    Why

My kids are currently on Medicaid. I have been on Medicaid and WIC. You know how much of the time I was on that assistance that I was unemployed? My husband has been in and out of work over the last three years, I have been employed steadily since March of 2010. Prior to that I was unemployed from Jan 09 to March 10 (even during that time I was working for a family business that I didn't get paid for). Before that I had been working full time since graduating from college in 2001, and prior to graduation from college I worked part time since August of 1997. If someone would like to call me laz

    Why

One thing that surprised me was that we applied for food stamps when my daughter was born, they sent us an ebt card while our approval was pending. It turns out we were just over the income limit, but they basically sent us a week's worth of benefits just for applying.

    Why

Either things have changed since your friend was pregnant, or they were told the wrong thing. My husband was unemployed when I was pregnant with my daughter (thankfully he found a job 2 weeks before I was due). The income levels for pregnancy medicaid are much lower. I was working full time and was able to qualify based on my income, and I was in a salaried position. I had an insurance plan at the time, but it did not cover maternity. I have been on WIC, and I have been on Medicaid. I have never felt smaller then when I had to portion out my purchases at the store based on what WIC vouche

    Why

I can only speak for myself, but I have had to be on medicaid before, and my children are currently on it. I don't have a lot of toys, but I do have an iphone, and I do have a diamond wedding set. Those things I got when we had two incomes, and the phone bill is paid by my employer since it is a work expense. I make just enough money to pay our bills, but not enough to provide food, gas for the car etc. Thankfully we have family that is helping us out financially until my husband can find another job.
  5. We used to live in Greystone. There was a house across the street that was vacant. One day the sprinklers came on and there was water pouring down the street. I called the agent on the for sale sign and left messages twice, and called the water department. Those sprinklers ran for 5 days straight.
  6. I think it's likely that this is how the person speaks and types. I'm not an expert in spelling and grammar, but I can get it pretty close to what it should be. I look at what people post on line and it makes me want to scream. It makes you look stupid. Period.
  7. Have you tried just getting a steroid shot, not one in the back, I'm guessing it's cortisone. That's what I've had before. They will give me a shot in the doctors office, and then they send me home with some pain killers and muscle relaxers. I'm usually better in a couple days.
  8. Thankfully I don't eat fish. And I don't know how anything can eat chicken sheeze. We have some chicken houses a few miles away and when I drive by I have to hold my nose. They just spread some over our back fields a couple weeks ago. It REEKED.
  9. I don't have the source, but about a month ago it was reported that women in the workforce was at it's lowest level in over 20 years. 154,000 Fewer Women Held Jobs in September; Female Participation in Labor Force Matches 24-Year Low - See more at: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/154000-fewer-women-held-jobs-september-female-participation-labor edited to add link
  10. I'm pretty sure that Deans List and Honor Roll in high school when I was there was a cumulative. Meaning an A would bring up a C, but I might be wrong about that. But I thought it was an overall 3.0 that got you on honor roll. I think 3.5 was Deans List. It's been a while though.
  11. After hearing about all these cases I have come to the conclusion that some people just don't love their children. I don't know how they can't love their children. I'd do anything to get my kids out of an abusive situation. I sure as hell wouldn't leave and have them stay there. The root of the problem is that we are raising people that have no value for human life, and then those people are procreating. We should be concerned about teaching morals and values, and less concerned about handing out entitlements.
  12. What are they doing with the area that was the customer service desk? I never understood why Target had 30 check out lanes yet there were only 2 ever open at a time.
  13. I doubt they use leave blowers to clean up a chemical spill. Maybe someone lost a load of pine straw.
  14. I had to do a project for work a couple weeks ago where I had to contact all the court clerks in all the counties in Georgia. I didn't realize how many different area codes were in use already in the state of GA. I knew about the Atlanta ones, and 706, and 912, but there is also 229 and 478 that I wasn't aware of. 229 being down close to where I live in South West GA, and 478 being around the Macon area I believe.
  15. What about 770? When will my 770 number become a valuable commodity?
  16. I just hope my family is together and that my kids have happy memories. I want for nothing.
  17. About once a year I do something to by back that hurts it so bad that it hurts to breathe or move. The only thing that helps is to get a steroid shot and to go on some heavy pain killers for a couple of days. But the pain will still last for a week or so, just duller. I was told it was a herniated disc when I went to an orthopedic in Memphis. Since then I just go get the meds when it happens. I haven't had insurance good enough to look into the issue. Since having my second child 19 months ago I can no longer lay on my back when sleeping, and sleeping in any position I can't lay down for
  18. I lived in the Atlanta area for a total of 9 years in two different stretches. The only time I went to a Braves game and paid for a ticket was when they played the Cubs in the playoffs, my ex husband was a Cubs fan. The other times I went I was given free tickets from friends or my boss. If the Braves or the Falcons left Atlanta I couldn't care less. The only sports team that I would pay to go see play is Alabama, and unfortunately I lost those tickets in my 2007 divorce. In hindsight I should have put up more of a fight for them.
  19. Walmart has the option to print on photo paper or card stock, and there are no logos on the finished product. I always do ours on the cardstock.
  20. I put the tree up the weekend following Thanksgiving, and I take it down New Years Day or the weekend after New Years.
  21. Doubtful. His fathers house is up the road, no one lives in it, and there are all kinds of old cars, trucks, and parts parked out in back of it. I don't think he parts with things very easily.
  22. I have no idea, but I'll check next time I'm out back. It belongs to the man we rent from. He owns the field behind us, and all the land across the road. He doesn't farm it, but he cranks up the tractor during the summer to bush hog the fields up the road.
  23. Threw it together in the back yard with some bricks that were just sitting around on the back of the property.
