  1. How frightening for the Mom! Hope she and baby will be OK. There's a family I've followed for a while now--some of you may have also--the Lawrenson Family of Naggs Head, NC. Nate, the Husband/Father, keeps a blog called Confessions of a CF Husband. His Wife, Tricia, has Cystic Fibrosis. While preparing to get a double lung transplant, they discovered Tricia was pregnant. Against medical advice, they chose to continue the pregnancy. In January of this year, their little girl Gwyneth was born, at 24 weeks 4 days gestation. Just two months later, Tricia received new lungs. G
  2. Not what I meant at all. But a person who is at the threat stage needs help. A person beyond the threat stage may just do it. That's all I meant.
  3. Indeed. A "threat" is more often a cry for help. I agree--hopefully her threat will lead to help.
  4. I'll ask the kids and let you know!
  5. That's EXACTLY why I don't like the durn thing. I'm afraid it will kill someone...maybe even ME!! That's why it's disassembled and tucked away!
  6. I know! My ex gave it to our family for Christmas...I can't remember if it was last year or year before. He LOVES his. We never use ours. Technically though, I think it belongs to the kids more than me. But they don't use it either.
  7. We have one, and I can't stand it. It was a gift, so we haven't gotten rid of it. It's stored in my garage. Some people really like them, though. Or so I hear.
  8. I just came back from over there, and while yes, there's visible smoke above the fire, it's not like some GIANT plume that you can see from really far away. Maybe it was worse when it first happened, but now you're almost there before you really see it.
  9. No. That was MY "hood." And a nice one at that. But it is next to Country Walk. I seriously doubt there's any relation whatsoever. I'm guessing the store was hit because it's rather isolated. And there's lots of ways for the creep to escape over here.
  10. I hope so, too. It's hard to imagine anyone pulling an armed robbery there. Makes me I just went to make sure our friend was OK though. EDITED TO ADD: You'd think we lived in a high-crime area--but really, we don't. It's just all over these days.
  11. YIKES!! That's a couple of blocks from my house! I use that store all the time! We the little guy who owns it!
  12. GA Navigator website reports major accident with 4 vehicles. Could be incorrect, though. http://www.wsbtv.com/traffic/index.html
  13. Sorry you had this happen and that we joked about it--no harm was intended. I'm glad to hear everything was OK in the end. Pictures would be awesome! WOW...I can't imagine what you went through today. Rest well.
  14. What if you get two photos from different members at just the same time though? (SORRY Pubby--after today's 'contest,' I had to ask! )
  15. ISS is a whole lot better than an out of school suspension that lasts Wednesday through Friday--it's like giving the kid a five day weekend. I never did understand that.
  16. NO! They are both home at the moment. But when I saw you had posted, I thought, "B oughtta go take a picture of THIS and start a 'You write the caption' thread!"
