  1. Good advice. And I'm a writer.
  2. Yes, I was going to point that out also, but didn't want to seem overly picky. You also shift between past and present tense. You might wanna check that. Oh, and you use semi-colons where commas belong. Oh...and I'm sorry--no ill will intended I promise, but no, I wouldn't keep reading. You don't give a reason to. It's very, very generic. Hope none of that is taken badly. I mean it helpfully.
  3. I brought along some songs just in case I needed some music...this one's for you, LT.
  4. Lady Tass! Good to see you back! I'll take a dirty vodka martini--the dirtier, the better!
  5. I just told Jeff over the phone... He was :o JUST LIKE ME!!! We'll give them a call. We're delighted for them, but still !
  6. OH, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff just talked with Steve less than two weeks ago....he didn't mention it! WOW!!!! You think it's ok if we call them this evening and congratulate them? I'm just all !!
  7. The THRILL is gone? Feeling BAD? Want them all to BEAT IT? Hate the WAY THEY MAKE YOU FEEL? You've had ENOUGH, and you want it to STOP? If the try to ROCK WITH YOU one more time you'll SCREAM? BEN there, done that.
  8. That may be. I haven't counted. But I'm pretty sure I didn't start any. Oh, and I'm at the top of the top 20 again at the moment, where I am often, even when no one famous has died. (TRANSLATION: I T2DM! ) He hasn't gone away yet. My posting hasn't had any impact on that. Hmmmm...let's see. Since I started posting this morning a little after 9:00 am, I've made 21 posts. 4 of those have been in two separate threads about MJ--one was started last night and one this morning; both are now closed. Three of those posts were simply posting an emoticon or a goofy pic
  9. We watched Burn Notice then the Farrah tribute. I normally keep news on in the background while I work during the day (it keeps me from being interested in an actual show while keeping noise going and letting me hear news as it's ongoing), but today I have turned it off. I had it on for a while this morning, but I couldn't find ANY station that wasn't 24/7 MJ coverage. I find it quite disgusting. He was a man, with a questionable personal history, who also happened to be a popular musician. He wasn't anything more, and the non-stop coverage is just ridiculous. All these folks griping abou
  10. I lived in Texas at the time, so I'm not sure the laws changed uniformly across all states. You might still have a couple of years on me. For example, It was still legal to drink at 18 well past my 19th b-day in the state of Louisiana, and I lived only about 50 miles from the TX/LA border.
  11. Almost the same thing happened to me. Well, when I was 18, the legal age was 18. After I turned 19, it was changed to 21, which means I had over a year of being "legal" before facing another year and a half of not. But I support a 21 drinking age. I didn't then, but I do now.
  12. I'm not for anyone drinking alcohol and driving their car any day of the week. But I'm also not for a law that uses a religious belief to arbitrarily restrict my purchases any day of the week, either. Even if I have no desire to buy alcohol on Sunday.
  13. I would tend to think the comment was meant to be taken with much sarcasm, and not seriously.
  14. I was responding to MWE's comment that "I agree with you it is a stupid law, but there are many more stupid laws out there with more priority that should take the focus IMO..." I just forgot to quote her.
  15. I'll come by soon to see ya, Melinda! I know this is done with mixed emotions, but I'm glad for you at the same time!
  16. Yeah, well good luck with that. It's a systemic sickness. Did you see this? House Observes Moment of Silence for Michael Jackson Moments ago, the House of Representatives observed a moment of silence in the memory of pop icon Michael Jackson, who died yesterday at the age of 50. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) led the observance.
  17. No, no. You guys are right. It's true what I just heard said on the news...MJ "touched many, many lives on a personal level." So true.
  18. To answer the OP's question: maybe? Did ya see this? Michael Jackson's death: Fans gather at wrong Hollywood star 6:35 PM | June 25, 2009 Star A crowd of about 75 people gathered in front of a Michael Jackson star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this afternoon, but it was actually the wrong star--this one was for the former KABC radio personality of the same name. Jackson's real star near the front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard was covered by scaffolding in preparation for the "Bruno" movie premiere so fans gathered at the other Michael Jackson star to
  19. Too late. PM sent as you were typing this. Forgive me, too, if I misinterpreted your comments. How would my saying "enjoy your fruit salad" be taken as a personal slight? How would that weaken my "case"? Nevermind. It truly doesn't matter. Goodnight.
