We like Fringe at my house too. Now my 11 y/o son--He LOVES it. He's like you and loves the Sciencey parts. I do love Walter. And that he named his counterpart his Walternate is fabulous. lol -
Awesome season finale. I've got the whole season on my DVR but just haven't taken the time to watch it yet. No one but me in the family enjoys Greys so we watch other shows together on Thursdays. But I flipped over last night about 30 minutes in and OMG it was great. My hubby who normally hates the show was really sucked in too.

The NOAA site has some really good info and it's the Offical site. So much we're seeing on the news is exagerated. So I thought I'd share this one. http://www.noaa.gov/ Click on NOAA Assits Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill Efforts, This will take you to several Trajectory maps. I still don't have the warm and fuzzies about my planned vacation June 19 in Ft Walton, but at least I have more info than the news is showing.

I took the survey too. Will it actually influence the final decisions??? But at least I put in my .02.

We're in watch and wait mode We've got a week booked in Ft Walton June 19th. If I cancel with 2 weeks notice I'm only out $25. Just hoping and praying they can contain the oil. I wonder if the condo owners can get some relief from BP for lost business? -
Now that's a non chemical environmentally friendly way to help.

We love this show at my house too.

I'm still planning on growing up and being Julia Sugarbaker. We had an awesome current affairs teacher at PCHS (Julianne Cofer) and I always thought she was the missing Sugarbaker.

FYI, the Hope Scholarships and Pre-K are funded by the lottery in GA. NOT taxpayer money I have 2 people in my 15 person office that are almost done with Masters and they do the same job I do. Both of them continue to go to school and rack up monster loan debt because they "can't" pay their student loans.

Not real happy about the Hope "grant" either. Hope was sold as a Merit based program. There are many different needs based programs that low income families can qualify for. Hope is one of the only things out there that you don't get screwed on if you are a two income family.

Medical Supply distribution here. Our CEO was just in last week and I asked how it would affect us. He's been in DC lobbying for our industry for months. Apparently the senate bill will be ok for us as a company. The concern was the added taxation on products. The house bill but the onus on us to collect--requiring a whole new tax dept and collections on our end. The senate bill will put that on the mfgs from what I understand. Frankly our stock has gone up since the bill passed, as a company the more people that are insured = the more people at hospitals = the more supplies n

Was there an additional fee for the chart? -
We are going to Aspens at the Avenue off Dallas hwy this weekend for my birthday. They have a fabulous buffet. You can see it online. Not real sure it would be kid friendly. My 11 y/o is going with us and I'm sure he'll be fine. O'Charley's advertises a brunch also.

My hubby is a runner and he uses active.com We're also doing the Hiram Hustle on 3/27, should be fun. Most races will have a ton of flyers for other local races. Have fun!

If you enjoy this type of thing I highly recommend Faces of America wit Henry Louis Gates on PBS. Very similar concept but more scholarly. Meryl Strepe, Steven Colbert and others were his guests. They go very in depth in several episodes.

Other than cost and pre-existing condition clauses
soccermom replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Right now my family has the bottom tier of Health plans offered by my employer. The cost of the middle plan is over $3000 a year in premiums more. And still the coverage isn't that great. Premiums has gone up so much in the last 5 years it's ridiculous. Co-pays have also increased. And coverage has gone down. This is the type of plan I currently have: http://www.tasconline.com/businessresourcecenter/hra.html -

Cost I work for a medical supply distributor. I know how much the hospitals pay for the supplies they buy. As distributors we have a very slim margin 2-5%. Hospitals all belong to buy groups. Those contracts ditate what they pay for goods. And quite honestly they aren't paying anything close to what they charge the patients and insurance co's. So where is the HUGE markup? Hospitals to cover the cost of indigent care??? Medicare/Medicade not covering the "true" cost so the paying customers pickup the slack? Insurance Company profiteering? * Also WTH with the Lab ch -
Came into Kennesaw about 15 mins ago from Dallas Hwy Via Due West. Easy Breezy! Can Cobb always start 2 hours later?

Young child hit by a car this evening on 120

So very scary, We can hear accidents and sirens from our house very near this intersection. We'll keep this young man in our prayers too. I see kids crossing the road all willy nilly and not paying attention from the movies in Hiram to the shopping center all the time. -
In our research for my husbands family we found everything was a lot farther back than you first may think. If you can get death certificates that can lead you to birth certificates that hopefully will have information you can use. It's incredibly common for family stories to include a Great great Indian Princess Grandmother. Proving it is much much harder. Good Luck!

I'm seeing cars up and down Dallas hwy at 92. We're up on a hill overlooking the intersection. Not a lot of traffic but everyone appears to be driving slowly.

Now I need me one of their burgers.....

Sorry for your loss! Let them help with a tombstone, we lost two 16 y/o kitties this past summer. My 11 y/o was really upset but already being a tough guy..but it helped him to help dad dig a grave and him and his sister made them both headstones. He has a weiner dog that is all his and he's really getting old--going grey and can't see too good. Luckily he has a seeing eye dog in our other dog. But when he goes...yikes it's going to be really hard on my son.
