Son works at Ingles. If I *ever* get over this GI bug (in the middle of week 4 now) I'll have to have him pick some up.

Well, if the Marshall sees you with an uncovered load on 7 hills blvd, he'll take an immediate interest in you. Just sayin'.

That's a pretty big building for a beauty supply store!

PCSO Sgt. Lackey retires after 29 years at PCSO
The Sound Guy replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Congrats to Sergeant Lackey!! I started my job just a few weeks before him on March 19, 1988, but I have quite a few years to go before I can retire. Enjoy it Sergeant! -
Just used Skyline for a leaky pipe and failed whole house cutoff valve. Quick and did good work. Very happy.

It's sad that learning the dangers of Ice on the roads often have such high costs. My son is still paying high insurance premiums for totaling out his truck on an Icy US 61 N several years ago. This young man paid with his life. The only good thing about having so much ice this winter is maybe, maybe, more people will learn to respect it and figure out how to drive on this stuff. (Slow, slow, slow). Of course with two of my kids having been passed on a double yellow with snow all over the place because they were going slowly to try to be safe, maybe not.

Not anything like last time, more like a typical Ga snow:

Snowing in North Paulding. Sticking to the deck now.

Unfortunately, that can happen with a family business. We had a garbage service in Cobb that suddenly started missing pickups and we couldn't get them to answer the phone. After two weeks, I finally found a new company. Later I found out their son had died and there was no one but family in the business and they were all busy. It's a shame, but I suspect they lost a lot of their customer base. If you know someone that has a family business and someone dies, it may be the most helpful thing you can do is offer to answer the business phone for them for a couple of days. It could sav

Oh, she's running as a Democrat? i guess Bernie will be her running mate.
-
Yep. I think even Bernie might have made it against Trump, but it might have been close. Now, if they had found a good moderate democrat, I feel they would have swept all 50 states. Only Hillary had enough garbage attached to her for Trump to get in.

I think this will hit middle class Christians and others that give to charity/non-profits the hardest. They are the ones that are most likely to be in the bracket of having deductions between $12,000 and $24,000. The Rich won't have a problem as they will make sure their deductions exceed the $24K mark doing a quick donation or two to some non-profits if it saves them money.

LOL, yea my daughter caught that moment. I figured it would jumped on quickly by the Anti's. -
Didn't watch the video since I hate video, but if someone was going to do a terrorist attack on a government office, I would suspect that video of the building, doors, windows and traffic flows in/out of it would be very helpful in planning the attack. So since there is not any other reason I can think of for filming a police/government office, yea, I'd be suspicious as well. There is a reason they don't let you use a camera, still or video, at a TSA checkpoint for instance. At lease here, it sounds like he didn't say they couldn't video, they just wanted the person's ID so if an att

OK, I was reviewing my tax information getting ready for 2017 and was thinking about the impact to 2018 when I noticed something that seem like it may cost many of the 30% of people who used to itemize deductions on their federal taxes before the tax law was passed some extra GA taxes for 2018. Any tax professionals here (which I am not) able to confirm this? The following uses the numbers for a couple filing jointly, but the same issue applies for singles as well: If you itemized deductions in 2016 and plan to in 2017 (deductions are greater than $12,700 standard deduction) but the

Supposed to be only 1/10". Shouldn't be enough to damage trees. Problem is 1/10" on the road is enough to put you in the ditch. Of course, we were only supposed to get 3" of snow a few weeks ago and we all saw how *that* turned out.

Dow Jones crosses 25,000 for the 1st time

Democrats have had the 8 years of Obama to fix SS, but they, like the GOP now, won't touch it as SS is the "Third Rail" of American Politics. Touch it and die. Either the SS taxes must go up or benefits must go down since both parties of Congress raided the fund for all it's cash. Neither of the political animals in Washington now is going to do either before they are forced to. -

I'd say it's anyone in any group that plans ahead for their retirement and takes advantage of the 401K and IRA options available rather than waiting on the Gooberment to take care of them at retirement. Two of my kids are store clerks... but it hasn't kept them from starting their 401Ks as I've made it clear to them that Social Security won't be there by the time they are retiring. If you want anything done right... do it yourself, don't ask the Govt to do it for you. -
Dang, what happened to the water system? Somebody slide in the snow and wipe out a pump station or something?

We often have the same thing at our place. Up on Dabbs Bridge Rd, the Church and homes had power, we did not. In our case, there was a line down in the subdivision, it had blown the fuse on the pole at Dabbs Bridge that feeds our whole subdivision. Greystone had to clear the tree, then replace the fuse at the entrance to get us all back on. There are many more fuses than you would suspect in the system (at least many more than I suspected), all designed to isolate a fault to the minimum number of homes they can.

Greystone just got ours back on!!! :)

Well we are on the clock. Will the reserve power on the cell towers go out before the power gets back on
