  1. I've had one of these for several years. Greatest thing since sliced bread if you use the non-LED mini lights. In my experience, it fixes the string 75% of the time. I paid the $20 price, this price is great.
  2. If you are fairly comfortable with a soldering gun and can find a switch that matches you might be able to fix it. Depends a lot on if they used a custom switch. I replaced a bad capacitor in one of my LCD monitors, it's been running fine for 2 more years now.
  3. It looks to be a LEDALUX Puck Recessed Light Series Power supply junction box (Splits a single supply to 4 lights) However, I can't seem to find anybody who still sells the accessories (including them). You might have to get a whole new set of lights. Link to spec sheet for the lighting You could call their tech support at Phone - 800-556-7690 and see if they still make the part.
  4. Thanks for that explanation BT - I hadn't thought about having the Hiram Bypass in place now. (we live in the North and don't head that way often). Using the West bypass to get around Hiram for those headed to Cartersville and I-75 would make sense. You said "Existing 92 thru Hiram would be treated much like 61 thru Dallas was." Did you mean "like 278 thru Dallas was." ? AFAIK SR61 still passes through Dallas.
  5. So.... let me get this right. We're going to have six lanes between the city limits funneling down to 2 lanes at the city limits on both ends to crawl through the cities? Yea, that should work real well.
  6. It's hard to imagine it being any other way since they don't tend to approve a bill just to see what's in it. Holy Carp.
  7. Nice. There have been several items I've been interested in, but you guys are too far from me to get there at lunch. Hope to see you soon!
  8. Agreed. At least the collisions in Soccer are not intentional (in most cases). The overall injury rate in football seems much, much higher than any soccer game. Wonder if football would be safer if they instigated the same rules that soccer has: players must play both offense and defense and there can only be three substitutions per game. As a coach you'd want the play to be much safer!
  9. They have some specialty padded headbands that are designed to protect players, (heading is usually done on the forehead) and we bought one for our daughter, but she found that it made control of the headed ball more difficult and finally quit wearing it. (This was in high school). Maybe if they did make them wear them from the start, they would be used to it.
  10. LOL. Maybe a lower chance of head trauma, but it's there. My daughter had a concussion for six months after a mid air collision between her and another player attempting to head the ball at a North Paulding game. I had to threaten to take her off the team if she didn't quit heading the ball until it healed. There are discussions about the damage that heading the ball at high speed may cause head trauma without the previous injury. For those around the goal, I've known at least two goalies that have had head injuries from colliding with the goal posts trying to block a shot. I've
  11. Yea, it's in the fine print on the ticket, (which protects them legally) but many don't understand the danger. Myself, I believe MLB needs to either: 1) Make attending a 18+ YO activity and place large signs at all entrances about the dangers and those that enter the stands MUST pay attention to the game and have everyone sign a waver coming into the stadium. Force them to acknowledge the danger. or 2) Place netting all around the field of play to protect those distracted from the game. There is always going to be something that distracts people from the action at the plate.
  12. Just wait until most of the local stores have closed and the "free shipping" the internet big boys are using to buy market share vanishes along with the competition. We're going to pay for it one way or another.
  13. Well, for all the whining and gnashing of teeth, with our value being dropped to something reasonable, our property taxes only went up $275 or so. $150 of that was the school board with them keeping the same mil rate and taking the increase which nobody cared about. County only went up $90.00 with the rate increase that caused all the heartburn. For those of us under 70, the school tax is always going to overshadow all the others.
  14. Went to see them a couple of years ago. Pretty good show.
  15. I remember my mom taking us to the green stamps store, I seem to recall it was in Belmont hills center. Dad used to pick up our appliances from the Sears and JC Penny's outlet stores as well. "It's just a little dent, doesn't hurt anything"
  16. He was going to defund it anyway. Just another set of whiners trying to get their 30 seconds of limelight.
  17. Got the email from them last week, they are refunding our purchase without us even asking. Dang, good customer service, who would have thunk?
  18. Well, it was more the part where we have to be careful because we're not the only ones in danger from this idiot. Helping people build a booming economy and picking themselves up from poverty is never a bad thing. You act like it's our fault that the North knows they are screwed up because we helped build a good example next door. Dictatorships are always a bad thing, communism is dictatorship by committee.
  19. Didn't think of heading that way. Oh well, headed to Cleveland for this week for work, maybe I'll find some there.
  20. Ate some in Philly a few years ago. The Philly Cheese steak place in the airport used it as the cheese on their sandwiches. I didn't like it and wasn't surprised to see that place Out of Business last time I went through.
  21. Drove around a bit this morning to see if anyone still had any in stock. No luck. Manager at Walmart laughed and said they lasted about "30 minutes" after they put the display out. Most of the Amazon are sold out with new stock in between the 16th and 22nd and they want a ridiculous amount for them. I guess this close to the totality line, it's can be expected to be a fast moving item. I did learn the Fry's Electronics In Houston Tx still has some in stock. Guess I'll take a lens and make a projector and watch it that way. That's the way we watched it in '84 at Southern Tech.
  22. I don't know for sure, but they do not have name of one of the good manufactures on them. Only label on it was "Sato's Optics" and "Made in China" or something like that. I read the info on the AAS site and real testing is at three levels, IR, visible light and UV. Even if they block visible light, they could be letting UV through which could blind you without you realizing it. Also the glasses have the "2015" certification on them, but also the "do not use for more than 3 minutes" warning. True 2015 compliant glasses don't have the 3 minute warning from what the AAS said. Final clue
  23. Just looked at the ones I bought from Amazon back in early July and they are *not* a certified pair, even with the ISO label on them. At least they were cheap. (Which should have been a giveaway I guess). Amazon took the page for them down completely, not even the "not available" page, so it looks like they know they were bogus. (No offer to get my money back however) I'm going to have to look around tonight for some. AAS List of good vendors
