Now That It's HOT Outside - Favorite Liquid Refreshment?!?

Iced tea, of course! It's the house wine of the south! -
Thanks for sharing this story. One of my dearest friends was a helicopter pilot in Veitnam.

Yesterday must have been the day for people behaving suspiciously. When I got home from a late lunch, there was a car parked in the middle of my driveway (the driveway is almost 600' long). There was no one in the car. I stopped behind it and waited. Finally a young man came out of the woods and got into the car. He then drove to my house and parked next to my riding arena. I pulled up behind him and blocked him in. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was just turning around. Then I asked what he had been doing in the woods and he said "changing clothes". I pointed out that

Prayers for you, your husband and the rest of the family.

That's all we can seat inside the room but there is a concrete patio at the entrance to the clubroom where we could seat another 20 to 30 people. The arena that we would use for dancing is 72' x 88' and the adjoining arena where we would set up the bonfire is 90' x 240'. Unless all the kids decided they wanted to sit down in the same area and eat at the same time, we should be able to handle 50 to 100 easily. We're far enough off any main road that we wouldn't have to worry about passers by seeing the party and dropping in.

I have offered to let my granddaughter have her sweet sixteen party here at the farm. We will turn the small arena into a dance floor complete with decorations and hook up the PA system for her music. We have a really nice spot for a bonfire, a large grill to cook out and the clubroom can seat 20 to 25 people. There are 1000 wat stadium lights all around so there are few "dark corners". We already offer pony parties for small children. Does anyone think the teen parties would be a good idea to offer to the community?
-
Ditto! We have a dress code and code of conduct here at the farm.

Sounds good!

I'll be thinking of you and remembering you in my prayers!

I'm so glad that Chloe and her friends enjoyed the party! All of the children were so sweet and well behave. The girls, the horses and I had fun too.

I miss you, mom. Anita Brady Adkins

Are there any shells with a western design?

I would love to make it an annual event. I'm very grateful to Pastor Ken for agreeing to deliver the message.

Please explain to me why people defending a position on intelligence, or lack thereof, tend to write like a college freshman trying to impress a crotchety, old, psychology professor? -
You can have a microchip placed in your horse but it's a lot more expensive than for a cat or a dog and few places have scanners to read them. I have only heard of one horse being recovered because it had a chip. One of the now closed U.S. slaughter houses scanned the horse when it was brought in.
-
I'm so glad you got your horses back but I agree that you should file a report. It seems extremely odd that the person who had your horses would cut their manes and forelocks if they were only there a couple of hours.
-
Horses can also be trained to track people. My natural hoof care specialist is locating a trainer for me. Using horses for search and rescue had almost become a lost art but it is slowly regaining a following.
-
Also, I have a little mustang mare that is excellent at tracking other horses. I'll be glad to trailer her to the area, if you need her. LLF

If you believe that your horses were stolen, contact netposse as soon as possible. They will get the info out nationwide to try to help you recover your animals. It will help if you have a flyer that they can attach for people to download and put up at horse auctions, feed stores, etc... I hope you get your horses back soon. LLF

We left Dish for the same reason a few years ago. I can't really say that Direct has been any better.
