Written by Steve Goodman (co-written by John Prine) . Google him, one of the best acoustic guitar players and songwriters you will ever hear. He died of cancer in his early thirties. This song was a joke between Prine and Goodman. Goodman wrote the first two verses and Prine jumped up on the bed and said "you don't have to call me darling, you never even called me by my name". Goodman wrote "The City of New Orleans" not Arlo Guthrie as many people believe.

What is scarier is they and their offspring are allowed to vote. Explains a hell of a lot if you think about it.

I agree this is a slap in the face to the working man, small business owner and the suburban commuter in particular. This will come back to haunt Georgia's economy. The money is there for transportation if they would cut wasteful spending and entitlements. I have actually considered selling my business and retiring. I am sick of working my butt off and making less profit than I was ten years ago because of government intervention into private industry and stupid ass decisions by lawmakers. This tax directly effects my overhead, straight out of my bottom line. Ass hats.

Actually with few exceptions General Stewart was an excellent officer and favorite of General Lee. He was indeed given great latitude and was not directly attached to any of the Corps of the ANV. He answered to General Lee and General Lee only. However the circumstances at Gettysburg were different than when the ANV was in friendly territory. Indications are that JEB was given orders to stay within easy contact of the infantry, keep in constant communication (as reasonable) and keep an eye out for the Army of the Potomac. It is probably true JEB did not understand his role in the battle becaus

General Joshua Ewell Brown Stewart had ridden around the Army of the Potomac previously when General "Little Mac" McClellan was in command. This caused quite a stir in the North and proved the superiority of the Confederate Calvary in the eyes of the Army of Northern Virginia. The difference was at the time of the first ride both armies were at a stalemate on the peninsula. JEB was given direct orders from General Robert E. Lee to stay in contact with the ANV while they were in enemy territory on the approach to Gettysburg. The only reason the ANV gave Gettysburg a second thought is there were

July 1, 1863 Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Advise General Lee to take the round tops at all cost on the first day or regroup on high ground between Washington and Gettysburg. That it is just Buford's dismounted calvary on Seminary Ridge. Tell him Reynold's First Corp and the whole damn Army of the Potomac is coming down Taneytown Road. Court martial General Jeb Stewart.

My bad. When I saw the topic that said good news for CC I thought it was about Fidel Castro replacing Hussein Obama. Sorry comrade.

Have used Avast a couple of years. No problems, but they will heckle you to upgrade to the pay version.

Selma woman strikes back at those who wear pants around knees

General Forrest had the greatest rise in rank of any officer on either side. He enlisted as a private and in four years he was a general. He may have given the speech credited to him but most likely did not write it as he was functionally illiterate. There are different versions of "Keep up the Skeer" (keep up the scare). Militarily it is a text book West Point military tactic. Pressure the enemy when they are in retreat. Forrest was a millionaire planter before the war and actually totally funded a militia at the onset of the war before he became regular army. He was a skilled horseman and a -
Hold on I have to think about it a while.

Why would you have this person working for you?

OK first you call out some internet troll that claims you are an undercover informant for Delta Airlines (or something like that). Now you are starting trouble with what sounds like a lovely young lady who is just trying to keep her social media profile up to date and you keep interrupting her. Maybe you should look in the mirror Mr. Stradial. -
Fair enough LPPT your point is well made and probably correct for the most part. My point is I have rent to pay (metaphorically}, I have utilities to be paid (literally) and I would consume more manufactured goods if the Govt. did not take money from me(at threat of gunpoint) and give it to people who are less productive than me. EBT is fine for a stop gap but not a lifestyle. If a person {other than the elderly, children and mentally or physically handicapped) needs EBT (or any entitlement) for more than a year they have made some really bad life choices. I hate to sound cold but I am sick of

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. So you are admitting that the EBT program is a scam or I will be a little more PC, easily corrupted? This is my problem with ALL liberal entitlements the probability of fraud is 100%. Don't blame the merchants who abuse the system, blame the system.

OK here is my Oscar Ramblings. Was pulling for PA, mostly because I think she has paid her dues. Thought her speech was a little pretentious and uncalled for, ruined the moment for me. Seriously Meryl Streep and J Lo are fist pumping about wages. They are two of the highest paid performers in Hollywood. The whole John Legend and "Rap-Cat" thing would be a whole lot better without "Rap-Cat". By the way Selma is not a documentary by any means. There is a lot of poetic license used in that flick. NPH was not the best host I have ever seen (that is probably Billy Crystal, IMO). Was pulling for Duv

TP the fact is you do bring up an interesting topic. Lets address the Gorilla in the room, slavery. The statement that slavery would still exist in the south today shows the lack of knowledge of some people when it comes to the root cause of the war. Slavery was a topic and a partial cause no doubt, but not the main cause of the conflict. Most southerners did not own slaves but probably had more akin to their lifestyle than different from their lifestyle. The south was agrarian and most folks were either farmers or tradesmen in support of farming. If the south had of won slavery was an institu

Just came back from feeding in the barn. Verified group of Sandhills heading north. Could not see them because of trees screening them but no doubt about that sound.
-
A friend of mine from Rockmart said he had Robin's in his yard and heard some Sandhills. I have not seen either but if true we are in for an early Spring. I am not saying we are not going to have some more cold weather but spring will be here next month. I trust the signs a hell of a lot more than the freaking weather idiots on TV.

I stand corrected. Is he the second or third one from the right at Mt. Rushmore?
