  2. Raising and waving hand wildly.... I know, I know! But I've already won 2 tickets!
  3. What about one of the hardback books you can make with photos of your trips together - from Shutterfly, Walmart, etc. Several places can make those.
  4. !! When I was preggers, I craved tuna. I would get up at 6:00 am and make tuna salad and eat 3 or 4 sandwiches for breakfast! Funny, I don't care much for tuna anymore!
  5. Hope to see all of you Friday evening!
  6. Santa and I appreciate that!
  7. Yes, but don't tell anyone.....
  8. You might try Eddie's Trick Shop on the square in Marietta for costume rental. I have my own, but they are custom made.
  9. I don't think the lineup is going to make any difference. You'll have to get there early to find parking and a place from which to watch, and you won't be able to go anywhere until the parade is over anyway. Just plan on coming and making a day of it!
  10. Santa will be at the tree lighting in Old Town Hiram on Friday night, 6-9 pm. Check out photos at santaonthesquare.com
  11. We've been a few times. The food has always been good, and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault! Portions are huge!
  12. I don't think you can legally work anywhere in GA if you're younger than 14. Age 14 has to have a work permit and there are stipulations as to where someone that young can work.
  13. Bless her heart! Where did she find them?
  14. I love the Carpenter's Christmas collection. Karen Carpenter had an amazing voice.
  15. Start by knowing your ancestors as far back as you can, ie, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grand... etc. If you google that name, you will be surprised what will show up. If you know the brothers, sisters, etc. that will help, too. Ask your oldest living relatives who they know/remember to help verify info. Some old family Bibles will usually have some info, too. The Mormon Church has done extensive research on many, many families. (The Mormon Church in Marietta (near McEachern High School has a library you can use, too. Hubby spent a lot of time there searching his family
  16. Out West, they have huckleberry pies everywhere! And, huckleberry jelly, jam, candy, etc., etc., etc. Regional foods, I guess.
  17. You could do a blueberry cobbler. Melt 1 stick of butter in an oven safe dish (9x13, or 8x12, etc). Mix together: 1 cup self rising flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk. When butter (or margarine) is melted, pour mixture into dish. Do not stir. Pour in 2 cans blueberries (not blueberry pie filling). Do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees 35-40 minutes, until top is browned and crust looks done in the center. (Crust comes to the top!) You can use any fruit for this cobbler. I've made it with everything you can think of! It's really good, and you can serve with ice cream if
  18. And, your final answer is...........
  19. OOPS!! Somebody else chime in here. I think I've already won 2 tickets!
  20. My neighbor owns Silver Comet Roofing . He has been in the building business for many years but recently started a separate roofing company. He has built many homes, supervised Habitat for Humanity homes, and is a great, honest guy!
  21. One time (years and years ago) my cousin called her mom to pick her up at school because she was sick. Her mom left work, drove right by the school, saw Deb on the school steps waiting, wondered why Deb was outside the school, went home, changed clothes, started cleaning house, when Deb called her and said, "Mom, why didn't you pick me up? I saw you drive by."
  22. I think it is. The elf reports back to Santa each night with the happenings of the day.
