Hmmm ... I don't *think* my HH asked my parents for their permission/blessing - I've never asked. I was in my late twenties when I met him, and my parents trusted my judgement. It WAS important to me that my parents approved of and liked my husband-to-be, and I wouldn't have married him unless I knew they did.

Atlanta TV reports Glenn Richardson's 911 tape

There was nothing to "dig up" - 911 recordings are public record. -
Thrift Stores In The Area: Descriptions and Locations?

The new Goodwill store in Hiram on 278 is great! Clean, neat and well-stocked. -
What kind of biscuits do you make: catshead biscuits or "normal" biscuits?

Phone number is 770-485-2164. I forgot to look for posted hours when I was there.

I just got back with my loot: a sweet potato pie, a cream horn and some thumbprint cookies. I'm saving the pie and cream horn for treats later this weekend, but the cookie I just tried was YUMMY!

LGM, if you want to or can, send me a PM with what you know about this - whether or not you *know* his license will be suspended, *how* you know that (official notification, vile rumor, etc.), and so on. Expired tag tickets would NOT, under normal circumstances, result in a license suspension unless he didn't pay them, in which case he could be reported to DDS for failure to appear. I can't look up his record to see exactly what's going on without his written consent, but I can give you general information. Best of luck to him with all the rest - I know he's feeling pretty bleak. :-(

At least the doll has a wedding ring.

Pretty much. The best barbecue on the planet (IMO) is served at Old South in Smyrna - I consider Jim 'n' Nick's to be average at best.
-
I'm guessing Surepip Jr. works at Jim 'n' Nick's. I guess you could consider that "upscale" compared to the other barbecue restaurants in Paulding ....

For some reason it didn't work for me, so I'm glad it's gone.

But not at the drive-thru.

There's always fast food, which is cheap and doesn't require tipping.

NC-17, you originally wrote '5,' not 'a 5' or '5 dollars.' Since the thread was discussing percentages and not dollar amounts, it was a natural presumption that you "meant" five percent. I'm guessing FarmGirl didn't scan the thread far enough to see your clarification - lots of people don't read an entire thread before responding to a post.

In case I haven't mentioned it recently ... I HATE drunks

UGADawgs98, are the folks who test out less than .08 the ones who are charged with DUI-Less Safe? I see those semi-frequently in the D/L office when people come in to reinstate and have to provide certified copies of their citations. -
You may be hard-pressed now to find a church such as you describe. I'm an old-fashioned Methodist who prefers a dignified, traditional service, and apparently those are nearly impossible to find. I'm not sure when it was determined that joyful worship had to include electric guitars and drum sets and decibel levels that can match a heavy metal concert, but I'm sorry I missed out on my chance to vote it down. ;-/ Good luck in your search!

OK, here's my complaint: It's November 2nd -take down the Hallowe'en header. Thank you.

I got the same HTML mess last night when I tried to reply to a post - it showed the code in the quote instead of *just* the quote. And I know I didn't lop anything off or add anything because I just hit the 'Reply' button.

I *love* 'Castle!' I especially like the relationship he has with his daughter - it's really nice to see a good father-daughter relationship on TV. The fact that Nathan Fillion is HOT doesn't hurt, either.

That's just wrong, IMO. If a parent is paying child support, he/she SHOULD have parental rights unless he/she has been found unfit. That's not to say that all biological moms and dads will *want* to exercise their rights if they're paying CS, but their rights should be automatic unless they're taken away for cause. -
Have you decided on your hours of operation?

I got both flu shots at the Tramore Place Kaiser Permanente office - on the East-West Connector - on Thursday. I only mention it because I saw a non-member getting shots there for $20 apiece. Perhaps you could call and verify that the vaccine is still available and that they're still giving them to non-members. Good luck!

Get your learner's permit now. Then do me, all other license examiners, and the general public a BIG favor and get your license when you know how to drive. Not before: WHEN.

Situation/Problem I've Never Thought About Before
Riograce replied to kmhmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think I would ponder *why* it's in terrible shape. Is it worn out because it was read and carried around and made a part of your daily life for a long time? Intangibles like that should make it precious, regardless of how it looks. If you can afford it, find a rare book dealer and see if he/she has suggestions on how to preserve it - the mildew should be eliminated because it's destructive. The rest of the damage may tell a story that deserves to be cherished and passed on. -
Got mine today. The last thing I want to do is have the flu - ANY flu! - with an immune-suppressed HH in the house.
