  1. I've never had a problem like I've had so far this year. I've never had to take allergy medication before. I definitely don't like the way it makes me feel but it stops the sneezing and watery eyes.
  2. Ditto! I was very upset when I learned the my Ford pick-up was built in Mexico.
  3. Welcome, Steve!!! I have another order for you and a new Happy Horse character!
  4. Prayers for Brigette and her family.
  5. Laurie, My heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow. There is no love as pure as that between man and one of God's creatures. Hugs to you & Dr. Frank, bren
  6. I grew up in a small town outside of Birmingham. Every year there was a community BBQ at the park to raise money for a local children's hospital. Everyone knew everyone else. It was an all day, family affair. When I think of community, this is the memory that comes to mind.
  7. I had to learn to spell this word in high school. It is supposed to be the longest word in the English language. My daughter sometimes asks me to spell it for people as something of a parlor trick. I'm not sure why I've remembered it for 40 years.
  8. I have some coats and jackets.
  9. Every once in a while an amazing equine athlete comes along. Secretariat was definitely one in a million.
  10. And to think his owner LOST the coin toss.
  11. A couple of my students went horseback riding on the beach there last summer. They really enjoyed themselves. Sorry just noticed that the twins are 6 months and not 6 years old.
  12. I download music from Napster but I pay a monthly subscription fee.
  13. I hang out with my horses for a few minutes. They have a quiet understanding and a way of lifting my spirits. Especially my oldest Quarter Horse mare, Happy. She has always had the ability to look right into my soul.
  14. Prayers going up for you, Spunkywman.
  15. If possible, check on elderly or "shut-in" neighbors.
  16. I need service in the East Paulding area (close to EPHS).
  17. Prayers for your family and business that God will meet your needs.
  18. Well, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS.
  19. I agree with you on most points, Ms. P. But changing quotations from the bible (like my grandfather did)in an attempt to validate a point only weakens the position. Because my grandfather changed the wording in verses when it suited his purpose, it made it difficult to take him seriously.
  20. Some of the most heated debates I have ever had concerning the bible were with my grandfather. He told me that women shouldn't wear their dresses above their shoe tops. He was referring to a verse that says women should dress in modest apparell. Biblical interpretation depends on the mind set of the reader. Simply stated, Jesus said that we should love God and love our neighbors. The bible is our guide to this end. There were those in the time that Jesus walked the earth who were tangled in legalism. Jesus had strong words for these people. Jesus said "If you love me, feed my sheep."
  21. A friend gave me a large box of mixed K-cups for Christmas. It had different roasts including Kona, French, Italian and Kenyan. It also had some flavored coffees and some decaf. She ordered it online but I don't know which site.
  22. Anytime I am faced with a debate of science vs. creationism, I'm reminded of what my grandmother told me about how she reacted to seeing the first airplane in flight. She was a simple country girl with little education. She had probably never read a newspaper. When she heard the low flying plane approaching, she fell to the ground to protect herself from the giant dragonfly. In Revelation, John describes locusts the size of horses with the faces of men. I know that my grandmother didn't see a giant dragonfly just as I am sure that what John is describing isn't a locust. I believe in God
