    Racoons

We had a raccoon once that seemed to have been someone's pet and they turned it loose in our woods. It would come right up to us and eat our of our hand (well, DH's hand - I was skeered of it!). It climbed on our porch roof, chewed a hole through the screen of our bedroom window and would knock on the window wanting in. We have a skylight in our shower and one morning just before daybreak I was in the shower and heard a knock on the skylight above me. Yep, that raccoon was watching me - I almost had a heart attack! They are cute, but they are destructive, and squirrels are, too!

    Racoons

Raccoons will eat cat food, corn, bird seed (I see them every night hanging on my feeders), anything they can find, except maybe red cabbage. I threw some out for the critters and none of them ate it - raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, possums, coyotes, deer - nothing ate it! Should that tell us something?
  3. The Square is beautiful for a wedding. There is a fee of $125 per hour for the gazebo, $300 per hour for the bandstand.
  4. Aspartame has many, many side effects, including causing seizures. Diet drinks should never, ever be given to children. Good luck with your withdrawal from this awful stuff!
  5. Decide what your specialty is - weddings, children, formal portraits, etc. Then be sure you've got good samples to support your work. Maybe put together a wedding album and see if you can leave it with a bridal shop for display. Of course, you have to have permission of the families involved, and you'll need a model release signed by those whose photos are being shown. You may have to pay the shop a fee for displaying. Perhaps a children's store would allow display of childrens' photography. There again, be sure you have your model release(s). Be sure your displayed photos are of excelle
  6. Do they have the spa pedicure massaging chairs?
  7. Mom always said I was all legs!
  8. Cobb County voted for that 'turf' on one of the SPLOST votes, so the school board is going to put that turf in whether anyone really wants it or not! They approved it yesterday. And no, I did not vote for the SPLOST!
  9. Grilled corn on the cob, grilled pineapple, grilled fruit kabobs, baked sweet potatoes, or diced white or gold potatoes and onions with butter, salt & pepper, wrapped in foil and cooked on the grill, too. Now I'm hungry!
  10. Bananas and raisins have a lot of potassium in them. I eat them when I have leg cramps. I've never heard that drinking less water would increase your potassium level. I'd say go to your doctor and avoid us pcom docs!
  11. You can probably rent the costume from Eddie's Trick Shop on the square in Marietta.
  12. This is my opinion of all snakes: If it doesn't rattle, it must be a Cobra!
  13. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge (the Inn at Christmas Place), Cades Cove, Clingman's Dome.
  14. That's the one! But I think those are weather related 'houses' not bee hives.
  15. Good to know he's out and about!
  16. Just wondering about the Waving Man. We haven't seen him lately, but recently saw several people around his house, including children playing on the porch. Hope he is well, miss seeing him!
  17. Awww....she really is beautiful! Congrats!
  18. You might try the Log Cabin Church in Smyrna.
  19. Go to the next safe place, turn around and come back. But then, I have seen someone on the Interstate miss their exit, stop in the left lane, back up, causing cars in both lanes to head for the median and the shoulder, so they could get off at 'their' exit!
  20. I use olive oil and dry ranch dressing mix. Mix them together and marinate or brush while you cook.
  21. It works best if you bathe with it right after exposure. Just keep a bar on the sink ready to go. It still works after you break out, soothes the itchiness. Also, the Aveeno Oatmeal bath helps, too.
  22. This place is beautiful! I've been to several events there. It is completely private, plenty of places to park, indoor and outdoor pavilions, nice lake, and it's in the middle of pastures. You can do your own decorations, catering, etc. It could be just what you're looking for!
  23. Congratulations! You'll do great!
