  1. Very sneaky LR...they aren't open on Sunday!
  2. We went last Thursday and got some yummy homemade sweet basil and pine nut pesto and a loaf of home made bread to spread it on, some home made Vidalia onion relish, and some yummy peach tea! The rain last week drove a few vendors away, but it was still a nice selection of goodies!
  3. yes, I do! All is well. I have lots of work, a family that cherishes me, and many animals with all their fangs, fur, fins, and claws. Seriously--to the OP--lots of people opt to have their cats declawed. I think what folks have advised the most in this thread is to do your research before you decide. Ultimately, the decision is up to you. My cats have done really well with scratching posts, used along with a product called "Sticky Paws," which is like a double-sided tape you use on your furniture until they learn not to scratch. They hate the sticky feeling, and won't claw wher
  4. You could just have them stuffed, then there would be no problems!
  5. Mine does, too! But she's so small now, if we had her legs removed, she probably wouldn't even miss them! Maybe I can have them taken when I have her teeth pulled?
  6. Simple!! They just anesthetize them and *snip* their vocal chords! Voila! No more barking! They're asleep when it's done, so they never even notice they can't bark anymore. And if they could, they'll never complain!
  7. My puppy chews things. She just chews and chews and chews. I wonder, can I humanely have all of her teeth removed? It would be so much easier than teaching her not to chew...
  8. I like being able to throw my pillows off the bed if they get in my way. But I'm sure they're useful as flotation devices.
  9. I hope you'll give it careful consideration. Declawing is painful for the cat and often has long-term consequences that outweigh any perceived benefit. Cats can be trained not to scratch things they shouldn't. I have three cats with all their claws, and intact furniture. Research it completely, please.
  10. I'm so thankful I can sleep on my stomach.
  11. Simple. He paid off the family of the one he killed, and they accepted his money over justice. Is it right? Hell no, it's not right. The problem is as much with the justice system that will allow such "plea deals" as it is with the sports organizations and culture that reward people with ridiculous monetary amounts for being able to catch and throw balls as if it really meant something important. Like OJ, he bought himself justice. There were no dog families for Vick to pay off.
  12. The Michelin Man is right up there with the Burger King on the creepiness scale, IMO. I don't know why people want to wear clothes that cling to their rings. I pretty much dislike anything binding, so I don't get it.
  13. I am sorry--I meant for that to be taken light-heartedly, and not in seriousness. I also thought that perhaps her reason for seeming to "hide" him is that it's a family friend or maybe even a relative on your Dad's side. If they develop a caring relationship, hopefully she'll feel comfortable sharing him with her kids.
  14. Are y'all from Alabama? Sorry, I take that back. If I leave this world before my husband does, I hope he can find love again and be the same wonderful person that he is to me to someone else who would appreciate what a strong, caring, and wonderful person he is. I understand your concern that your Mom would hide him from your brother, but just look how your brother reacted. Can you really blame her? I surely can't. Maybe she's just exploring the waters, and if it's something that grows into a real relationship, she'll want you both to get to know him. Her own happiness sho
  15. GREAT. My husband and a friend are outside now, staining our fence. They said the rain won't wash it off. OK.
  16. Been looking for steak that melts in your mouth? Then come to West Metro--Best Meats in the South!
  17. West Metro Meat and Produce--Here's the BEEF! Porky, Foghorn, Spotted Cow--Come see us to get them NOW! "Now that's a joke, son!" "That's all, Folks!" Ahem.
  18. It is such an awesome rendering of an amazing photograph, and something I'm sure Denise will treasure always.
  19. momof3 and smoochiemom, it was so good to see you both again tonight, even though it was a sad reason to meet again. momof3, tell your husband I was glad to meet him, and that I hope being there helped to heal his heart. And your daughter's drawing is such a precious gift, and so beautiful. Denise, I love ya Dear Lady. You're stronger than you know. (((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))
  20. Nooooooooooooooooooo! Don't ask him/her to stop! I wanna see Shananagan's translation again!!!
  21. STOP IT!!! YER KILLIN' ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. We're headed over in a little while! I hope there's boiled peanuts there this year...there was last year!
  23. I hear it here at my house, too. I welcome the rain. The severe thunderstorm part--not so much.
  24. Yes, sorry...I was thinking like right now, immediate need. But I'm sure food will be appreciated in the next few coming days. Of course you know I'll help coordinate and cook.
