  1. NO, I do not think the kid taping should be punished. It's called evidence. What we don't know is that perhaps two or three kids whe WERE there when the fight started ran to get help. We don't have any EVIDENCE of who is not there--of who perhaps left for help. There looks to be two or three kids standing around--there might have been seven or eight just seconds before the video started. And perhaps the kid taping knew this. All conjecture from our perspective. I might add, I have talked to my son about what to do if someone starts a fight. You can't just stand there and get pummele
  2. And how do you judge a child to say he looks like trouble? He is still a child... What exactly does trouble look like? I don't agree. He is not a child (yes, I know legally he is considered a child), he is a young man. How long do this 95% grown people get to use "child" as a defense??? How can one say he looks like trouble??? Ummm....I would say the broken face of the other kid reveals his capability for trouble. One of my favorite sayings is "I am not trying to raise a perfect child, I am trying to raise a responsible adult." Please do not make excuses or try to make thi
  3. I don't use them now, but did when I lived in Texas. The quality is top notch, prices higher than grocery store prices on most things, but worth it if you are not feeding an army. The service was exceptional when I was buying and never had problems with deliverer. That would probably be a deal breaker for me. I've had three teenagers. I don't need attitude from anyone else!
  4. And may I add for you teachers.....it boggles my mind the number of parents who choose to believe their kids over multiple witnesses. "My child would not lie to me." LISTEN UP parents---your kids play you like a fiddle! They lie boldly to you because you would rather stick your head in the sand and believe them than deal with the reality. They lie because they don't want you to be dissappointed. They lie because if they tell the truth they get in trouble--if they lie, they don't. And just another observation--if you lie to others in front of your kids, they learn that it is okay to
  5. I went once....five or six years ago. NEVER AGAIN! That's all.
  6. The system truly is a mess. My son has had ISS because he "touched" a person. He and his friend were goofing off and one pushed the other and fell down. They both said they were just playing...and neither was hurt. But the teacher followed the "no touching" rule and off to ISS they go for a day. Yet this kid truly assaults a kid and just gets suspension????? Honestly, he should be expelled (and have more serious charges filed) for an assault like that. The kids just standing and watching should get ISS! And I'm going to defend the kid taping the assault. Without the video, would a
  7. I really learned very little from the class. Most of what they went over was in all the reading material I already had. Guess it's for those who don't like to read. But it did give others a chance to ask questions. I was on the walker less than two weeks. I went in for my two week post-op on crutches--told them I was way too vain to go out in public with a walker! The doctor told me I didn't even need the crutches and just keep a cane with me if I got tired--but I never used it. If you are not going to have a PT coming to your home, I would strongly recommend you get some instru
  8. Lowrider, this is EXACTLY what I had (even went to Sacks who must diagnose everyone with "arthritis") I ended up firing him and using Dr Achecar. Same situation--avascular necrosis with no known cause. Sounds like you have mostly good information and preparation. The only thing I am concerned about is you saying you won't be doing any therapy for six weeks. I was up walking the day after surgery and had a physical therapist at my house the day after I came home from the hospital. The best advise I got from other hip patients was DO THE THERAPY! I did it like a mad woman! I had ankl
  9. We've had ours around two years. Pros--all the ones listed above. I love having a full tub of HOT water no matter what else has been running. Cons--A few months ago, I would have said "none". But I found one. When the power goes out, you INSTANTLY have COLD water--not warm....not a slow fade to cold, but ice cold instantly! I jumped outta there fast! Cost--not sure if they come in different sizes, but my huaband put ours in and the heater and whatever else he needed to install run somewhere between $1000-$1500.
  10. If you really think about it, white flour and white sugar are completely unnecessary for health. Neither are what I even consider "real food". Your symptoms are "withdrawals" and should go away after another day or two. I really don't understand the bad rap that the Atkins diet gets except that people don't use it as intended. The extremely low carb phase is just the first few weeks to reset the messed up metabolism and end the carb cravings. I never saw it as a meat diet--it is far more a vegetable diet for us. My husband is diabetic and can completely control his blood sugar withou
  11. Excellent post Pubby. I might add that throughout history, some of the greatest political leaders have struggled with major drepression. (Churchill and Lincoln come to mind). I would not doubt his abilities over this one incident.
  12. My son said a kid in his 7th period class wouldn't wake up. Don't know anything else--apparently it was near the end of class and DS left and doesn't know anything else.
  13. In that case, I need a slate gray Sharpie.......I hit the PLASTIC trash can and scratched my car. Ugh!
  14. Is the Sharpie the same color as said car? Sounds perfectly logical to me.
  15. Thank you NC! I LOVE these! I am on a search for more of their stuff tonight!
  16. That..my dear....is Jamey Johnson. Check him out. His music is true country and take me back to Waylon, Willie, Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard.
  17. It's time for another Outlaw movement to, as they say, put the "O" back in country. Otherwise, anyone over thirty will be washed up in country music! What's next - Jonas Brothers??? That is why I like Jamey Johnson so much! He channels Waylon Jennings and he is the real deal. I found some of his music on itunes before his recent hits. I could listen JJ all day.
  18. I go through three or four dozen eggs every week or so. I will save mine!
  19. Ankle weights are a very different kind of work out. They will mainly work your thigh muscles more. The shoes will strengthen your foot and calve muscles. I've got the Fit Flops and the Macai? Can't remember the exact name, but they have the rounded sole and force you to use your muscles more. Did you ever have a pair of the Dr Scholl's wooden sandals? Your little toes have to hang on for dear life and all your foot muscles get used more than a regular shoe. I like the ones I have--mainly because they all seem to support the arch.
  20. I am SO good, I have never gotten a bullet, I'll have you know. But LPPT may make me change all that. I may be needing to save my berries!
  21. Oh....I think there's LOTS of people in Paulding who have done the Botox at least once or twice. I started the post by saying why I would not have Botox, which may have led some to think I was being judgemental....or to think others would be. Heck, when they come up with a way to shrink wrap the skin, and it doesn't involve botulism, I may be first in line!
