Annie Lennox is one of the greatest singers to ever record an album. No one puts the emotion into it like Annie. She gives 120% all the time. Adele (who does not suck by the way) says if she could she trade voices anybody who would it be. She said Annie Lennox. Annie is in a totally different universe from, Beyoncé, Taylor, Madonna, Gaga, Christina,et al. -
Port workers union holds US economy hostage

Corporation- legal entity, usually a group of people, that has charter granting it certain legal powers generally given to individuals, as to sell property or enter into contracts. Charity- generosity toward the needy, a welfare institution. Maybe you have confused these two they do both start with C. This is from Webster's New World Dictionary I hope this helps clarify. -
Port workers union holds US economy hostage
Stonewall replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As stated earlier there is an absolute distinction between Trade Unions and Labor Unions. I am ex Trade Union although I still carry a card. I can never get over the mentality of the worker who wants their employer to fail. By this I mean the wealth envy stick it to the "Man" rebel rousers. I have seen it many times in the trades and I have seen many examples in the national media concerning labor unions. The representatives and loudest complainers I usually encountered were the sorriest excuse for tradesman in the Local. How dumb do you have to be to realize if the "Man" goes broke you don't -
Quite possibly the worst movie ever made.

Please let this be true. I am stoked. I put Harper Lee right up there with Hemingway, Twain, Salinger, Capote, et al. A great American author. TKAM is probably my favorite novel of all time right there with Life on the Mississippi. I know I am partial to stories set in the South but it does not diminish the brilliance of her work.

This must be a seriously awards show. Bilbo Baggins, Mel Brookes and Skeletor all in the same photo. Supercool!

Don't really care for either team. Defense wins championships so I will say Seattle will win.

That kind of thinking is typical of the left. You cannot borrow your way out of debt. Yes I understand that the public sector accounts for a huge amount of the economy, that is exactly the problem. OK I have a hen that lays two eggs a day. To feed my family I need one egg a day. The government needs three eggs a day from me to operate and they do not even have a hen. You are not ignorant enough to think the national debt does not effect the value of the dollar. You are liberal enough to deny it but not ignorant enough to believe it. The public sector produces zero income to the GNP. They are a

The main cause of the devaluation of the dollar is the national debt not necessarily the strength of the GNP. We borrow money at rate that the average citizen cannot fathom. It works like a credit card we pay interest but it accrues faster than we are paying it off. Hopefully the "Bank" (Federal Reserve, China, Saudi Arabia, etc.) don't call the note due. That's when the dollar will tank. Yes I will take a strong dollar over a weak one any day. The real issue is the national debt and governments refusal to cut wasteful spending, stop funding bail outs, stop funding stupid stimulus packages, el

Chances are if you are caught at the venue with a hand gun you will not see your event. The City of Atlanta is just as paranoid as NYC when it comes to handguns. Even with a permit you will be detained and at best forced to return to your car and leave the gun at worst you will be detained at the arena police station. I am an avid right to carry supporter but use some common since. Incidents that draw attention just give the anti carry folks something to use against you.

Walmart, Academy Sports, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, Adventure Outdoors, Gables, Bass Pro Shop, even a local pawn shop, hope this helps. -
I will go out on a limb and say foul play is involved. This is one reason why I am pro capital punishment. The guilty party should hang on the courthouse square. Evil SOBs, kill them, kill them all.

"SONS OF LIBERTY" WILL YOU BE WATCHING TONIGHT?
Stonewall replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Watched it. Pretty informative, based on fact but Hollywoodized like most made for tv shows that are not documentaries. I enjoyed it but my issue with it is our young folks(or old folks for that matter) watching it and re-writing history in their minds. Much as the based on fact Selma that Okra used to write history that she approves of. Yes I know they are both fiction based on reality meant to entertain but I am afraid a lot of folks cannot distinguish between the two. Will not stop me from watching but with the knowledge it is not 100% accurate. -
School Bus Drivers, And Lunchroom Employees, Cut From Insurance
Stonewall replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes my point was to show the absolute reverse of your paragraph or at least the other side of it coming from a point of view that is the polar opposite of most liberal thought. OK let me try again. I was saying that someone can't point to the 0.5% of the noisy liberals that dominate the news and say that the country isn't working for the other 95.5% (your figures) of the population. The leftists liberals are the ones who want to appear as the norm when they are not. They are just louder and bitch more with the total support of the liberal ass media. My point is the liberals try to do exactly w -
School Bus Drivers, And Lunchroom Employees, Cut From Insurance
Stonewall replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is absolutely the mindset of a liberal. Their beliefs and policy are based exactly on your scenario. Because of one person or even a million people real or imaginarily get "screwed" the other 95.5% should feel guilty and have to pay for it. This applies to entitlement, gay rights, Obama care, minimum wage, incarceration of minorities, hiring laws, firing laws, immigration, gun laws, voting laws, grants and basically all liberal policies. I have been trying to explain this foreign mindset for years and it took one of you to admit it and put it in words. This is Freud personified, subconsci -
School Bus Drivers, And Lunchroom Employees, Cut From Insurance
Stonewall replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My understanding is the State pays for or subsidizes (under the States insurance carrier) these employees. The States argument is that if a county wants to give premium benefits to part time workers then the county or city should cover the cost not the State. It is very similar to the argument about transportation around Atlanta. Should tax dollars from Twiggs County go toward building rapid transit in Metro Atlanta? Back to public vs. private, most private companies do not provide premo insurance to part time employees. At least not to the level of full time employees. The reason is cost. The -
I could not agree with you more these jobs are definitely low hanging fruit and for the most part in both the public and private sectors the real fat is in the middle and at the top. But the conversation was about these particular employees and I did not want to get too detailed. Actually I believe the entire education system is low hanging fruit and not even in the conversation when it comes to government waste. It is however very much in the conversation when it comes to governments failure to deliver maximum return on investment. The system is well funded, possibly over funded, but ran like

One of my best customers is a medium sized Hospital in a surrounding county. They outsourced their housekeeping department two years ago. Pretty much anyone who worked for the hospital at that time was offered first choice at the "new" jobs through the contractor. Their was almost no turnover with the exception of a couple of employees who were old enough and took retirement. There was an adjustment period but everyone seems well pleased with the service and the employees are making equal or above their original compensation packages. Don't be afraid of the Big Bad Wolf until you are sure it
