  1. To get to the other side? Sorry to laugh...but your topic title reminded me of that old chicken joke.
  2. Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing it, and keep us updated!
  3. If he flew, chances are he was ready.
  4. See, that's what I was thinking... There is no absolute answer, because it depends on the amount and terms of the loan. But as you said, still a good thing to do if you can.
  5. Wouldn't it depend on the amount of principal owed? If I have a loan for $500,000, an extra $2,400 yearly will reduce the principle, but I can't expect it to wipe the loan out in 5 years--as that would only be an extra $12,000 over a five-year period.
  6. I'm a True Blood junkie, too.
  7. Yup. I usually find that to be the case as well. The question I was trying to answer is whether or not the series closely follows the books, and my understanding is that it does not.
  8. My understanding is that the series varies a LOT from the original text it is based on.
  9. I listened to his last broadcast. And then I changed the station, and never looked back.
  10. Here ya go! Lyrics: No one laughs at God in a hospital No one laughs at God in a war No one’s laughing at God When they’re starving or freezing or so very poor No one laughs at God When the doctor calls after some routine tests No one’s laughing at God When it’s gotten real late And their kid’s not back from the party yet No one laughs at God When their airplane start to uncontrollably shake No one’s laughing at God When they see the one they love, hand in hand with someone else And they hope that they’re mistaken No one laughs at God When the c
  11. I miss him. I stopped listening to that station when they canned him.
  12. Cool for your daughter! The album is available on Amazon.com for $7.99.
  13. Her new album "Far" is in stores today.
  14. Oh, yeah. You're correct. I withdraw my offer.
  15. I wuvs your woman! Sorry, I thought you had a Harley. OP, forgive the hijack!
  16. What's wrong with your "old" Harley?
  17. Alimony in GA, at least theoretically, is determined by which party to the marriage was the primary breadwinner. In most cases, that is the male in the marriage (though not always). If a woman stayed at home to tend to home things and childrearing, typically the male would be the primary wage-earner. So while some men would like to see it as the man always getting stuck, that's simply not correct. Men pay more because traditionally, they earn more while women tend to "home things." Spousal support is the right of one spouse to receive an award of money from the other spouse, on a t
  18. Yeah, but will he do it in a pink tutu?
  19. I'll volunteer. I feel there's a few who would like to drown me!
  20. As I said earlier and in another thread, I didn't think any of it would really come to us. I think it won't--here's the current radar, zoomed in on Powder Springs, where I live. The wind is gone now, and all we have is the oppressive humidity. And a lot of plants we'll have to water this evening.
  21. I had the MOST BEAUTIFUL giant old oak right in front of my house a few years ago. Husband said it had to go. I cried. And cried. I loved my tree. Now (don't tell HIM I said this), I'm glad it's gone. It had damage from the drought prior to this one, and had it fallen, it almost certainly would have crushed the front of my house. And it almost certainly would have fallen. Still, I miss it.
  22. Just spoke with my Husband--he's at work over on Cobb Parkway in Marietta. He said it was windy over there and they are having LOTS of lightning, but no rain yet.
