  1. Had a Chili dog, which was pretty good, but I love just a good old cheeseburger.
  2. Hope it goes well! We're on the other end of the county, not sure we'll be able to get down there.
  3. I'm only a couple of miles from there and having to work hard not to go too often. Love their Cheeseburgers!
  4. I liked the food at Freddy's, but it was kinda pricey for me.
  5. I was amazed to read just how difficult this rescue is. To have enough air for the boys and their divers to get out, extra air bottles are having to be taken deep into the cave and piled up in various places so they can switch tanks on the way out. There are heavy currents in some places and the water is very dirty and hard to see most of the time. The rope from the outside all the way back to the team's location is the only way to find their way in and out. I read that the diver lost was on a mission to drop off the air tanks, he ran out of air on the way back out. These kid
  6. I was very allergic to Yellow Jacket stings for 5-8 years after getting stung by 10 of them at one time, (I'm still a little allergic) so I nuke with intent to kill any stinging insect nest I see. This year has been bad for wasps, I've had 3 nests on the front porch and 1 in front of the living room windows.
  7. Shoot bottle rockets at it. That's what we did to the one on my friends house. (Long before bottle rockets were legal in Ga)
  8. Factory Appliance Service seems to be hit or miss. Had a Maytag washer one time that fill valve cracked and was leaking water and wouldn't fill the washer. Code NF on the computer (No Fill). Easy to fix, but I was about to go out of town for the week, so told the wife to call the Maytag 1-800 number and get someone to replace it. Fast Forward to Friday. Guy has been out, "have to order parts" and haven't seen him since. Claims the computer is faulty as well since it put our a code. (Duh, it's telling you what's wrong!) If I'd just ordered the valve, I could have replaced it tha
  9. Note to self.... stay away from Samsung... i like fixing it myself for most jobs...
  10. Dallas city hall can always raise taxes on the homeowners in the city if they want something.. why should they care?
  11. I'll believe that price when ;they start delivering at it. Ga Power told us that Plant Vogel would cost half of what's it's costing at this stage of the process as well. If you believe everything a marking guy tells you, you are doomed for disappointment.
  12. Man, hard to pick just one.... How about people who do 40 MPH in a 55 MPH road where there are curves and no passing zones, but speed up to 60 MPH on the straightaways where it's safe to pass. Microsoft software where the "upgraded" release does less, with more errors and much more slowly than the last release. Any software updates to a perfectly good program that force you to use features that you don't want. i could go on...
  13. I for one am all about 2nd amendment rights, but have absolutely no issue with laws about having to lock up the weapons. Too many kids getting in trouble with guns that they took without permission.
  14. yes, the home office (literally a home) is on 61 North just north of the elem school.
  15. From a comment from a friend, found one that is a breaker and a surge protector. I've been wanting to put in a sub panel anyway, so I may go that route. Will still have to find something for the cable and the phone, but having it do both functions will same me some space.
  16. Yes, Sonny's Trash Service or something like that as the official name, but it's the Black family.
  17. Been using Sonny's for the 18 years we've been here with no issues. However, I'm not sure how big an area they service.
  18. We have too many electronic items to go around unplugging stuff any more and the @#$%@#$%#$ insurance company has pushed the home deductible to $2000, great if you are getting a roof replaced, but crazy for a lighting strike down the street. So I'm looking at adding some whole house protection. Greystone offers one that installs at the meter for $60 install and $10 a month, includes phone and cable protectors and I guess free replacement if it takes a hit. Amazon has a bunch you install at the power panel, but they take up a 220V breaker (2 spaces) and that would just about fi
  19. The link above says that rebooting removes the 2nd and 3rd stage, but leaves the hooks in place that will attempt to download the 2nd stage. The FBI had everyone reboot their routers to try to see where all the traffic was going to find the source server for the 2nd stage. They found it and killed it, but there is a backup method of getting the 2nd stage as well. It takes a hard reset of the router to kill the 1st stage. (and resetting the password from default *before* attaching to the internet) as well as some other stuff as I recall. I upgraded to the latest firmware anyway which s
  20. It seems to be on the listed routers only. Once in, it can download additional payloads that do other functions like reading your passwords as you log into a site or giving you false information back from a site. Basic "Man-in-the-middle" of your secure link attacks. He reads mail in both directions and forwards what he wants to the other end.
  21. This has been out for a few weeks, but I'd not seen it until today. It seems that there is a hacking attempt that attacks the routers that many people use to route IP traffic in their home networks. It's called "VPNFilter" and it seems pretty nasty if it can do all they claim. Info is here: Cisco-Talos or google it. What I'm not clear on is if the router has to be directly exposed to the internet to be attacked. I have two routers, one which is listed as attack-able, but they are behind my UVERSE router which is the only thing facing the internet. As far as I can see, it ha
  22. I often see armed forces heli's flying south of us. Not sure what bases they are traveling between.
  23. Up just over 1%. Since the value last year was reasonable, I can live with that, the hot housing market is really driving prices up. Now to see what kind of budget the BOC comes up with to see what they do to the rates. Everyone else happy with their assessment changes?
  24. OK, Sara just reported, so at 100% it looks like: County Commission: Pownall and Kaecher in a runoff Hart wins Crowe and Stover in a runoff BOE Dean and Sowar in a runoff Anavitarte and Nolan in a runoff State Rep Rakestraw and Gullett in a runoff for District 19 Martin wins over Barnett for District 17 Both house seats have Democratic opponents in the general election. Some of BOE and CC seats have Democratic opponents as well. Congrats to everyone that voted. You are the real winners.
