  1. Yes this is the first time he acted this way. I immediately knew something was wrong when he introduced himself. Pubby, my first thought was that he was getting Alzheimers or was on drugs. I hope neither is the case since I watched my Dad with Alzheimer's. It was just very, very strange....I am still shaking my head and wondering what that was all about. That was my first clue and it went downhill from there. I just wondered if it needed to be reported before he actually did surgery or something that wasn't necessary and resulted in malpractice.
  2. Yes, he told him that he was having pain in the upper left side of the abdomen and we even gave him a copy of the last ultrasound that was done showing the markedly enlarged spleen. He looked at it and pretty much ignored it and started on the light down the stomach thing. He has never been like this before and we always felt he was on top of things but this time was totally different. We will not be going back to him. I know when I go to the doctor they have my file pulled before I get there and they didn't have my husband's pulled nor did the Dr. ask that it be pulled. I got the feeling
  3. Went with hubby to his gastro dr. that he has been seeing for 13 years. He also goes to Emory for the liver transplant program. Here is how the conversation went - sorry it is so long but I am perplexed.... Dr.: Are you Mr.________? Hubby: Yes Dr.: I don't think we have met, I am Dr. _______ Dr: According to your paperwork, I see you have liver disease. Have you ever had any chemo/treatment for the liver? Hubby: Yes I did have it years ago Dr. Who did the treatment? Hubby: You did and I did not respond Dr. I see that you also go to Emory. Who referred you to Em
  4. None here is S Paulding and I can't remember it ever being out. We have had it for years & years and have never had a problem.
  5. I make mine just like you would make milk gravy but add sugar, cocoa and butter. Mine is almost like a chocolate pudding. I just use flour, butter, sugar & cocoa and cook until sugar is melted and flour is dissolved. Add milk and continue cooking until it is thick but not quite as thick as pudding. Spoon over hot bisquits and it is YUMMY.
  6. This was one of my favorites growing up. Both of my grandmothers fixed it for us and now I fix it for my kids & grandkids. Great stuff on one of my grandmother's hot bisquits!
  7. Definitely get the tests. If it is diverticulitis then you need treatment. My hubby has it and if it is not treated the infection can get so bad that the intestine will actually rupture. He always has extreme pain and runs a fever and gets to the point that he can't even stand up straight. The GI Dr. is actually talking about removing a portion of his intestine where the diverticulosis is since he has had this numerous times. You need to see a doctor for sure, insurance or not.
  8. Gotcha Looking Good - they do a great job. They have done both of ours and they looked new when we picked them up. Look at the directory here under Auto Repair and you will find their ad with their phone number. Edited to add add'l info.
  9. Maybe I am confused but I can't place a Shell station at 278/92. BP & Kmart but no Shell. The only one that I can think of is at 92/120 by Stars & Strikes. Is this it? I LOVE boiled peanuts and we always stop on the way to Panama City Beach and get a large bag and eat them all the way to the beach!
  10. We had a large claim from the floods in Sep.2009 and it took Allstate 2-3 days to get out here and take pictures & measurements etc. After they did that it took about a week to get the final insurance estimate. They take all of that to the office and put it into their computer program for pricing the repairs out. Ours actually came in a good bit higher than the estimates that we had gotten to have the work done, of course they only pay what it actually cost less your deductible. I was very pleased with them. As Caped Crusader said above they cut us a check immediately for a partial pa
  11. We did the train ride last October to "Charlie Brown's Pumpkin Patch". The grandkids loved it - they got to trick or treat and get a pumpkin each which was included in the price. Very nice scenery on the ride also. We would love to do the Polar Express too.
  12. Go to www.gatrees.org and click on burn permits. Go to the region for Paulding county and the district forecast section and it will tell you what the wind speed is gonna be, the smoke dispersion level & direction along with all the other info that you need to know to burn responsibly. We do burn a lot of limbs & brush (we have 18+ acres) but we always put it in a pile, scrap all around it with the tractor and have a hose nearby and always check the above website to see if it is safe to burn. If you follow this info on the website then the smoke will go up and disperse instead of lay
  13. It may not be someone intentionally setting them. It could be something like we saw once where a truck was pulling a trailer and the chain connected to the trailer hitch was hitting the pavement causing sparks to fly into the dry grass at the edge of the road causing it to flame & spread. I hope someone is not intentionally setting them anyway!
  14. Parker Sales & Service is where we take ours.
  15. Check out www.canineassistants.org They are in Alpharetta.
  16. I am sorry to say that he is not kidding. I had to get rid of my little 3 lb. yorkie because of the hawks around here. They almost got him once and he would take off and run into the middle of the pasture when we let him out. He thought he was a rottie or something. I would rather give him away than to let them get him and he would not stay close to us when we went out. We live on 40+ acres and he was never used to a leash (my fault that I never trained him to use one) but I thought with this much land there was no need for a leash.
  17. I use AVG anti virus, Malwarebytes.com, Spybot.com and SuperAntispyware.com Hope this helps - you will probably have to run them a couple of times.
  18. This was our first time eating there and it was good for us also. I would like to go try dinner there sometime too. I looked at the menu and all of the sides sounded good.
  19. We also went on Sat. morning. We were the only ones there until another couple came in (probably was you and your hubby). It was very good! We will go back again.
  20. We have been here for 30+ years and I remember the only grocery store was at the Plaza and it was a Food Giant I think. Dirt roads everywhere, no asphalt unless it was on 278 or 92. The side roads were dirt and muddy in the winter and dusty in the summer. I remember when they filmed part of the movie "Sixpack" on our road and they had to do a retake of one scene because a cow moo'd right in the middle of from the pasture next to the dirt road. There was only a McDonalds by the Plaza. No Kmart, Walmart, Kroger, Target etc. You always felt like you had to pack a lunch when you went to the st
  21. Did my weekly trip to the grocery store so I am all set...just hope they are wrong and that it doesn't snow or ice up.
  22. What hours will you be serving breakfast during the week? We have been wanting to come and eat but the timing just never worked out so ....we will see you tomorrow morning!
  23. You got that right. My son was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center over a year ago and it was over $21000 for that 1 hr. flight. It saved his life though!
  24. I think if the man was thrown from the car they probably thought that there was a good possibility of serious internal injury or possible head trauma that might might not show up immediately such as swelling of the brain. Just a guess on my part but I think that they err on the side of caution in these cases. Again this is just a guess and from listening to the scanner in the past.
  25. Air ambulance just went over Nebo...
