  1. Have you read Life as we Knew It? If not, don't. It makes these kinds of stories take on a whole different meaning
  2. The stupid little twist-ties on toys. Granted, they've gotten better over the years, which I appreciate since we spent one Christmas Eve night unraveling twist ties until 4am. However, if I need a screwdriver to get the dang toy out of the box, you've done me no favors as a company.
  3. Big Ten Tire: oil change/tire rotation for $18.99 There is one in Hiram on 278 and in Acworth on 41.
  4. I know what you're talking about. I loved that stuff, esp. the peach. When I was trying to find the name, this came up: I remember this being not only the nastiest tasting stuff, but the little floating balls made me absolutely sick. ETA: According to Wikipedia, this was also made by Clearly Canadian.
  5. I am not a lawyer, but generally a business worries about being liable when something they have done caused injury to the customer (such as a spill, broken chair at a restaurant, etc.) Since he opened the box himself, I don't think they're responsible for anything, and I have a feeling his lawyer will tell him as much.
  6. That's where it was. Husband and I have been racking our brains because we knew that we saw a sign for one when we came back from PCB, but couldn't remember where we saw it!
  7. I made fried apple pies for dessert, so I went ahead and made that dinner for myself The kids had lasagna, broccoli, and watermelon.
  8. Ha! I was so hoping this thread was that someone else had noticed that Vinnie's aunt that visited last season is a dead ringer for Dina Manzo (and he called her Aunt Dina). I've never been able to track down whether that was the same one or not, but I've wondered about it since then.
  9. Mine will likely be getting one for Christmas this year. I had always said we'd wait until she was 13, but after several sleepovers and parties last year, I hated her not having a phone she could use specifically to call me without having to ask to borrow one. But, like yours, I'm thinking the novelty will be off very quickly And, I agree about the spa days. The party you guys had this year was awesome, and I think it was just perfect for a group of 'tween' girls
  10. We need a New Hope caravan Next time I want to try the coke cake. I saw on their flier that they had Chess pie; I must get one of those as well
  11. I bet I know which spa you were at
  12. That makes me feel better because we also spent about $10. We got: chocolate doughnut sprinkle 'doozie' red velvet cupcake Amaretto cupcake cream-cheese brownie The kids had the doozie and doughnut and both loved them. I've just had bites of the brownie and cupcake and will save the red velvet for the husband, who will inevitably ask how I managed to spend $10, but only have 1 cupcake left when he gets home
  13. We were coming from Douglasville and turned right onto Ridge there at the Kroger. I think it was just a few miles down, before you get to PB Ritch.
  14. We finally got over there today, after wanting to for months. First, their cream-cheese brownies were wonderful--so creamy with a great chocolate flavor. But, the amaretto cupcake? Oh.my.gosh. I think for my birthday, I'll just have a box of those Very friendly service and everything we got was just wonderful. We'll definitely make it that way (what feels like the other side of the world for those of us in N. Paulding) again
  15. I was telling my teacher friend this exact.same.thing. It's so funny because we look to control every little damn in the movies we show, but the PG back then is totally different from PG now. Karate Kid was the movie I used in comparison as well. Good to know I wasn't the only one to notice
  16. Have you tried The Steakhouse out in Rockmart? It's one of those 'off the beaten path' kind of places, but their prime rib is amazing. I think they're only open 4pm-10pm on the weekends. Personally, I always loved the prime rib at Frontier House in Rockmart, but my husband didn't care for it as much.
  17. I'm thinking that Copeland's does a lunchtime prime rib, but I'm not 100% sure. There's always Ruth's Chris, and they have a location in Kennesaw now.
  18. There's no way. They must be doing some kind of modified schedule (longer days, maybe?). They have a week off for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for Christmas, 1 week in March (only kids who need remediation will attend), 1 week in April for Spring Break, and then they get out for Memorial Day. I'm too lazy to count the days, but I know that's not 180.
  19. Stars and Strikes? I would advise against US Play. That place has gone so downhill and had just a pittance amount of games (and were way more expensive that S&S).
  20. I guess it's pretty safe to say that my kids won't be getting to try the CinnaMinions anytime soon
  21. Wow! I just went out to the grill and the skies are beautiful blue, but there is thunder rumbling in the distance with some giant white clouds bubbling up. Should be an interesting evening.
  22. This is the great irony of the entire situation. One of the myriad reasons we were attacked is because we DO have freedoms in this country. Among the most hated by those who attacked us are freedom of religion and speech. Yet, there are some who purport to be proud Americans but still want to squelch those very freedoms for only a select group of people. I can not wrap my head around that.
