  1. Yea, there is one precinct reporting, but it's in the 17th, not the 19th, so these seem to be all early votes. Still, it it almost 14% of the registered voters, so it's a good indication.
  2. Much better guesses than "Anti Ballistic Missile" and "Annual Incentive Payment" that I came up with.
  3. Yea, I bet we have some creative people in this county. Wonder if any PCOM names showed up?
  4. ................Polling ABM AIP PRO Total P. R. BRADDOCK ® 0 944 2370 0 3314 66.45% WILL AVERY (D) 0 178 1478 0 1656 33.21% I think these are the early voting only totals Not sure about what the headers mean: Polling - Polling Place Votes? ABM - Absentee ballots? AIP - Advanced ballots? PRO - Provisional ballot? If you look at the numbers, it seems that approx 14% of the registered voters voted before election day and we *still* had crowds.
  5. I almost burnt my house down with my light display one year. We had a bad connection in the circuit that connected to the outside plug and it got HOT! We were lucky it burned the wires up and broke the circuit before it caught the wood in the attic on fire. The house was only 8 years old at the time. Scary.
  6. I just talked to my son. He voted at McClure at 7:00 PM (after a two hour wait) and the poll workers estimate was that 900 people were waiting in line at that time. At that point they had 6 additional machines added (from 12 to 18)and were trying to add more. Also trying to get another card programmer as it was a choke point also. They were expecting the total to be over 3000 at McClure. Also heard that Shelton ended up being closed because of a lack of people to run the polls, so they ended up at McClure. There were rumors that Abney was a real mess. People parking in the road because
  7. With the reported 2 hour+ lines at most polling places at closing time, I suspect that we won't start seeing results until 10:30 or so.
  8. As I recall, McClure had 22 machines during the primary, but only 12 this time. about 6-8 of the machines had less than 10 votes on them, so I guess that is why they dropped the number of machines.
  9. I vote at McClure Middle, had about an hour wait (7:05 AM to 8:12 AM). Funny, they had 22 voting machines for the primary, only 12 for the main election.
  10. Georgia Sec of State office Go to this site, enter your info and it will give you a copy of your ballots. Cheers!
  11. I'm doing double duty by voting for Monds: 1) Helping to build a viable smaller government third party (Since the Republicans seem to have forgotten how that works) I might not agree with the stranger parts of their platform, but a lot of it I do. 2) Hopefully driving the race to a run off to help get the Republican Party's attention that some of us have brains and are tired of the Party hacks from the edge getting the nomination. I voted for Karen in the primary and would have voted for her in a flash. If it does go to a run off, then I may vote for Deal if I can afford enough
  12. Ok, I'm confused.... the county commission has banned stucco on 278? You have GOT to be kidding me if that's true. They have WAY better things to be worrying about than that! Oh yea... forgot to add: CONGRATS!!!
  13. We have a GE, it's 10 years old, used a lot, had one recall, had to repair it once. VERY quiet, but we paid the extra for the model with the sound insulation package. WELL worth the money in my opinion. Good luck.
  14. It doesn't matter, we're going out for dinner next year... we had one (1) count 'em, T or T last night. Now I have to eat all this chocolate myself. Bummer.
  15. Have unlimited texting, but not unlimited data... My daughter used to be the family champ texter, but since my son found a girl in Tenn to text to, he's the new champion!! 9000+ a month. My daughter was a far second with only 1800+
  16. Just an update, I read the flyer that had Clark Howard on it (I understand that he announced on his show that he did NOT give permission for them to use his name in the flyer, but he does support the amendment) and got some more details. It appears that it works like this: Contractor makes a pitch to the State for an energy saving project. Proposal states that the project will cost the state X millions, and save the state Y dollars per year in a particular type of energy usage for Z years. State buys the project pays the contractor his costs and full profit on the job. If t
  17. LOL! I hear that all the time. Maybe at Rec Level U-8 and lower, but the higher the level, the more contact. There are limits, but there is a LOT of contact. Picture 15 is legal because it's shoulder to shoulder (arms down) and both are making moves on the ball. Same with 13. 12 on the other hand is getting close to a foul as the arms come up. Love shot 6. Check out a High School Game this Spring or if you have time now, West Metro Soccer has their Select games at Taylor Farm Park on the weekends. Usually 4-5 games going on out there a weekend, both boys and girls. It's n
  18. Tell you what, if two people can read the same thing and get two totally opposite meanings from it, then as far as I'm concerned, its *way* too vague to be allowed into law. I will say, I was looking at the ballot wording and not the actual amendment, here is the actual change to the constitution: I *still* don't see what you are saying in the above. It says the STATE goes into DEBT for the improvements. (i.e. we pay for it) But the payments are guaranteed by the the Vendors? What does that mean? Who's paying what to who? Problems I have: 1) Are the building managers
  19. How about adding a $25 surcharge to all moving violation? You know, ones you get for doing the kinds of behaviors that *cause* accidents? Make the people causing the accidents pay for the centers, not all the safe drivers also.
  20. I think Howard is slipping in his old age. He states: Yea right... no cost to the contractor maybe. Here is the text of ballot: Obligate is an interesting word: –verb (used with object) 1. to bind or oblige morally or legally: to obligate oneself to purchase a building. 2. to pledge, commit, or bind (funds, property, etc.) to meet an obligation. –adjective 3. morally or legally bound; obliged; constrained. 4. necessary; essential. 5. Biology . restricted to a particular condition of life, as certain organisms that can survive only in the absence of oxygen: o
  21. Got our pricing earlier this week. Health and Dental both went up about 10%.
  22. Arrrggggg. I am ready to turn the ringer off again. I especially like the way they are screwing with the caller ID now. Republican Insurance commissioner's call came in with "IMPORTANT" as the ID. I was going to vote for him, I may vote Libertarian in that race now just for using robo-calls. I'm just curious on the poll questions above....
  23. LOL! I took my wife up to Ohio for our 25th Anniversary, she's always wanted to see the Longerberger basket factory. I scheduled a set of First Class Delta seats nonstop from Atlanta. We got to the gate early as Delta recommends. Time for the flight to leave is 10 minutes away and no plane yet. I tell my wife this is not a good sign. Finally, after the flight time has come and gone, they announce there will be a delay. Oh Gee, you think???? We wait 30 minutes and they announce the plane is about there.... but it has a mechanical problem and will be delayed 2-3 hours t
  24. As I recall, regular ham is sugar cured, but County ham is salt cured.
  25. Well done Marine! I looked it up, it happened in 2007. Marine Corps Times Story You gotta love this however: Suspects Family says it is wrong Just how out of touch with reality do you have be to not see the threat your grandson posed when entering a eating establishment equipped with gun during a robbery. (Which I would be really surprised if it wasn't pointed at the clerk at some point.) There is a difference between Robbery and Armed Robbery for a reason, the armed part becomes a threat to life. Dang...
