Have you tried the different masks/nasal cannula/nose pillows? If you physcially can't tolerate it then there may be a surgical approach to fix it. It's called a UPPP (UP3) uvulopalatoplasty and basically the uvula (the hangy thing in the back of your mouth) is removed and the soft palate tissue (roof of mouth) is trimmed and tonsils are removed if necessary. All that opens your airway so you can breathe at night. Also, when was the last time it was titrated? Hubby started off with a high pressure on his CPAP and would wake up hurting so the pulmonologist cut his pressure by a couple and

Both girls went to South. My niece, who was good friends with Nick, was also good friends with one of the girls who died last night. Prayers to the families of all involved, the friends, classmates, South family, and the trooper and his family. I haven't heard of any injuries for him. My heart's breaking for my niece and my sister as she has to help her daughter deal with another devastating loss, by a similar manner, in such a short time span.

It's only for Wellstar employees. They're changing our healthplan and dropping the Medicare Advantage coverage for employees. If you're a patient then you're okay.
-
They're switching to Aetna but will still have the same options--high deductible plans. The Medicare Advantage portion is still unknown.

FIL was treated for repeated "lung infections" and finally sent to the Cleveland Clinic, where they removed two ribs and cleaned the "infection" out of the chest cavity. They biopsied the chest wall instead of just the fluid or lung tissue and found mesothelioma. He was sent back home via ambulance the next morning, set up with hospice care, and died 11 days after his diagnosis. There was no reason to even discuss treatment options once it was finally discovered. The small hospitals that did his previous surgeries and treatments never biopsied the lining of the chest wall; if they had caug

Thanks. I never really had any qualms about Hiram and was looking forward to DS starting there next year, but that lady was so adamant, almost mean and rude, about how terrible it was that I wanted to get some feedback from my fellow PC residents. I'd not heard anything one way or the other. I plan on being involved, and he's already into band and athletics, so there should be plenty of involvement. We're going to attend a few football games this fall to get a feel for things. Go Hornets!!

I wouldn't school choice to North anyway because it's too far. I figured Hiram was in the middle, but this lady was so adamant that Hiram was the worst in almost the entire state. I was shocked by her tone and attitude toward Hiram. I never even thought it was a bad school but after the earful I got from her I was wondering. Maybe she was jaded by an employee at Hiram and has an agenda LOL. We're in Hiram district but barely, we're closer to South.
-
We're in district for Hiram, but I had someone tell me it's the worst HS in all of PC, that North (conveniently where she's a teacher) is the best. How would you rank the 5 PC high schools, from best to worst? Just curious if I should school choice.

Likewise. I loved seeing him in the Ridge Rd Kroger. So sad. Prayers for his family. -
Yes, ADHD can be considered a disability but not necessarily special needs. My oldest was diagnosed with AD/HD combined type secondary to oppositional defiance disorder when he was 5. I received a LOT of criticism from people for even getting him tested, called everything from a lazy person to a horrible mother, by people who did not know my son or the situation. He was thoroughly evaluated, not just handed a prescription for Ritalin by his pediatrician. Anyway, children with ADD and ADHD do lack impulse control--that's part of the definition. The area in the brain that is responsible for

Um, it IS spelled correctly, it's just the wrong word. Silly homonyms.

How can I find out the details behind a Purple Heart? My grandfather was awarded one in WWII but never said anything to the family and we found it after he died, in a box with his other medals and pins.

I had two kids spend the night for middleschooler's birthday a couple of years ago. I didn't know either one well but knew one a little better than the other. I'd put drop off 6:00 and pickup 12:00 noon. At 12:30 I asked the one I knew better if his mom was coming, he said he didn't know. I texted her and she replied that her son said I told him he could stay 3 more hours. I told mom that he had never asked me and I most certainly did NOT say he could stay. When his mom picked him up he lied to me and his mom that I told him he could stay, and got mad when I told him that he had NEVER as

My son is going into 8th grade and plays baseball. While he's enjoyed the recreation play he wants to try for the Hiram feeder team. Does anyone know where I can find the info on that? I think they start in the fall for spring season. Thanks!!!

Doctor's Office Had to Extract Celphone from Teen's Face
J'smom replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I walked out of a patient's room when they refused to put the phone down so I could explain the procedure and get the consent form signed. I told them I'd check back in a few minutes to see if they were done with their phone call. About 20 minutes later (hey, I had other patients waiting) I went back in and they finally put the phone down--then complained about what was taking so long. I had one parent come in with their two minor children but parent was glued to the iPad, had the ear buds in, blasting the rap (with some nasty, vulgar, and offensive lyrics) so loudly that I could hear it cl -
Which owners? It's changed hands a couple of times with horrible service both times. We waited an hour to get our meal after we ordered, and we were only the second table in the restaurant. The 5 tables that came in after us, also parties of 4, got their food first and we'd ordered the BBQ pork and catfish and kid's chicken fingers. We went another time under different management and it was still a long wait for food, there was a question about the price on the menu and even the manager didn't know what it was (I figured it out--one price was for fillets, one was for whole catfish), and my

That place used to be Garden Ridge. The Kennesaw location is even bigger with more selection.

Hiram's Red White & Boom and Other 4th of July Fireworks!
J'smom replied to accesspaulding's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Can I ask an honest question? Why in the heck are the 4th of July festivities being held on Friday, July 3? Independence Day is on a Saturday--why have it Friday night? -
I talked to Brittany and she said to message Forever Grateful Ministries on Facebook and her sister will get in touch with you. They refurbish used bikes and give them to kids in need. Also keep the family in your prayers today as they face their first Father's Day without their incredible dad. Thanks.
-
Let me check. You remember Bud and June Runion, the Marietta couple that was killed trying to buy a classic Mustang in McRae this year? He refurbished bikes for kids in need and ran a charity called Bud's Bikes. His daughters (I went to school with his youngest) are carrying that tradition on. I'll check and see where you can take them.

Prayers going up for the families of the PCHS rising senior and his recent PC graduate girlfriend who were killed in a wreck on 61 at Old Villa Rica Road. The girl's brother was airlifted to Grady and the driver that hit them was taken to Kennestone. Prayers for healing for the injured and for comfort and strength for the families, friends, classmates, and team mates of the high school sweethearts lost way too young. My niece is shocked, she was friends with Nick. My sister used to live off Old Villa Rica Rd and that's a dangerous turn to make, left onto 61, Such a horrible, tragic situati

Would that be a taod-nado?

The way I read it, the providers are the ones undergoing background checks--as in, the doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, etc. Those patients covered by Medicaid will be fine, but a doctor who accepts Medicaid has committed fraud in the past, that doctor will be checked.
