  1. And they call Trump supporters hateful and bigoted, but never once did they riot and turn violent. Anyway, what is the desired outcome for those "not my president" protestors? For him to say "okay, your feelings are hurt, so I'll step down and let Hillary win"? I wasn't happy with the previous two elections but I accepted it and went to work the next day. And what about those college kids who are being given passes to miss class, allowed to exempt midterms, getting free pizza, and having therapy dogs brought in? That's a little ridiculous. Everybody needs to be nice to one another.
  2. We do need rain, but make sure to be specific in your prayers. Remember the last big drought we had, when the governor had a Pray For Rain Day at the state capitol? Remember what happened next? Yep, September 2009 flood. God does listen to prayers and He does have a sense of humor, so pray for enough to get us caught up but not too much.
  3. That has nothing to do with it. Vote NO because it lets the governor take funding allocated to that school and use it how HE wants to, and HE appoints someone outside to "fix" the school, effectively taking all say-so away from the school, administrators, teachers, and parents. I have several friends in education and every single one is against this. I'm talking every teacher, principal, administrator, support staff, main office personnell, and bus driver is against it. A "yes" vote is not "sticking it to the teacher's union" but is rendering that school helpless.
  4. I just have to give a shout out to the planning and crew of this project. I drive BC daily, from Nebo to 278 then back down BC to 92, so I'm in the middle of the construction zone twice in the mornings. They did a phenomenal job with keeping the traffic flowing with no delays, even with school traffic and evening commute traffic. It was a pretty smooth transition and I can't wait to hit it this morning with no barrels!
  5. Every single friend of mine that is a teacher is saying vote NO to this. In the past I'd get mixed results but this one is a unanimous NO from the teachers I know.
  6. Remember when you're buying school supplies--buy Avery or Acco 3-ring binders. Those are made in the USA and part of it is made in Austell!
  7. My 14 year old is playing this, but he grew up watching the cartoon and playing the card games for this. He actually dug his bike out of the garage and rode through our neighborhood while looking for them. I called him for dinner and he didn't answer me, so I called him again, then I yelled that there was a JifflyPuff in the kitchen and he came running. I told him to get his plate and sit down. A coworker had some kid knock on her door asking if she could go in her backyard to catch one.
  8. The signups for New Georgia are Saturday, July 9, 16, and 23. Their Facebook page NGYAA has times and cost.
  9. Crawford Long isn't Crawford Long anymore, it's now Emory Midtown. You can choose a different hospital and different doctor. The doctors and staff work for you. I honestly don't know what to say about the OP and medical records request. I do know records like that are handled by a centralized department who are processing hundreds of requests and it does take time to get those put together. Each hospital visit has doctor's notes, nurses chart notes, labs, imaging, medications, operative notes, EKG, etc. and it's time consuming to get all of it put together. I can say that the thr
  10. Prayers! Tell her to stand on her head! LOL.
  11. Wellstar Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) is a huge group with all those doctors in it, except the Emory doc. Dr. Piedad is a subspecialist, he's the "electrician" of the group and only handles disorders related to the cardiac electrical system and pacemakers. Dr. Michael Brown is good, he's one of the founding doctors of the practice, and Dr. Mannino is very nice and thorough. (I used to work with that group before they became CVM!). Dr. Sachs is good too. If you don't mind going to Atlanta, check with any of the docs at St. Joe's. A-Fib is not fun to deal with; have they diagnosed conges
  12. New Georgia park on 61, we've always had a good time there. Sara Babb in Dallas and Burnt Hickory also have spring and fall ball. We played 5 seasons at NG and loved every one, spring and fall. Fall ball is much more relaxed than spring, with shorter seasons and no championship or tournament games, but it's good to keep skills up in the offseason.
  13. New Georgia does fall ball. Signups usually in July. Check their Facebook page NGYAA.
  14. I know the mom and know how this happened. They were responsible with it, it was just the 60 seconds it was unguarded that the unthinkable happened. This is NOT the time for judgemental, harsh opinions and tirades from anybody. This family needs our prayers and love. All I can picture is Haley on her knees, covered in her son's blood, administering CPR and praying. It's hard losing a patient if you're unsuccessful with CPR, I can't even beging to imagine how hard it is to lose your own child, your only son, when it's your job to keep them safe and to take care of people. All any of us ca
  15. You can always tell when your headache is BAAAAD when you're chugging the kid's Tylenol straight from the bottle because the liquid works faster. What did the fish say when it swam into the concrete wall? Dam! A woman was sitting next to a strange man on a long flight. He sneezed, pulled out a handkerchief, unzipped his pants, and wiped himself up. A few minutes later the same thing happened. After the third or fourth time the woman asked the man what his problem was. He apologized profusely, telling her he had a rare condition where every time he sneezed he had an orgasm. She wa
  16. Blake is dating Gwen, not Christina. Gwen's not a judge/coach this season.
  17. I wish I'd read this before Monday. All I knew was what the signs said about the east side closure and was out of luck when I tried to get through there. My coworker lives off HS Rd and had no idea her side would be effected like this either.
  18. Premature entry to the left turn lane from Nebo turning onto Bill Carruth. Every. Single. Morning.
  19. I was in the Kroger parking lot on Ridge Rd this evening, turning into one of the parking lanes, when the kid coming from the other way went right through the stop sign. I blew my horn otherwise he would have hit rear door. He stopped then threw his hands up at me. YOU have the stop sign? Another place I see the stop sign ignored is on 92 going into Douglasville, the last side street right before you cross the train tracks. The cars coming from the right don't stop and it happens almost daily. While on traffic issues, let me just say--TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON WHEN RAINING! Thanks.
  20. Here I am! You're right, so I'll PM you. Sorry, haven't been here in a while!
  21. Hubby drives by it every day and said yesterday there was a piece of fence stuck in a tree nearby. Must have been one heck of a hit, and I'm glad nobody was hurt.
  22. I was dropping my oldest off at middle school early for tutoring one morning. The line was backed up and as I was turning into the parking lot, the white Lincoln Navigator behind me started turning left also. She passed me to turn into where you park and got out of the drop-off line, so I figured she was going inside. Nope, when I got up to the drop off point, she was at the front of the line dropping her snowflake off. She cut through the parking lot to cut in front of the line to drop off. I laughed at her, with my window rolled down, when she was stuck trying to turn left out of there
  23. Good luck. My MIL moved down here from up north and will have to move back due to insurance. She has BCBS of her home state, and to change to the identical policy for BCBS GA her premiums would triple and all her out of pocket expenses would double AND her prescription benefit would drop. Her maintenance script copay would double and one of her critical meds (antirejection after kidney transplant) is covered at less than half. She can't find any plan that matches what she's curently on. Medicare is her primary but her secondary insurance is the problem. She's on a very fixed income, wido
  24. When I worked as a cashier in a restaurant that offered take-out service, most people would NOT tip for a to-go order. One person even asked me why there was a spot for a tip on the receipt and I had to explain it's the same receipt that prints out whether you're dining in or taking it to go. If I have to go inside and pick it up I usually won't tip, maybe $1.00, but if they bring it out to me then it'll be more. What really gets me, though, is the self-serve frozen yogurt place with a tip jar by the cash register. No, you did nothing, didn't even look up from your phone when we came in, w
