  1. Remember that scene from Top Gun?
  2. Try wiping the counters with vinegar.
  3. Your school should know. Won't hurt to ask. Hope did pay for our son's technical school program several years ago.
  4. Probably wouldn't hurt for more men to be super nice.
  5. I know, right? We weren't going to watch last year, until Jake showed up on the show, then we "had" to. She says he really is a super nice guy.
  6. DD works for the same airline as Jake. After saying we'd never watch the show again, we will watch this time , but maybe, never again...
  7. We even had it happen at the Rio Grande River gorge when we went out west. About 5 young people (teens, early 20's) were asking for money for gas and there were no gas stations anywhere nearby. I asked them, "why in the world did you all leave home without enough money among you to buy gas to get you back?" A few years ago, we were helping our DD move back to GA from FL and were traveling in 2 cars. At one service station, a man approached her asking for money. I was at the pump on the opposite side and I chewed him out. There were several men (including my DH) pumping gas and he did
  8. Happy New Year, Rafe! And, Happy New Year to one and all!
  9. We each got one for Christmas (the single, not the double). I think I'm allergic to it - every time I put it over me, I fall asleep!
  10. They are illegal in Cobb, too. If you put them out after 6:00 pm on Friday and pick them up by 6:00 pm on Sunday, they might not catch you, but I have seen them removing signs even on the weekends, even yard sale signs. Don't know what the penalty is. I guess it's best not to chance it.
  11. Vegetable soup made from the Honey Baked ham bone and cornbread.
  12. The JC Penney's in Hiram had them before Christmas. DD got a really nice cherry one.
  13. Congratulations!! What a great Christmas present!
  14. My neighbor's child would only eat peanut butter and honey that the mom mixed together, out of a bowl with a spoon. The doctor said it was fine as long as she was eating something. I think she only ate that for a year or so. She grew into a beautiful young lady. Hubby's cousin as a child/teen would only eat ketchup, rice, and/or a McDonald's hamburger. For years, we thought she would surely just starve to death. She didn't start eating regular food until after she married and learned to cook for her hubby. (Her mom was a wonderful cook, too!) When she was about 8, her mom told her
  15. We sent her a Christmas card with Santa's photo on it. I hope she likes it!
  16. I saw this on The Doctors last week. Same thing, child would not eat. Doctor said not to put any food on the kid's plate. Everyone else sit down and eat normally, but do not offer the child any food. Let him sit there in front of the empty plate. Carry on a conversation with everyone else, but ignore the child. Do not offer him food. The parents made comments like, "Oh, this chicken is so good. Honey, would you like more?" Within minutes, the child was asking for food. He even asked for apples, and he had never liked apples before. He ate very well. May be worth a try.
  17. Yes, and I double the number needed.
  18. Don't forget the transportation industry. Those planes are not flying themselves (my daughter and many, many others are) and sure, she would like to be home with the family, but this is the job she chose knowing she would not be home on every holiday. But, she is happy to safely get your family to you.

    Santa

I'll tell him to expect them. He has a lot of teens and college age kids who come every year to have pictures done with Santa. Family traditions. He brought home a picture tonight for our Santa scrapbook of 3 teen age girls with him, who were all just into soooo posing! It was such a fun photo - one of them put her big sunglasses on him (and he had on his Santa glasses, too!) Hilarious!! We love photos for our scrapbook.

Awww, that's so sweet. Thank you for posting! He absolutely loves the interaction with the children. He tells me stories every night about the kids who came to see him.

    Santa

Well, I'm quite proud of my Santa. I knew he would be good at this because I know his heart. We attend Santa School each year and as Charles W. Howard (founder of the Santa School) said, "He errs who thinks Santa enters through the chimney. Santa enters through the heart." Can you post a picture?
  24. Just have them laser removed. Pricey, but if you don't want it anymore, why change it to something else? Money well spent!
