  1. Maybe I just haven't spent enough time with it. I finally figured out how to see my bookmarks and add the home button. I guess I just don't like having to hunt for stuff that's standard on Firefox and Seamonkey. edited to add: Well, I just tried to check hotmail with Chrome and it crashed and vanished. Don't like unstable beta software, too many ways for hackers to kill it if normal code kills it.
  2. Like the whistle idea.... where is the closest dollar tree...
  3. I've loaded it and love the speed, but the features of Firefox keep bringing me back to it. I also use Seamonkey for HTML editing
  4. Getting call that the caller ID reports as: Toll Free Call 877-279-7591 The wife answered it once and after saying Hello a couple of times, got cussed out by the person on the other end. She promptly hung up. It's called back a couple of times today. Googled it and only found complaints about a telemarketing number from a year or so ago. (of course the caller ID could be spoofed also) Going to try to block it next time it comes in, we'll see if that works. Just wondering if anyone else in this area is getting this call.
  5. You can have our Information Technology (IT) group. Arrrggggg.... New PC... on Day 2 of trying to make it work....
  6. My son loves their music and has seem them live twice. They have some great DVDs of some concerts also.
  7. It's interesting that most of the stats are for the time the flight *leaves* not the time the flight actually gets to the destination. I wish they'd keep that stat. I fly Delta almost everywhere I have to go for business. I hate connections and Delta has the most direct flights. Lately, most of the flights I'm taking have been the ATL-EWR (Newark, NJ) route. A pretty congested area. Last Friday, the flights were arriving early, both in EWR and ATL, even with us leaving a little late from EWR. Besides, for some routes, they KNOW on many flights there will be multiple ground dela
  8. I love it!! I imagine they feel for the envelopes that feel like they are thicker than normal or have the outline of a card in it. Hmmm, I may talk with my brother in Texas. Take some of those fake credit cards you get in card applications, put them in a card along with some powdered sugar and send it to him. Tell him to throw it away when it comes in. Mail it from some city I'm traveling in. Would love to see if it actually makes it there. I dislike thieves. SG
  9. Very expensive Emerson bypass in my opinion. They just 4 laned much of 113 up to Cartersville, which dumps to a 2 lane road to downtown. Seems to me to have made more sense to route that traffic to Red Top than the Old Alabama traffic. Either I don't understand something (quite possible) or there was some serious politics going on.
  10. PCHS weather station is reporting 31.9 degrees at 8:02 AM. I have ice and sleet on my back deck. Maybe this means we'll have a warm Jan Feb? I hope so, I really don't want to see the Gas bill for this month...
  11. I always call the police, even if there is no damage to my car if there is damage to the other and it's their fault and have told my kids to do the same. Always get a report. Why? Because of the following: One of my co-workers was in a rental car in another state when hit in the rear on a trip. They guy got out, saw no damage to my co-workers car and said not to worry about the damage to his and not to call the police and took off. My co-worker called the police anyway since it was a rental and had a report written up and forgot about it. A month later or so, he got a call from tha
  12. My son totaled his truck on 61N near Burnt Hickory earlier this afternoon. We're blessed he wasn't hurt. What a mess.
  13. Agreed. It was pretty good back then, the new look is too modern for my tastes.
  14. While our portion went up some, it was only 10% or so for the same coverage. About 4000 employees.
  15. One other bit of advice. I just bought a couple of different accessories for my shopsmith in the last couple of months. One seller shipped out the next day, the other took nearly a week. Don't expect next day service like a store front from an individual. I believe that their Ebay sales are second jobs, so you'll get serviced when they get time. Check the delivery for the game in the offer. Cheers!
  16. I've used it to order a lot of different items. My only recommendation is to make a Paypal account to pay for purchases so you don't have to give out your credit card number to any seller. If they don't take Paypal, I just don't buy it. YMMV
  17. Well, not a football expert by any means, but my thought is that this may be the biggest mismatch since Georgia vs Hawaii in whatever bowl it was. Auburn took apart South Carolina while Oregon struggled at times against Oregon state. I just hope it's not over by the end of the 1st half. Hey Oregon, get ready for your introduction to football SEC style... What do ya'll think?
  18. Be glad you are not going here in New Jersey. I went to see one on Monday night, it was $11 for the 2D ticket (Harry Potter) and $5 for a large drink. I wonder if they can figure out why I was one of only 5 people in the showing at 8:00 PM? I took the family to see a 3D movie in Brunswick over the summer, it was $12 each if I remember correctly. I about freaked out then and there...
  19. Comcast is between a rock and hard spot. Digital video is exploding. The fiber optic crash in the late 90s was due to overbuilding before the demand was there, now it's here. The 10GE and soon to be 100GE equipment to carry the increased video loads is very expensive, my company sells 44 channel long haul DWDM 40G networks so I'm familiar with it, and if the public wants fast internet response that can handle the loads, then SOMEONE has got to pay for transport and switching in the backbone. That money can only come from the content providers or the customers. It appears that the cu
  20. Interesting, it made me think of another explosion in Texas where two shiploads of Ammonium Nitrate detonated. Texas City disaster
  21. Saw Unstoppable tonight, pretty good flick. Very "Dramatized" from the real event, but then you expect it from a movie. A description of the real event can be found here: Final Report - Engine 8888
  22. Thanks, am planning on seeing Unstoppable, but was on the fence with Skyline, you helped me fall off.
  23. If I could, I would opt out of flying, but it's part of the job. Kinda need a job right now.... I like eating.
  24. Don't worry, they will tax that too....
