  1. If you belong to AAA, you can have the photos done at one of their offices for free.
  2. Not at all - a 17-year-old Eagle Scout should have KNOWN that straying from a marked trail is dumb if one is not thoroughly conversant with the surrounding area. Heck, a CUB Scout should know that.
  3. I vote that you wait and be surprised, but I must be one of the last people left on the planet who wouldn't want to know ahead of time.
  4. Uh, my husband and I ate there pretty frequently. It may have not been to *your* taste, but we liked it and will miss it.
  5. I am absolutely in favor of charging people a stupid tax when their deliberate actions cause concern and expense to others. An EAGLE scout should know better than to leave a marked trail, period.
  6. I'm looking forward to 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'Castle,' and am crossing my fingers that we won't be subjected to a billion reruns of flood footage that will be called 'breaking news.'
  7. I guess it made too much sense to have something called 'Trick or Treat Village' actually ON the day of Halloween .... (Good luck with the craft show, Vito's!)
  8. Wow - I'm glad N wasn't hurt badly. I hope you will call the apt. office and tell them about this. IMO, the management should send out a letter to the tenants telling them to keep a leash on their kids. They should also invite some LEOs to cruise through frequently and have conversation with youthful loiterers. Maybe those two measures would help some.
  9. May I ask from whence your belief came? And if you do not believe in the desecration of the body, why is cremation acceptable? One final question: if you or an immediate family member needed an organ transplant to live, would you allow it?
  10. I knew Donna Angel when she was at (then) Kennesaw College. A lovely lady and absolutely devoted to giving novice singers a chance to perform and introducing opera to a relatively untapped audience. I sang for her myself -will have to post my pics from her production of 'Dido and Aeneas' someday. I'm very glad her brainchild - Capitol City Opera - has enjoyed success in Atlanta. Thanks for posting this, Nicholas!
  11. I have plans to do something very similar the next time someone pulls that "my taxes pay your salary" crap on me: I'm gonna hand 'em a nickel, then ask for change back.
  12. I *love* the self-checkouts. If Publix would offer them, I'd shop there more often, but since they don't, it's almost always Kroger for me!
  13. I heard Mr. Cain mention his speech in Paulding on his radio show tonight - he said he really enjoyed being there.
  14. As I have posted in all the *other* Duggars-drop-another-one threads, I think of them as selfish. It is SELFISH to make baby after baby after baby, when there are thousands upon thousands of children WHO ARE ALREADY HERE who need loving homes. Believe me, the Duggars are not especially deserving of anyone's admiration. I daresay they would even agree with that. If you're looking for heroes, look for those who *adopt* children or *foster* children and give THEM what every child should have.

    Roofers

My HH said someone came to our door a few evenings ago. Said his accent changed a couple of times during their brief conversation, which made him a bit suspicious. If we need a roof, *we'll* be the ones to do the contacting, not the other way around.
  16. I'm so sorry, PinkCrickett - waiting is the hardest. May God be with you all right now and in the days to come.
  17. Has he been to the Registrar's office? Has he been to the Business School's office?
  18. YeOUCH. I've got a pretty good idea what that might be like, having torn a muscle in my calf a few years ago. "Hurt like the dickens" doesn't even come close. Wishing for you the best possible outcome ... and whatever therapy they order, DO IT TWICE AS MUCH! 'Twill make all the difference in the world!
  19. It's a Viking kitten - you can see one here. And BTW, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few who has used the same userid *and* same avatar for her/his entire P.com career. You just don't mess with perfection.
  20. And that was MY whole point: the doll and it's accessory aren't necessary. *Any* doll can be breastfed.
  21. OK, I watched the video, too. It's not so much creepy as kinda goofy, IMO. And ... Baby *Glutton*? Talk about negative connotations. Sorry, I still say that any little girl can nurse ANY doll wearing ANY clothes and have the same positive experience.
  22. Better check coverage maps for whoever you consider - depending on where you live and who you talk to most often, Metro PCS may be virtually useless.
  23. I think what some of us find a little 'yucky' is the fact that the doll comes with a nursing top for the child to wear to make it "easier" for her to "nurse" her doll. As had already been mentioned, little girls who have seen their mothers nurse younger siblings *already* pretend to nurse their dolls, and have - amazingly enough - figured out they don't need special clothes to do it. When I was a little girl, I occasionally played pregnant by stuffing a small pillow or even a balloon under my shirt. I also put balls under my tops to make it look as if I had breasts. My mother had no pr
  24. The key to pay it forward, IHave2Dogs, is to NEVER expect to reap any benefit for it. Just pay it forward for the joy it gives to someone else, and the joy you take in doing something nice for someone else. You will NEVER regret a kindness done for someone else, if you expect nothing in return. Funny ... a friend of mine just posted this on Facebook this morning: http://www.scienceofhappiness.co.uk/ Let's try it, shall we?
  25. And where are *their* parents?!? Good grief - you'd think these parents would be trying to help another parent out. Hope you find your teenager soon!
