  1. I just turned the scanner on when I heard them but haven't heard anything on it. Anybody listening and know anything? I just heard them say Mein Mitchell command, power has been shut off so I am assuming it is a house fire. They are calling for additional manpower. Calling for SO for traffic control. Engines & firetrucks pretty much have the road shut down anyway at 161 Mein Mitchell.
  2. My bank, Regions, only charges me 5.00 for a box of checks.
  3. Love them and the Snyder's Sourdough pretzel bites! Love the crunch.
  4. I go through phases of craving banana popsicles...then just any popsicle. That was my one craving when I was pregnant. Now 30 years later and I still have those cravings just not as frequently.
  5. Shrimp & grits, Bobby Flay style.
  6. Call in the news crews and put it all over the news....someone, maybe a judge will not want to be embarrassed and possibly lose his position when it all comes out.
  7. I do mine very simple. I look over the beans and pick out any that have big spots etc on them. I put them into a large dutch oven and cover with about 3-4" of water. Bring them to a hard rolling boil and then turn them off and cover. Let them sit until about 2 hrs. before you want to eat them. Add one large ham hock and some salt and bring them back to a boil and then turn them down to med.low and let them cook until they are soft and the broth has thickened a little. You will just have to taste to see if the salt is the right amount for you. I usually serve them with pork chops, fr
  8. I just want stuff to make a huge pot of chili. Also some fritos for frito pie and hot dogs and cabbage for cole slaw. Chili slaw dog..YUM Maybe I will get some sauerkraut too....no, better not since I won't be able to get to the urgent care when it all makes me sick. LOL I found the best hot dog buns at Ingles. They are cut on top so they don't fall apart and I love those.
  9. My Mom had Trigeminal Neuralgia a couple of months ago and it kicked her butt. She stayed in the bed for a week and said it was the most excruciating pain she had ever had. She said it felt like someone was hitting her in the head with a sledge hammer. We ended up going to the ER for morphine shots and some heavy duty narcotics. It took her a couple of weeks to get to the point where she could function somewhat normally. This affected her eye, head and jaw on the right side. My Mom is not one to take pain pills but she was taking them as soon as she could to help ease the pain. She is 81
  10. I was told that boys are 120-140 beats per minute and girls are 140-160 per minute. It sounds like it is a GIRL
  11. Had to call Mike today, my laptop was shutting down on it's own every few minutes. He got everything fixed for me and it has not shutdown again. If you need anything to do with computers give him a call! Thanks again, Mike!
  12. Hubby scraped ours with the scrape blade on his John Deere.
  13. They must have restocked. I was there at 10 am and there was NO bread other than a couple of loaves of rye.
  14. My Mom lives next door and won't come up here unless we lose power. I asked her if she had batteries in her flashlights, oil for her oil lamp and a couple of other things and she said "I don't know, I think so but I haven't checked". Thank goodness we live next door (there are 15 acres between us) and we can get her up here is she isn't so stubborn as to not come! Sometimes she is more like a child than my grandkids....
  15. I can deal with all the other stuff, I just don't want to lose power....
  16. wsb is still saying that it will 9-10 pm before it gets here.
  17. Having to take care of large animals in this weather is the pits. Hubby is getting ready to go feed and put them up for the night. He will have to bust the ice on the water AGAIN - does it about every 2 hrs.
  18. Food Lion at 61 had 2 bread trucks there when hubby went to get some yeast. I am making my own cheese bread.
  19. The Coastal station across from the trailer park on 61S used to fill them, I am not sure if they still do or not. You might check with them.
  20. That is totally ridiculous unless she runs a daycare facility. Why would all of the meat be gone? If we lose power as predicted guess they will be cooking on the grill. We are total electric so if we lose that we have no water since we are on a well. We do have a Fisher wood burning stove that will keep us warm and we can cook on.
  21. I told you I thought you would be pleased!
  22. I will try it. We didn't lose the signal last time it snowed but if we get any ice it might be different. When the snow built up on ours I took a rubber spatula and went out and scraped it off after it quit snowing just as a precaution but it didn't go out.
  23. Just saw on the news that we can expect anywhere from 4-6" MINIMUM! That is in metro Atlanta area and they did say Cobb, Paulding, Douglas etc.
