and make it come back to life?
  17. Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. It's funny but kind of a mystery, too.
  18. Try Five Below in Hiram. They have all kinds of retro and regular candy. They carry stuff I haven't seen since I was a kid.
  19. We have a 32" LED Viseo from Wal-Mart. It has wifi so we can get Pandora on it. We like it. It has a nice, clear picture.
  20. I always feel bad for the tow truck people because they have to see all the aftermath of a wreck. Thanks to them for getting the road clear.
  21. You are right - the area was too big and filled in to be a skid mark. The trucks are very aggressive but the cars need to be a little more careful driving around them. Everyone is in such a big hurry on that road.
  22. It wasn't at the intersection, it was up past it going toward Hiram. It took me about 45 minutes to take the detour to Hiram Lithia Springs Road and then home. I passed a huge spot on the road this morning that, even in the dark, looked bad. It looked like it was in the middle turn lane though. I wonder what happened. Edited to say that I just went on the news site and the crash was in the right lanes, not the middle. Not sure what that mess was that I saw this morning but it was in the same area. Anyway, I feel bad for the families of the people involved in this.
  23. although I have a fb account to see pictures of sister's kids, I also don't know how to twitter or even text. It drives me crazy. I turn off fb a couple times a month because I can't stand it. People asking to be my "friend" when the COULD have been my friend 33 years ago in high school but weren't. Screw 'em. I just noticed one from my cousin in NJ who posted something on Saturday saying she was in town for her son's game at GA Tech. Tough. Call me or you miss out. I'm such a rag today! But I agree whole heartedly with your post, Stonewall.
