Re-elect Pownall, Crowe and Collett.
The Sound Guy replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/Paulding/74769/Web02.198798/#/ Go the bottom of the page and open the county contests. I'm not sure how I got here, but it seems to be working. -
Ga SOS saying 100% in for CC P3 - Hart wins 54%/45% Collett CC P4 - Corwe and Stover in the runoff, with 12 votes difference between them at 35% each. Hart will have a democratic challenger in the main election, T. Madric-Morris. Sara Ragsdale Precinct is missing from the other races. (shown as partially reported.) Not sure what that means with electronic voting, unless one of the machines crashed or something. Too bad there isn't a paper trail to recover those votes... Since that precint is real close to the runway at Silver Comet, I wonder if they had high

Sara Ragsdale Precinct is missing. (shown as partially reported.) Not sure what that means with electronic voting, unless one of the machines crashed or something. Too bad there isn't a paper trail to recover those votes... Since they are real close to the runway at Silver Comet, I wonder if they had high turn out and would expect the airport to be a major issue there. -

Hart will have a democratic challenger in the main election, T. Madric-Morris. Looks like 1 or 2 precincts still outstanding on the others. CC P2, with 84%, Pownall is leading with Kaecher a distant 2nd. Pownall is close to clearing without a runoff at 47%. -
Are there ghosts in Paulding? If so, do they write well?
The Sound Guy replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Don't forget, Crowe tried for at least the County Chairmanship that I remember before he rode the airport issue into office, I can't remember if he tried before that or not. . Why did he so want to get into office in this county? Besides, if his campaign is *any* indication of the way he governs I want him as far away from my tax money as possible. Holy carp! His team didn't even bother to scan the addresses on the voter list and send only one card to each address! We've gotten three or four of every single card he's sent. EVERYONE else sent ONE to xxxxxxxx family. Good grief -
Is It Just Me or is Something Wrong With the Math
The Sound Guy replied to Blunt Trauma's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is what happens when we yell "Take my money" when they talk about building parks with the SPLOST money, but forget that maintenance and any activities has to come out of the general fund, which is used fighting the airport and paying for repaving contracts to friends. Thus charges for any activities in the "free" parks. -
You know, you just convinced me to answer all the calls that come in this weekend. I'll get my copy of the ballot, and whenever a robo call comes in, I'll mark that candidate off the ballot. I'll pick between anyone who's left on Monday! (Anyone who calls at dinner time gets their name cut out of the ballot with a knife, I don't care WHO it is. And if NRA calls one more time I'm going to tell them to cancel my membership. If they all get marked out, then I'll vote democratic and see if I can vote for the worst candidate. .

Get out those "Thoughts and Prayers"...again
The Sound Guy replied to CitizenCain's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I guess it depends a lot on if: 1) The door has glass in it that can be seen through/broken 2) The door can be locked. If the door is a good shield, I'd shelter in place, if it's easy to get through, I'd run like the wind. (or in my case, like a very energized sloth) -
Now I'm getting calls from some elderly woman in Stone Mountain that left a voicemail asking that I quit calling her! I guess some #$%^&%^% Caller ID scammer has used *my* cell number in their caller ID when calling her over and over and over. The whole caller ID system has been compromised to the point where it's useless by these carpheads being able to insert random numbers into the caller ID info. The telco''s should never have let outside companies change that info. I'd rather have "UNKNOWN" than false data. Does anyone remember when the telephone was actually useful

Will You Ever Take Off Your Seatbelt On a Plane Again?
The Sound Guy replied to Blunt Trauma's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't ride without my seatbelt in the car either. Mile for mile, air flight is much safer than autos, but to each their own. -
Will You Ever Take Off Your Seatbelt On a Plane Again?

Just another reason I like the aisle seat... and keep the belt fastened unless I have a reason to be out of the seat. -
HEY PUBBY..... step in here please .....

That makes far more sense than the idea than passenger traffic. I never did see a valid economic model that would show how an airport 45 minutes on the FAR side of HJ from 98% of the Atlanta population could ever convince 150 people that all needed to go the same place in the world to drive PAST HJ for an extra 45 minutes just to, maybe, save a couple of dollar on a fare. -
Yes, since many of the county races don't have Democrat challengers, if a Democrat wants a choice locally, they have to pick the Republican Ballot and can vote for the weird people for the state offices. it also means they can't help select the state Democratic runners if they want a choice in the local offices.. Being a single party county sucks.

who is ready for the local election to be over?
The Sound Guy replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It won't stop until after the runoffs in July for the state offices. Anyone else tired of 1-800 numbers and "unknown" callers coming up on the Caller ID? Danged NRA has been calling once a day for 3 weeks. -
Just a reminder that with early voting opening up, the sample ballots can be found on the Sect of State's My Voter Page: My Voter After giving your information (minimal, just to determine your polling place) look under the "Voter Information" for a line that says "Sample Ballots" Remember this is a primary, so there are three available, Republican, Democrat and Non-Partisan for those that do not want to vote in the party races. Check it out and see who you will have a chance to vote for/against and make an informed choice! I know I have a lot of homework ahead of me.

Yea, I paid $750 for the company that was already next door doing some trees to take down one of mine and that did not include hauling the wood away, I had them dump it in the back of the lot. However, in their defense, it was over 100' tall, about 36" at the base and right on the property line next to the neighbor's garage. They topped it out at 75' and when they dropped the trunk I felt the impact inside the house when it hit the ground. They also managed to get it down without damaging the 75' Oak next to it that I really wanted to keep. I considered it a fair sale as there was

Asked my daughter who is working to be a tech. Good program for book learning but you have to film yourself performing all the practical procedures and she says that's difficult because many of them are emergency procedures that you can't wait for a camera to be set up.

I'm sure for a few people that may be the case, but for many of us, it's not that it's industry, or even that it's an airport, we just don't like the way this deal was written. Basically, the *county* (i.e. Us, The Taxpayers) have to pay for all the improvements to the airport needed to support Passenger traffic, pay for the studies and applications to get approval from the FAA for Passenger Traffic, pay for the upgrades to the community (i.e. fire support, water needs, etc) for the Passenger Traffic, for an airline that is KNOWN for showing up, running for six months, and if they don't m

Political newcomer faces questions about past social media post.
The Sound Guy replied to billh's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I suspect that we will see more and more of this as the Social Media embracing millennials start getting into politics. I suspect that many of these kids and young people still don't have a good grasp that the "Internet lives forever". Heck, I'm over 50 and it took me quite a while to learn the lesson myself! I think there will be consultants that get big bucks (if there are not already) that are experts in tracking down all the off the wall forums that someone may have posted material in that can be used against them in an election. -
Looks like a new hire from the AJC wrote that one....

My trees and bushes can't seem to decide. The cherry tree usually goes to full bloom in a couple of days. This year it's been a week since the first bloom and half the limbs haven't even started yet. The weeds in the yard have bloomed, but the grass still looks dormant. I'm just glad I haven't started working the garden yet with all this rain, it would be a mud bath for weeks.

That seems pretty typical of the "Local" banks around here. Open up, gather customers with a promise of being "your local bank!", when you have enough deposits, sell out to <big money bank>, wash, rinse, repeat.

CNN has found some vido of the collapse. CNN It doesn't show the entire bridge, but it looks like it first comes apart 10-15 ft off the pier.
