    sinusis

I've heard it wasn't too bad, just some discomfort at the time. The issue can return if the opening to your sinus cavities are narrow or blocked by a polyp, but if it's an acute thing the draining should give some relief. Also ask your ENT about a saline sinus rinse, like a NetiPot or NeilMed device, to keep it flushed. Those are over the counter and fairly easy to use.
  2. Another weird event was at my parent's house. We were sitting at the dinner table, having just finished eating, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I started getting up, as did my mom, because we saw the same guy heading to the front door. There's floor-to-ceiling windows along the dining room and living room so it was an unobstructed view. We get to the front door and nobody's there. We looked at each other, opened the front door, and nobody was outside. The front porch runs the length of the front and there's a 5' drop off the front with an iron railing along the edge, so
  3. My grandfather would always sing this song, more like hum because nobody could ever make out the lyrics. Anyway, I was in California, in the hotel room by myself, and I heard him humming his song. I looked around, made sure the radio was off with the TV, and nothing. Oh, well. I return home from my trip and find out that my grandfather had died while I was out there. (It was a school trip with a full schedule, not much free time to call home during the trip). The funeral had been the day before I returned home. I asked when and my parents told me the day, and I asked what time. He died

    Need help

Need y'alls help. My friend's car was deeply keyed down the entire left side at Kroger in Dallas on Sunday. There was a guy in a bright red van arguing with her husband, and when they came out of the store they saw the vandalism. If anybody saw anything please PM me. That's a busy Kroger and surely someone saw something, knows something, has an idea who did it. Someone left a note on their windshield telling them to be sure to look at the side of their car, so either the guy was rubbing it in or someone witnessed it and wanted to stay out of it. Bright red van, older guy with gray hair and
  5. Alternate ideas--Dollar General, Waffle House, Subway, Mexican restaurant, and Chinese restaurant. There definitely aren't enough of those in the county. LOL.
  6. I was in high school and my alarm went off so I got up, used the bathroom, went into the kitchen, got my doughnut breakfast, turned on the TV and wondered why the Twilight Show was on instead of my usual Mr. Wizard. That's when I realized it was 2:00 a.m and I'd dreamt that my alarm had gone off. Double goodness--I got to go back to bed AND I got another doughnut for breakfast at the normal time!
  7. Big, soft, chewy, warm cookies. Chick-fil-A has the best chocolate chunk cookies. Having the perfect song come on the radio at the exact right moment.
  8. Where is this shack by the ocean? We need some good seafood places near here. I love shrimp, and if they're big enough to cut into two bites I'm really in love. Same with sea scallops.
  9. Okay, so we did pet peeves, now what's your favorite things? Besides the usual family, God, home, etc. My favorite "little thing" is when I open a new jar of peanut butter, that smell and smoothness are so good. I also love when I take a nap without the dogs barking before I wake up. LOL.
  10. Can we quit the arguing already? Back to the original topic, Stuff The Bus is a great thing and was for homeless kids and underpriviledged kids so they don't go to school empty-handed. Those who can help and want to, great. Those who can't, that's okay too. Those who just flat don't want to, that's their decision too.
  11. I start buying glue sticks and crayons during July so that on August 1 I've got most of what's needed. I've been the single mom who could barely buy the single pack of notebook paper and one box of crayons, so I was thankful for the extras that are sent in so my son wasn't sitting at his desk with no supplies to do his work. Now that I'm more financially stable, I buy extras and also send supplies in randomly during the school year, and load up my kids teachers at the end of the year. Teachers are given a classroom, desk, and chairs--that's all they get to teach. I'll help them and kids any da
  12. I'm just ready for them both to reopen (Hiram and Fairburn Rd). The doulbe drive-through will help Hiram but I hate that about the playground.
  13. Chick-fil-A in Hiram, where are you? I had no idea they closed for remodeling on Saturday and have no idea how long they will be closed. Anyone know? The Fairburn Rd location by my work is also closed for remodeling, so now I have to go out of my way for lunch and dinner for some fried chickeny deliciousness. Heartbroken!
  14. Endocrinologist is Dr. Saira Adeel in Austell. She's great. There's also a Dr. Girish in Smyrna/Vinings who's fairly new to the area but I've heard good things about the office.
