  1. With all the ice reports......my AJC was in the driveway this morning! Hats off to you Mr Delivery Man! Hope you made it home okay. Now I am just gonna sit here and do my Sudoku puzzle from the AJC while I contimplate my next move.
  2. Thank you! Believe we will wait awhile.
  3. Nope. I stayed out of that one.....but I am thinking about getting my big manly husband with his big manly truck to take me to my office today. I would not even consider it in my car.....it's too purdy!
  4. What!!! 61 hasn't been salted??? What's up with dat???
  5. Thank you girl! I'm figuring Bill Carruth has been salted....just not sure about Hiram-Sudie. And, yep, it's that time of year again! Just got the software all updated last week and getting ready for you! Not worried.....there's not enough prepared food in the house for him to leave me at the office all weekend .....actually there's not any food at the office, except a box of protein bars! I better take me a survival bag just in case.
  6. Well......Mr Barbed Wire is home today. He grew up in the land of ice & snow (northern Ohio lake effects) and him & his big old 4 wheel drive truck could probably get me there even with ice all over. If Hiram-Sudie & B Carruth have both been salted, the only challenge will be getting out of the subdivision. And then making sure he remembers to come and pick me up sometime this weekend!
  7. Would love to get to the office today--have LOTS to do, but don't want to slide there. Has Hiram-Sudie / Bill Carruth been salted?
  8. LPPT...shall we dine on ice cream tomorrow>??? I actually remember walking into your husband's office several years ago....and there you were eating ice cream!!!! Just right from the carton! I thought.....now that's my kind of woman!
  9. Now that is just precious! Maybe you can slide on in and join us for lunch tomorrow LPPT!
  10. Yes, last I checked, the weight limit was 110 lbs--no worries about that now--I used to just barely make it, but we are well past that now! LOL And thank you Carol! I will check out the ones you have listed. I used to love donating blood. As a young, single mother, it was on of the few things I could afford to donate! Please let me know when the baby gets here......and if you get itchy for something to do! I have a computer waiting.....
  11. Yep. And I have never eaten big slabs of fatty meat. In fact, I don't eat pork, fatty beef or sausage. I do however, love dressings with olive oil now. I spent 20 years staying away from fats and eating tons of processed "low fat" but high sugar foods. Now, it's almost all whole foods...with lots of produce, some fish, chicken, beef and healthy fats. Now if I could just kick the ice cream habit!
  12. Wasn't Western Sizzlin where Las Palmas is now?
  13. That is the first phase of Atkins.....very low carbs.....like 30 grams a day, mostly green leafy vegetables. Lots of protein, water and green stuff. No bread, pasta, sugar. BUT it is only supposed to be for 2-3 weeks, then you gradually start adding back in the fruit, whole grains, etc. But most people think Atkins is ONLY the induction with NO fruit, beans or whole grains.
  14. Atkins is great IF you do it right. Everyone seems to think the initial 2-3 week "Induction" is Atkins. After the induction, which, by the way, gets us carb addicts off the cravings, it is the most healthy diet I have ever considered. We humans do not need white processed flour, white rice, white sugar or pasta. Sorry, we don't need it!
  15. Homemade chicken/vegetable soup.....my husband says it's the BEST!
  16. I'm not the least bit scared....and want to help! Just make it convenient for the VOLUNTEERS--not the workers....IJS
  17. Ya know, when I lived in Texas, I gave every 6-8 weeks (as often as allowed). We had a blood bank in town and it was opened Mon-Fri for drop ins. I have struggled with giving since moving to GA because it is so danged difficult to get to the Cobb donation place....or the various blood drives. If the Paulding Hospital would have a way to just walk in and donate, it would help so much. I understand the need to screen everyone, but the Red Cross workers have been extremely rude......I just don't have a lot of motive to help ......other than human obligation to help my fellow man. The Red Cr
  18. I hate when I don't have my wheels!
  19. What is the difference in a Nikon P90 & a D90?
  20. Do we have to say anything .....or can we just do one of these ?
  21. Girls--one word--DRAMA Everything that happens is personal. Boys--on the body odor & Hygiene, one day he will come home and start showering twice a day. It's called "girls". He will even brush his teeth more! But that's the small stuff. The big stuff is learning respect for authority (and parents, you can't teach it if you are constantly criticizing teachers, police, etc). Also there are consequences for choices. My husband reminds me all the time with our son that "zero has to mean zero". Let them fail now. Let them suffer the results of their choices now as young t
  22. Ya'll are having TOO MUCH FUN! So Cute! Happy New Year!
  23. It seems their response to you is what is bothering you the most. If they have "deleted you from FB" and won't speak and all that.....it sounds like your sister is no more mature than her young daughter. One thing I have definitely learned over the years is that you can't pick your family....or control anyone's actions--except your own. If you know you were honest...and kind in your response to her questions, then let it go. Life is too short to tear yourself up over someone else's insecurities.
