  1. I'm just glad you didn't say it was Hump Daaaayyyy.
  2. Hubby and I went to a concert at Philips in September and never felt threatened or in danger at all. We took MARTA from HE Holmes station (the westernmost station) to the Dome/Philips stop. The arena is literally at the top of the stairs, and if you leave the arena through the lower section numbers (102, etc) you walk straight onto the MARTA platform. If you get there early you can go inside the CNN center to kill some time. There's gates to Philips inside CNN Center. You'll be fine.
  3. I went to nursing school with their daughter. So beyond heartbreaking. From what I understand, they didn't go down there with money this trip, they were going to look and make sure it was the right car. Bud was pretty savvy about things like that and that's why they went together, with both cell phones and chargers. He refurbished bikes to donate to needy kids and she taught at a church. The killer's dad negotiated with the GBI for the murderer to turn himself in, good for that dad. I'm just lifting the family in prayer. Horrible situation.
  4. A man goes to the doctor and is telling the nurse about his "gas emissions" that he's been having. He said he'd been having several silent "gas emissions" the past few days, two at lunch that day, and three since he'd been at the office. The nurse looked at him and replied "Well, the first thing we need to do is check your hearing!" A guy finally gave in and went to a witch doctor for help with his erectile disfunction. The witch doctor gave him a potion to drink and told him it was very powerful so only take a spoonful of it and when he was ready for action to count out loud "One, tw
  5. A woman was seated next to a strange man on a cross-country flight. The man would sneeze, pull a handkerchief out of his pocket, unzip his pants, and clean himself up. After a few times doing this, the woman finally asked him about it. He replied "I'm so sorry, but I have a rare condition where I have an orgasm every time I sneeze." The woman was bewildered and asked if he was taking anything for it. The man nodded, smiled, and replied "Yes. Pepper." Knock, knock. Who's there? Boo Boo who? Well you don't have to cry about it!
  6. My 13-year-old is obsessed with it, on PC and PS4, but I haven't figured out the point of it yet. Target sells books for Minecraft hacks if you need some.
  7. This has been a long, dreary, cold, rainy, all-around blah week and it's not even Friday yet, so I thought we could all use a chuckle. Please share your best/corniest/funniest joke/story. What did the fish say when it swam into the concrete wall? Dam! How do you make a Kleenex dance? Put a little boogie in it.
  8. Have you tried a) turning your slippers over so the slobber can't get inside the shoe setting your slippers on top of your dresser or in the closet c) kicking (not literally) the dog out of your bedroom d) crating the dogs at night? We have a doxie that's a chewer so we're all having to hide our shoes or put them higher than 6" off the ground.
  9. I'm sorry, Stradial. I didn't even read the post that was mentioned until just now (I don't read threads started by certain people). I really did misread the topic this morning. I thought it was starting a bad cop thread on the heels of our local tragedy. Forgive me?
  10. It was heartbreaking seeing two hearses and knowing one of those carried a 12 year old child. Her birthday is January 23rd and my son wants to lay flowers on her grave because I wouldn't let him attend the funeral. The visitation was emotional enough, but I sat at work and watched the procession on my phone and cried for the family. Rest in peace Cpl. Driskell, and fly with the angels (soar with the Eagles) little Carolyn.
  11. Horribly tacky to start this topic the day Paulding county buried one of its own deputies. Wrong, pointless, and tacky, not to mention extremely disrespectful of Cpl. Driskell and his family. As LR pointed out, we should back off the cop bashing. Like any profession, there are a few bad eggs but most are overwhelmingly great. My son was friends with Carolyn Driskell and we were at the visitation and to see the line of people, both civilian and police and military, paying their respect, stretched to the door was overwhelming. I will always support police, military, firefighters, paramedics

    Gym ?

Read the fine print before you sign anything. I toured a gym near my house and went to sign up, and they were bought by Bally within the week after I'd signed up. I wasn't using it (single mom, working full-time, going to school part-time) so I called to cancel and they refused to let me cancel my membership, so I had to keep paying the $43 per month until my contract was up, then had to call to get them to stop withdrawing the lifetime $12 monthly dues. It was 4 years of paying the $43 that made me mad. I'm very skittish of joining a gym after that fiasco.