  15. If I'm taking your blood pressure, don't keep your arm bent and held tight against your side. I need to wrap the cuff around your upper arm, and I need to place my stethoscope in the crook of your elbow. Don't yell at me when I ask you get step on the scale, either. It also bugs me when the sound doesn't match the action on the TV. It's like watching an old Godzilla movie LOL. People posting selfies on Facebook once or twice a week. We know what you look like and you still look the same. At least get a haircut next time. LOL.
  16. Yes! That happened to me in the pediatrician's office! I was over halfway out of the space, had started turning my wheel, and this lady comes down the aisle *honk honk honk honk honk* until I stopped and pulled back in. She never slowed down for me. I also can't stand bad grammar. The improper use of to/too/two, your/you're, there/their/they're, and the above-mentioned couldn't care less bug me, along with yaw instead of y'all, and taking life for granite instead of granted. LOL.
  17. Nothing political or bashing of anyone on here, please. Just, what is your biggets pet peeve? Mine is when my groceries are bagged the wrong way at the grocery store. Cold stuff goes with cold stuff, raw meat doesn't go with ready-to-eat items, and eggs don't go on top of bread. It also bugs me when someone cracks the ice trays, gets their cubes for their drink, and then puts it back next to the empty ice bucket instead of dumping and refilling it.
  18. Can I second that? It's so frustrating to see EVERY post get hijacked by a few users who start trashing each other and Trump/Obama/Clinton/Bush. Just. . . STOP. There's an entire political forum for y'all to bash each other and/or candidates, just leave it out of posts that have NOTHING to do with politics. Wow.
  19. Yes, she made a horrible statement on Twitter. What I don't get is why the show was cancelled completely after just having been renewed for season 2. They could have just fired her completely (acting and producing) and kept the show going without her. So many people are without a job now and the network is blaming her tweet instead of their decision to pull the plug completely. It seems like ABC was waiting for a reason to cancel the show from the beginning. Whats-his-name on the TV show Letha Weapon is being fired for sexual assault/misconduct and that network didn't kill an entire show for
  20. I agree. My 8th grade class got to go there on a field trip. The Vietnam Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, reflecting pool, cherry blossom festival, Arlington, and Smithsonian were all on our agenda. You know it's powerful when a group of 13 and 14 year olds were completely silent and in tears. Words can't fully describe the Changing of the Guard. We were also deeply moved by the Vietnam Wall. This was 25 years ago, so the WWII and King memorials and 9/11 weren't there so it'd be great to go back.
  21. Only Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Scotty McCreery have had sustained big success post-Idol. The other winners typically fade. Another plus to Caleb not winning is he's not tied to a contract with a label so he can find one that suits him. He will do very well.
  22. Although we're all bummed that Caleb Hutchinson didn't win American Idol, we're all still proud of him and his representation of Paulding County and Dallas. It was fun seeing our little town on such a huge TV format. He handled himself with grace, dignity, talent, humor, and a humble heart. We will definitely be hearing him on the radio soon!
  23. She should have her license revoked for going outside her scope of practice. My office does minor surgical procedures in the office but it's local anesthetic and an oral sedative or pain medication, never general anesthesia. If you have to have any surgical procedure done, check to see if the physician is board-certified in that speciality and for surgery and that the facility is approved. There should also be emergency provisions on site, checked, logged, and documented daily. This doctor was not board certified for surgery.
  24. Also found out Monday that the principal at Hutchen elementary died Sunday night after battling cancer. Most parents had no idea she was even sick. My youngest is in kindergarten there and she's been at their spirit nights at Chick-fil-A and Stevi B's this school year. So sad and so young. Prayers for her family and the Russom family. Teachers and principals impact so many lives. :'(
  25. I remember my high school and college graduations, and any graduation ceremony I've ever attended, and the students are told not to be up there showboating and carrying on, just walk across the stage, grab diploma with left hand and shake whomever's right hand, smile for the camera, and go on. The families are told to be quiet until after ALL the names are read so the family isn't being louder than the speaker calling the next graduate's name. They could wait and let each graduate's familiy yell and scream and carry on before calling the next name, but the ceremony is already long enough. Y
