  1. I am losing interest quickly, I hate this theme music crap! Just let them pick their songs and specialty and let them stay or not stay based off of their decisions and song choices.... Don't force them to do these songs they don't want to do! UGH....
  2. Thanks everyone, she ended up picking the Garmin over the TomTom with both lifetime traffic and maps.
  3. Ours isn't up yet either, it will look like a table top tree compared to yours!
  4. My Mom is wanting to get my brother a GPS unit for Christmas and I have a question. There are three we are looking at, all TomTom with the 5 inch screen. One has no free updates, for an additional $20 the next one has free map updates and for another $10 it has free map and traffic updates. My question is, does anyone have both of these free updates and are they worth the extra cost? I can definitely see the value in the free map updates, just not so sure about the traffic part....
  5. I was wondering if anyone has tried the new majic jack that you don't have to plug into your computer and you can now port your number over. I never considered it because I didn't want to lose our home number but now that it is an option I think it would be a great savings..... So, anyone???
  6. We just made them, they are very good! Made half with chocolate chips and half without cuz I can do without the chocolate! Makes a LOT of cookies!
  7. My cousin just sent me a pic of Best Buy in Hiram and there are probably a dozen tents lined up alongside the building! That is just WOW!
  8. Um, why not? Seems like a fun thing to do with the kiddos...
  9. Yes, it is healthcare, but you have to already have the coverage in place to participate. All of our employees were sent a letter asking to log on and see if they were interested. I don't participate in my company's health care coverage so I was not eligible.
  10. Yeah, she went up there and spoke with them, they do have a 62 exemption but I believe it was similar to the income based one you had above.to get it at 62 in Paulding. She still works, so the income based would not have worked for her. She also filed all the required documents to receive the discount this year at the same time.
  11. If you find anything out let me know please, my Mom is in Paulding and will finally get the exemption this year for the school tax (65 in Paulding, she wished at 62 she lived in Cobb ).
  12. My guess is she would, but the unemployment office makes their own rules and they vary from day to day! LOL If they are saying she will be layed off, then that helps her, even if it is only for a week.
  13. If she is an employee of the agency (not a contractor) then she should be able to. A lay off is a lay off if she is an employee. If she hasn't worked long enough for them then shey will back charge the previous employer.
  14. I agree you may be surprised, they are very much an organization that approves on the mood of the day! LOL I know someone who was in a very similar situation and had previously had a job that they paid into unemployment and they approved them and charged the unemployment to the previous employer. The worst they can say is no, so file for it.
  15. This was at the bank we use for work, the poor teller I felt bad for her but I am glad they got him. Hopefully that will put the people in the bank (both the employees and the few customers) minds to rest.
  16. Most of the Jones have already been foreclosed on and in bill negotiations for a while, so know that getting him what you can afford will be oh so comforting to him when the bank repo's Little Jonesy's monster truck. If he doesn't like your selection go out and spend $100 on yourself everytime he whines about your choice and tell him he now has $100 less in the car budget! I bet the discouragement will be short lived!
  17. It wasn't a laptop but the Emachine desktop I had was a piece of crap....
  18. My Mom did about $2k of damage to her Highlander two or three weeks ago when one slammed into the side of her car on Old Burnt Hickory. She said she saw nothing (it was dark) but the face smashing the side mirror into her window...
  19. I haven't ever lived near them, but I have never heard of toll roads having that effect. Public transportation, YES, toll roads, haven't heard that.... I will be interested to hear if other have lived in those areas.
  20. We were in the huge line going to the southbound lot. They kept us in that line forever! Once they ran us all the way up the hill I turned on the last lane and found easily 50 spaces that were completely empty way back closer to the bouncy house and walked past another 50. They had police and volunteers on radios trying to find one or two spaces and sending people there. I say forget them and let the people find spaces on their own and the traffic would likely have not been so horrible. The kids enjoyed it a lot, but you could tell the sign of the times with how many were there giving
  21. I welcome anyone who comes to the house truly dressed up, no matter the age.... But I agree, parents should be with them. My thirteen year old has the impression she can go around with just her friends... um Her and her friends can stay one house in front of us to avoid embarrassment!
  22. It is right beside the old courthouse, if you went to get your tag there you probably parked in the parking lot their building is in. Little brick building right up by the road.
  23. I agree with everyone that something isn't right. My bill is normally about $60, so that is about $2 a day. If what they say is true and three more days are added that is about $6 more, but mine was almost $90.
  24. Makes no sense that they don't tap into this, they are letting the other states have all that revenue....