  13. What about the rest of the family? I'm debating about my son going to the visitation for Carolyn and was wondering when it is.
  14. My oldest went to school with and was friends with Carolyn, and one of her cousins is one of his best friends. He's heartbroken for her and for his friend who lost their family. How do I talk about murder to my 13-yera-old? So horrible. Prayers for the families, officers, and classmates of all those involved. Prayers for guidance to help my son deal with this too.
  15. I just want to know how, geographically, Missouri is considered the Southeast? Probably the same people who put Indiannapolis in the AFC South. Look at a map, people! GA had a good season, should have beaten Florida but we had an overconfident, cocky attitude thinking it would be a piece of cake going into that game, and should have beaten SC (HATE Spurrier) but it's hard to be the team AND the refs (Gurley's TD that was recalled for a penalty was bogus, the SEC admitted that penalty should not have been called), and I knew GT would be a tough game this year. I'm pulling for the Ducks in t
  16. Got a health insurance one too. Positive pregnancy test, make OB appointment to confirm and get initial ultrasound. Go to doc, everything's great, ultrasound shows the cute little blob with beating heart and we're all happy. I got a bill for the entire amount because it was denied as a "pre-existing condition" even though I'd had the policy almost a year before the claim was made. The office billed with a diagnosis of disorder of menses with a secondary diagnosis of confirmation of pregnancy. UHC did see that, but the primary diagnosis flagged pre-existing. UHC denied it to the office fo
  17. Yep. I had a different BANK (of A) but not by choice. I'd had that account for 13 years but it was originally a small, local bank, then was bought by NationsBank, then the biggest Bank acquired it, so I'd had no choice in BOA having my account. I had set up a check by phone for a car payment. Well, the next day my now-ex told me he'd spent too much money at the store so I called to put a stop payment on it. I was given a confirmation # and was charged a $30 stop payment fee. Imagine my surprise when I got a card for the $30 overdraft fee the next week. I called to ask, and they didn't p
  18. I said after game 3 that Mike Smith would be updating his resume. Wonder who is going to take over now? Also wonder if we could ever afford or even be able to woo Richard Sherman and/or J.J. Watt for our defense. . .Well, with today's loss we get a very good draft pick, so let's hope it's a good one!
  19. Brad Paisley has a song online talking about this in a light-hearted way. They're trying to sing White Christmas, but it keeps beeping the Christmas out, so they have to change it to Holiday, then White gets beeped out so they have to change it to Caucasian; end result is them wishing a politically correct ambiguous holiday.
  20. Thanks. It was an in-law, and she swears that her dog doesn't do that at home (yes she does, she has carpet so she can't see it). We got a kennel out that our little dog used and she put her dog in it when we left the house but she wouldn't use it at night because the dog cried and whined too much. Dog will only go where her owner is, including going out, and the owner was too cold to go outside very much, and dog wouldn't go out with either one of us or when we let our dogs go out. MIL did say that she wouldn't bring the dog back until it is completely housebroken (dog is already 3 years
  21. I'll try it. It started a month ago so it may be a long shot, but anything's got to be better than the floor being ripped out! Thanks!
  22. Need to know what or who to use to clean/sanitize/disinfect our floors. Our visitor is leaving this week to go back home (yes, she and her dog have been here since Thanksgiving weekend) and her dog has peed on our floors at least once every single day, most days multiple times. Our vinyl kitchen floor is easier to clean and we can scrub that (again) and we can use the carpet shampooer in the bedrooms and get a new bathroom floor mat/rug, but the laminate floors in the living room are the main worry. The dog would pee overnight, so the puddle(s) would sit for several hours until I cleaned th
  23. Kohl's has ugly sweater kits you can buy and make your own. It comes with a red sweater and white letters/decorations you can attach yourself so it will be a customized one for you. I had a teenager come into the office Friday and I almost asked if he was having ugly sweater day at his school but didn't want to hurt his feelings if he wasn't!
  24. Oh, yes, they still come around, always well-dressed and pulling their little wheeled suitcase or carrying case and laptop/tablet for the doc to sign for samples. They'll also leave copay assistance cards when available, but no pens, no money. If we're lucky we'll get a handful of candy bars from one or two of them.
